I am trying to connect my Sonos Connect to my Integra DTM-5.9 amplifier. I am using the analog out ports on the Sonos Connect and I am not sure which Integra in port to use, The only one that works is the Phono in but the quality is terrible. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Hello - if I add two play 1 surrounds to my playbar for home theater can i also use those same play 1 speakers individually or in stereo for listening to music or audio without the playbar - in this case it would not be for watching TV (use for podcasts, audio books, etc.) - Thanks,
I really hope its ok to ask this question and here and that someone (anyone) can help me. I'm not very good with technical things which is why i need all the help you are willing to offer. I share my internet code with a few of my neighours which i honestly don't mind doing . But recently SonosZP and Chromcast have been appearing in my new device section on my IP page. Ever since these appeared my Internet seems to be very very slow and was wondering if the above devices are the culprits . It was working fine before but just lately it has slowed right down . I contacted my internet provider and they said there were no reported faults in my area. I just wanted to make sure it was my suspicions before i mention anything to my neighbours and change my code ( Hope all that makes sense) Thank you to anyone that can me . I really appricate it
Hi friends!! I am new to Sonos, and last week got the Playbar, sub, and 4 ONEs (2 in the den linked to the Playbar for surround sound and 2 in other rooms). I had no problems hoooking everything up, but I notice that the sound decreases at times for anywhere from 15 seconds-2 minutes, then will return to its previous volume. This has been fairly infrequent for the first week, but over the past 2 days it is happening about every 5 minutes. I am mainly listening to music with the TV off, but it does happen with TV too. Any suggestions?
So while I was at work yesterday my wife decided she would mess around with our home theater system consisting of a PLAYBAR and a SUB from Sonos. She added a Sonos 1 purchased as a gift for her. She then played music through the speakers which we have never done before (have only used for home audio). Now we can only get music to play through the speakers, and when the television is on no sound plays at all. What is going on? How do I switch back to television? Very frustrating!
Hi there, I have our TV going to the line in on a Connect. This is then linked to two Play1s setup as a stereo pair for stereo sound from the TV. The sound drops out intermittently though. It can be fine for an hour then drop out a lot for 10 mins then fine again? I submitted diagnostics and got this number: 6910312
I have a SAMSUNG 55" CURVED 4K HDR SUHD, serial#05K33CCH801176. I can't get the Samsung TV control to turn up or down the volume on the playbar. I have followed all instructions per screen on the SONOS APP and also what I have found on the Support page. Nothing yet. still unable to get the remote to control the volume on the playbar.
Signal from the playbar is cutting out at random intervals (every 5- 10 minutes) for about 3 seconds. It had worked fine for the past 18 months. It is connected to a LG 4K tv that provides signal from Sky box: Searching on here it looks like a software issue but why has mine only kicked in now ? Diagnostic run - 6909423
We are looking for a new TV ( 4K) soon and want to ensure I can use it successfully with the Playbar . I know that BT Sport (UK) will / are now supporting Dolby Atmos and I know there has been some discussion on this Forum but it is unclear to me what the true situation is. I know that when I choose my Tv I must ensure it produces Dolby 5.1. If I get BT Sport in 4K the sound will be Atmos. How will this play on a Playbar? Will i simply get a reduced ( compared to full Atmos) quality sound or will it not produce sound at all? Is it likely that Sonos could add that functionality with an update or have I bought into a dead end.
This is a recent issue - I send my TV sound (albeit imperfectly) to Play:1s via a Connect - and have found my Connect stops playing when there has been no sound pass through it for over 10 seconds. For instance, if I search for a film on-demand or fast-forward through adverts there's invariably no sound for over 10 seconds. I therefore have to hit Play and get the sound to resume as usual, which after a while becomes quite tiresome. Has anyone else encountered this issue and could it be connected with my system resetting itself in the middle of the night (white lights flashing on speakers)?
I'm experiencing intermittent audio dropouts on my Playbar - I have a Sony 65X930D TV. There are no dropouts when I use the speaker for music. Additionally, it seems like the problem is slightly worse during DVD playback vs cable TV or Netflix or other streaming video. Looks like there have been multiple threads on this topic over the last 3 years, but no solution posted. Please advise. Thanks.
I've hooked up Playbar and it's sounding great with my tv! However, I cannot connect to the internet to stream music. My connection is strong as I'm able to use other devices and even stream music on other devices. I've restarted the app but still the same error. I called support but the wait is over an hour. Should I submit a diagnostic report and if so, how best to handle? Any help is greatly appreciated! - Deepak
when I first installed playbar the setup went great everything worked like it should. I had the playbar lying flat on a surface but decided to hang it after I setup everything. After I reinstalled everything I now have a few issues. One the tv no longer plays sound unless the optical is connected to the cable box and the only way I can control the volume is with my iPhone, my tv remote I set up initially no longer controles the volume. Also I use to be able to turn the volume up and down using my iPhone when it was locked now it only works when the sonos app is open. Is there a factory reset where I can just start over?
