Considering adding Connect and 2 Play:1's to my current receiver/3.1 system. First, wondering about functionality/seamlessness (i.e. will it function on demand as if I added 2 surrounds in traditional method or will there be additional steps to get the surrounds working in new 5.1 system?). Second, is there much latency given the Play:1's will be wireless?
Hi, my setup is PC optical to Playbar with a paired Sub I've come into this problem with low rumbling bass sounds - the Playbar snaps, crackles and pops when deep rumbling bass is played. Sounds like those made in by large reveals such as in Transformers (ugh), Interstellar or Inception. Any idea how do I get it fixed? Thanks in advance
Dear Sir/Madam, I am an AV integration consultant. I am currently working with a residential customer on their sound requirements for a refurbished living space and they have shown a personal interest in your 5.1 Playbar setup. Having looked into this I'm afraid that I just cannot recommend this product to them at this time. It's a real shame as Sonos has always made great products in the past and I feel with this one you have dropped the ball somewhat. How can I recommend a setup that costs £1500+ that is not truly 5.1 without a specific TV or extra switching equipment and even then there would still be no support for DTS audio from Blu-Ray players. I have always loved Sonos. I have specified it to customers for their multi room audio requirements in the past on numerous occasions. With this particular product I just feel dissappointed by Sonos. I think they have let themselves and more importantly, a lot of customers down. With all that being said. What is to be done about this S
Not sure if I'm saying anything new here, but I've come to the revelation that DTS should not be a technical issue (users can't tell the difference between it and DD) but a user experience issue. It's not about sound quality; it's about ease of use. Users shouldn't have to start threads, do expensive research, speak with support, etc. in order to play a video source with DTS. Users can't tell the difference? Fine. But users sure as hell are frustrated when they have to research TVs, blu-ray players, switches and more just to make sure their Playbar or Playbase will work. Pay the license fee. Support the codec. Make your users lives a little bit easier. (Isn't that what Sonos is all about?)
Connected up my new playbar, but there is no sound with my Plasma Pioneer PDP-436SXE TV (2006) The Sonos setup recognised that there was an optical cable to TV, but I only hear the TV speakers at the end of the set-up I can't seem to configure the TV no switch off internal speakers, but really should this make a difference. TV is fed with Sky+ HD box via HDMI and TV optical out is connected to Playbar. Playbar works with all my other product. (2x Pay3, 1x Play5 & 1x Play1. Is there any way to check optical out is working ? Anyone got this or other Pioneer products to work with PLaybar?
I have a network around the home consisting of a Play 5, a solo Play 1 and a surround set up running off the TV that has Playbar, Sub and 2 x Play 1's. These are all connected via a bridge and a boost. I recently noticed that I can no longer see the surround system, but can still access the Play 5 and solo Play1. I've tried power cycling the router, bridge and boost; changing the channel; rebooting the controller app. Any advice on what I can try to bring the surround back into the network? To be clear the surround is all working off the TV - I just can't see it from the app controller. Thanks
Current set up- soundbar hooked up with optical cable to lg smart tv After set up we cannot connect our mobile devices/laptop to the tv via screen mirroring anymore. This is our main source or television and movies. Is the soundbar taking over the wifi in the television preventing us from using the connections? Thanks for your help:)

So I'm new to the Sonos ecosystem. Last month I bought the P5Gen2 for my home office. Last week I bought 2 P1's for the living room. The next part for my home theater system will be the Playbar or Playbase. I'll wait at least another month for the Sub though. So my question is: does the Playbase has any features (except going under a TV) that should make me buy it over a Playbar? My TV is mounted on the wall so it doesn't matter which one I get. I'd buy the Base just because it's newer but than again, the Sonos page of the Playbar reads "thin is good for TV, but not for sound" - so will the base have worse sound than the bar? What could you recommend?
I recently purchased a Sonos soundbar for my LG OLED TV, and I am very disappointed with the results. The sound quality is no better than the original TV speakers. I have verified that the audio is hooked up correctly using the fiber-optic cable and the audio is coming from the Sonos soundbar only. Is there anything else I am missing, or is that as good as it gets?
It is´nt possible to connect the new Samsung Smart Remote (Samsung TV KS 8080 / 8090) with the Sonos Playbar. Connection works with other remotes (e.q. Apple TV4). How can I connect the Samsung Smart Remote. When the Sonos Playbar is connected to the Samsung TV KS 8080 via optical audio an sound at the TV is switched to optical out. Therefore the sound volume can´t be regulated on the TV.
Hi Guys, I am looking at purchasing a Sony X85 (also known as X8500 in some regions) 4K UHD TV and wondered if this panel will pass-through (via other HDMI ports - e.g. Blu-ray, Playstation, Xbox etc.) Dolby Digital 5.1 audio signal via the optical output port to SONOS Playbar. I didn't really want to invest in a HDMI/TOSLINK Switcher box and Smart-Remote for a new TV. I was hoping this 2016 panel would just plug and play! I called Sony support and they advised it would pass-through. Anyone got this setup to verify? Thanks
I have a Playbar + Sub + 2 Play 1s setup and maybe moving to a new house. As we plan the move, i wanted to make sure we get the best ambient setup for our Home Theater. What kind of distances are recommended for the Playbar. How far can the person be from the Playbar to hear good quality sound? The Play 1s are placed in the rear and mounted on Sanus WSS2 stands. I know that all houses vary in dimensions and acoustics, however If some of you can share your setups and experiences it will help me plan better
I am buying a new TV which is to be wall mounted in a Mirrored Frame. I don't want to mount or have a Playbar beneath it as this will ruin the effect of the mirror when the TV is off. I have a Connect and some Play 1's. Can I conect the analog out of the TV to the connect (using hidden wires of course) and then have autoplay play the TV sound on a pair of Play 1's which are small enough to be discretely placed either side of the fireplace (where the TV/Mirror is to be mounted)
I bought used plasma pioneer tv without original speakers, therefor i plug my own one speaker in the tv back, where is plus and minus plug in. Problem is that, when i play xbox sound from speaker comes out, all is good, but when i watch tv channels sound didn't comes out. where is the problem?
Hello everyone As you probably have observed so has Sonos launched a new product to be placed under the TV. Can some explain me what is the difference between this product and the Sonos Playbar - In addition to the different position of the two products and little difference in their appearance, so I can not really discern a difference between the two products?
I'm experiencing sound dropouts between my Sonos Playbar and my new Sony TV. I used to have a Samsung TV and had no problems so I'm confident it's an issue between the TV and the Sonos system. Would appreciate some help/feedback as I've invested a lot of money in the system so far and it's disappointing.
Current using a PlayBar with my tv set. Was thinking about getting the sub for it too. But then I see a new product, Playbase. Since its the same price as the sub, would I be better off getting the Playbase then buying the sub for the Playbar? Which would offer better performance?
