Current Sonos products in my living room listed below. Is this an optimal surround system system? From what I read, Sonos Ray is a step back in quality, so that is not an option. What components am I missing or is this a decent Sonos setup. Thanks for any expert guidance. Sonos Playbase Sonos Play 1 Sonos Play 1 Sonos Sub (Gen2)
Okay, Im sure this question has been asked before but i cant seem to find a fix/answer at all only somebody saying to set a volume limit (which wont work in this case and ill explain why later on) My Setup: 2 Sonos One speakers either side of our sofa and 2 sonos in-ceiling speakers connected directly to the sonos amp which is connected to my Samsung 75” smart TV using ARC-HDMI Volume levels for following scenario: 1/10 is really quite and 10/10 is really loud Scenario: Watching TV volume at 5/10 everything is fine. Turn tv off and cook dinner. Ask Alexa to play a song on Spotify on the Sonos ONE (have grouped them so they also play through the ceiling speakers). Volume is now 10/10 and neighbour can hear my music just as well as I can. Volume is so loud it almost punctures your ear drums. Turn the volume down to 5/10 to listen to music during dinner. After dinner you turn the TV on to watch a film and the volume is 1/10 and you cant hear a thing so you turn it up to 5/10 again and n
Debating between two possible positions for One SL Surrounds. Sketch inside, any advice appreciated!
Hi all,My room layout has a couple different options as far as wall mounting surrounds go, and I'm having trouble deciding between them.I'm thinking option "A" (shown as green boxes in the sketch) would be better when considering music playback, as it would be better for distributing sound through the entire floor, versus being focused on the couch/seating area.Option "B" (shown as blue boxes) would likely be the better option for pure home theater/couch sound quality, although (from what I understand), the speakers would ideally be further forward and to the sides (as in option "A").My main concern with Option "A" is the extra 7' or so of distance between the couch center and the right surround, but the depth of the surround speakers seems more ideal. The space around the right surround for option "B" is a high-traffic area (not ideal to have a speaker jutting out there), so I need to factor that in as well.Any feedback from actual audio experts and/or people who have experience with
I have had a couple PlayBase’s both purchased from Crutchfield, I have owned for a little over 2 years now and one of them started getting quieter and quieter. When you try to make up for that sound dropping off it shuts off completely, no lights, no touch panel, drops out of the app completely. The only way to get it to come back is to unplug it, wait a little bit, then plug it back in. It doesn’t appear to be an update as far as I can tell as the other PlayBase is functioning for the time being and most likely not a fuse because of it coming back after plugging it back in.Sadly out of 16 Sonos devices, this one appears to be dying. Guessing a power board’s capacitor or capacitors. Any suggestions out there? Thanks!
I have a Beam and 2 different symfonisk speakers (the frame and bookshelf) I have all three grouped together on the all but would love the ability to change the volume of all at once with the tv remote. The Beam is the connected to the tv so currently the volume only changes on the Beam. Is there a way to bond my 2 symfonisk speakers as a pair to be used as surrounds for my Beam? Would love an easy way to change volume at once for grouped speakers without having to use the app like using tv remote or when using the physical controls on a device. Since they’re grouped together it would be nice if the volume changes were grouped together not just in the app
Would like some advice please. I have Virgin TiVo box with a beam 5.1 setup in my room. I also have a beam in my summerhouse. Now I am using this to send signal from my room the summerhouse.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Extender-Repeater-Function-Ethernet-Satellite-60M-RX-TX/dp/B00YC3BWL2/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Hdmi+Extender+Splitter%2CeSynic+1080P&qid=1614509103&sr=8-3The picture and sound works great and even the remote works flawlessly. Only thing is I am only getting stereo 2.0 on both TVs with content that should be 5.1. Now I know this is the switch and I don’t mind it being in stereo 2.0 in the summerhouse if it is not possible over cat 7. But I would like the 5.1 setup back in the bedroom. Question is if there are any proven splitters out there that will work with the beam and sound will work at 5.1.thank you in advance
Sometimes like today I got up turned on the TV and tried to play something from my Apple TV which is connected to my Sony X800H tv. The Sony via hdmi and ARC port are connected to my Beam. Several times the app would not see the Beam. Turned iPhone 8 off and on, powered off the tv, the Beam (not in order), using the Sony remote switched to Internal speakers, then to Audio system or external speakers. prior to this morning i had put the Apple tv to sleep, not off, and did not power off the tv. in the middle of all this I wiggled the hdmi cable connection to the Beam. Aftr all that I have audio on my Beam from the Apple Tv app through the Sony ARC port
I’m considering whether Sonos amp will be the correct solution for my setup. I have playbar and sub in my living room. I also have in ceiling surround speakers that I would like to use rather than my play 1’s. I also have in ceiling speakers on my patio. I have a selector switch in the wall to toggle between the indoor and outdoor ceiling speakers. Is it possible to setup Sonos amp so that I can use the living room ceiling speakers as surround when watching tv, but disconnect from home theater and operate as stereo pair when I only want to listen to music outside on my patio without having all of the theater speakers on inside?