I know that this question has been asked in one form or another in the forums, I think that I am messing up one or more settings. But, despite the research, I still do not have it working and need advice. I have the following equipment: - Oppo UDP-203 - Samsung UN55KS8500 - Sonos Playbar The setup is Oppo --> HDMI --> TV --> Optical --> Playbar. The Playbar produces 5.1 Dolby Digital sound when the TV source is cable or streaming. The ABOUT in the app says "Dolby Digital 5.1" (Although, I have yet to hear the rear channels, I have no idea how to assure a source producing sound on all channels in order to test this.) The Playbar produces no sound whatsoever when the source is the Oppo. The ABOUT in the app says "Silence" is the input. (The TV is supposed to pass through signals.) To test, I temporarily connected the optical that was from the TV into the Oppo and did not get a sound. What is the proper setting for the Oppo and the TV? I assume that I am messing
I know this seems to be pretty much covered but i have tried every option presented and not one is working. I bought the TV yesterday and have exhausted all avenues. Updated Sonos app looked everywhere online and only the "standard" remote does volume but this also does the tv at the same time it's starting to drive me mad:@ Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated Ta!
How good(quality of sound/transfer) is the optical cable included with playbar as compared to something like an audioquest cinnamon optical cable? Thanks in advance! (https://www.amazon.com/Audioquest-Cinnamon-TosLink-Full-Size/dp/B006MZHA3C)[Cable]
Currently have: a ZP 90 connected to Modem; 2 Sonos SP 100 speakers connected to a ZP 120; Sonos Controller; a Samsung 8500 TV. Also have a Zonebridge 100, which I never used. Just purchased a Sonos Playbar as well as a SUB as well as a Sonos boost, but don't know if needed. I would like to use the Sonos speakers along with player and sub and don't want to mess anything up in this wonderful system to listen to music and watch TV. Any help, much appreciated. Thanks.
Just bought a playbar and noticed that the max volume when watching TV is much lower than when listening to music from the phone. Is this normal or can I change settings to address it? I have a 6 series samsung TV that only allows me use PCM or Dolby 2.5 neo as sound outputs (others are greyed out) thnaks
I'm thinking of purchasing a sonos sound bar and was curious about the sound input options available. My dvd player gives me the option to play stero sound or 5.1 sound. Does the sound bar work better with one or the other. Does it make a difference in the sound played by choosing one or the other. Does the sound bar simulate surround sound or do you have to buy more speakers to achieve that surround sound feeling?
Hope somebody can help. I have an Oppo 103 blu ray player and want to pass 5.1 to the Playbar. I have an 6 year old Sony TV which doesn't pass through 5.1 via its optical port. I also have a Sky Q box so I've got an optical splitter. I have feeds from the Oppo and the Sky box and then the splitter's output feeds into the Playbar. When I play a blu-ray or DVD-Audio disk on the Oppo, the source on the Sonos app says 'Stereo'. How do I get this to show '5.1 digital'? On a similar note, how would I be able to play SACDs on the Oppo and get 5.1 from the Playbar? My understanding was that I would need an HDMI or Coaxial output, which the Playbar obviously doesn't support. Is there any way of getting 5.1 from SACD disks with my setup? Any help would be really appreciated!
Hi, I am considering getting a Sonos Playbar so that I can orientate the TV and it's sound to either the lounge (primary consideration for sound quality) or the dining room (secondary) using a cantilever bracket on the wall between the two rooms with the Playbar hung below the TV on the bracket. If at all possible, I would also like to be able to consolidate and simplify my stereo system and associated AV receiver, speakers and wires into the mix too, so that I have one integrated system for both my Home Theater and (importantly) a great sounding stereo music system too. If anything, good quality stereo sound is more important than the Home Theater side of things for me. I have heard the Playbar on it's own and whilst it is great for TV, it is not strong enough for what I am looking for musically, it is improved by linking it with the Sub for a bit more oomph, but even after adding the Sub, it still does not give that proper stereo separation (wider sound stage) with the musi
I'm brand new to Sonos, and absolutely love the gear so far! I've also spent much of the last 2 days browsing around all of the information on the Sonos web site and in this community forum, which has taught me a ton! I have one small issue that I'm wondering if there is an easy solution for. I have a playbar with a sub and two play-1's for surround. The playbar is connected to an LG 55LA7400 TV via the optical cable. My issue is that the TV volume is lower than the volume when I play music. When I use the Sonos system with TV, I have to bump the volume up 4 or 5 increments... no big deal... but then when I switch back to music it plays considerably louder than I would like, so I have to quickly turn the volume back down 4 or 5 increments, and hope my wife doesn't yell at me. LOL :) Is there any way to "equalize" the volume of the two different inputs in some way? I looked through the audio settings on my LG TV, but I didn't see anything related to changing the output le