My 2021 LG TV is connected to my Arc via eArc (also have two Sonos 1 Surrounds and a Gen 3 Sub) which is giving me amazing sound including Atmos and it does passthrough of Atmos from any devices connected to it.Because of the configuration of the room, the TV and Arc are at some distance from the rest of the AV equipment and there is currently only a single lengthy HDMI cable between the TV and the area where that equipment is stored. To avoid unplugging the HDMI cable and swapping it between a Cable Box/Apple TV and a UHD DVD player my options are:upgrade my AV Receiver to one that does Atmos passthrough and thereby keep the single HDMI cable (connecting the boxes to the Receiver); OR chase additional HDMI cables so that each box can connect directly to an HDMI input on the TV.Does anyone know whether “double passthrough” of Atmos dilutes quality? In other words, if I connect my boxes to a new Receiver which then connects to the TV which then connects to the Arc, will that be less qual
Hey there! I’ve been loving my Sonos speakers, but sometimes I just want a single speaker playing music quietly. For example, as I sit on my couch writing this post, the left rear speaker in my 5.0 setup is closest to my head. I would like to be able to temporarily play music from only that speaker rather than fill the room. Thanks for your consideration! Cheers.
I have an Arc, 2 OneSL's and 2 Gen3 Subs as a home theater. I completely understand that I can increase the Subs output with the S2 Sub volume slider. What I don't grasp is the purpose of the S2 apps bass eq and its effects on the Subs. Do I use it if I want to boost bass to the Subs? Or do I leave it a zero? I really can't wrap my head around its purpose when the Subs have a separate volume/output slider. At first I assumed that the S2 eq was only for the Arc if Subs were part of the system. Please help and sorry for the rant.
Equipment Playbar, Subwoofer, 2x Play:1 connected to Panasonic TV 55FZ800 - All configured correctly and working. TV speakers disabled. Sonos S1 controller (due to old AMP and Play 5 in system). My issue is with the intermittent operation of rear speakers when watching sport highlights on TV.When there is studio chat this plays from Playbar only but when the chat continues and they shows some game highlight, the rear speakers kick into life and play both studio commentary and (artificial) crowd noise from the game. Does anyone else experience this and find it annoying? Is there a solution to it? Thanks in advance all for your help. Merry Christmas
Took delivery of a new TV today and hooked everything up. Sound fine BUT when watching the football with crowd noise the audio dropped intermittently throughout. Changing to the no crowd noise channel, audio perfect. The Beam is connected via HDMI Arc. Sound set to pass through and the E-Arc on or off didn’t appear to make any difference. Any suggestions? FWIW connected via HDMI3. Almost like too much happening was overwhelming the speaker. Connected to two Play1 for surround. Any help appreciated - I’m not particularly experienced in the audio settings so have read several threads before appealing!
I know this topic has been brought up in the past but it’s shocking that we still don't have this feature. All Home AV Receivers give you the option to force multi channel stereo output to all speakers. This is great for many reasons and can’t grasp why sonos hasn’t addle an option for this. I have an arc and two One SL’s and have them in my main room. Due to this limitation and the space setup I just decided to have all 3 speakers configured as separate rooms so i can achieve this. I understand i’m giving up 5.0/1 setup but worth it for my use case. Ideally sonos wouldn’t ’t’t force it’s customers to make this choice and give us an option. Completely ridiculous,… I’ve fond posts dating back 6 years asking for this feature. What gives sonos?!
Hi all,I’ve just purchased the Sonos Amp and a pair of B&W 607 S2 Anniversary’s for front speakers. I’m ok with that for now but would consider adding a pair of rears at some stage. My understanding is that the Amp that is driving the B&Ws can also send rear signals to rears as long as they have their own amplification. However, my preference would be for the rears for be completely wireless and the Move doesn’t support surround sound. Will the Sonos Amp send rear signals to any other wireless speakers such as the Bluesound Pulse’s?
