I have created two separate rooms in the living room and both rooms are always active when I listen to music. - Room 1: Playbar + Sub for watching TV and listening music - Room 2: two Play: 5’s in the back for listening music When I turn on the TV and want: 1. TV audio automatically play though the Playbar (Can be done by setting Autoplay to : ON) 2. Ungroup room 2 (can be done with Ungroup on Autoplay set to: ON) 3. Disable the audio on room2 (Can’t be done). Would this be possible in the future update? At this moment, when I turn my TV on the other room (2) keeps playing the music I was listening to.
Just purchased a new LG 55B6 OLED and having difficulty setting up the TV remote to work the Sonos Playbar. Having looked at all the previous comments I have tried various settings. The TV remote works Sonos when the TV is off, as soon as the TV is turned on the remote will not operate the TV. I guess the proves the remote can operate the Playbar, I am not sure however what turning the TV on does to stop the remote operating the Playbar. I must admit to being shocked that LG does not even list Sonos. I am not sure if I am slightly disappointed with LG or Sonos but do feel they both need to do more to resolve issues like this. Any other victims out there that have resolved this. Thanks and regards
My kitchen/family room has the following Sonos products: Playbar (below wall mounted TV), Connect:Amp, and Sub. There are also two ceiling speakers connected to the Connect:Amp. The ceiling speakers are pretty much in the center of the ceiling--slightly behind a couch seating area (the couch is closest to the TV) and slightly in front of a kitchen table seating area (which is behind the couch). What is the ideal way to integrate these products to listen to music (Tidal and Spotify) and watch TV? Should I just pair the Sub with the ceiling overhead speakers, thus using the Sub only for music with only the overhead speakers? I listen to a lot of music and I usually don't group the Playbar with the overhead speakers when listening to music (it's not a great sounding setup to mix the overhead stereo speakers with the Playbar). Does it make sense to use the two ceiling overhead speakers and the Playbar and the Sub for TV? That seems like a weird mix. Is it simpler and better to jus
Hi. Connected up the sorround yesterday, and it worked perfectly. Also paired the volume control with the app. Watched film and everything was perfect. However today. When i turned on the tv, only the playbar under the tv works. The two play:1 in the back won't play. Tried to click play on the player, but it only blinks red. Also tried to unplug the kable, still nothing. Went on the app, but the only Sonos speaker i can add music to is the one in the kitchen (and that works), not the surround (playbar and 2 play:1). In the settings i can see the settings for both the one in the kitchen and livingroom. Only setting i get on the surround is "remove speakers". What has happened? Is there an update on the play:1 with surround, or do i need to setup everything again? Thx
I have a playbar, have been using a button remote controller for volume up and down for 3 years without a problem. Recently I have purchased 2 play 1s. And suddenly after few days of usage, my volume up button is not working. But volume down button is working. I tried to replace the current one again. When I press the desired up button, it shows that a button has been detected. When I was asked to press 3 times up button, I pressed, the Sonos Playbar detected and blinked, yet the app is saying no button press has been detected. What can I do? Please help.
I am in the process of buying a new tv and setting up a Sonos 5.1 system. Currently I have a Playbar, Sub and two Play 1s. The TV I am most likely going to buy is the Sony XBR-65X930D. Does this have the Dolby Digital pass through? I am not sure what I am looking for to determine if it does. Also I was planning on using an articulating mount but I am unsure if I can attach the playbar to it. I see that Flexson makes a mount but I have not seen any reviews of it. Any thoughts on it? Any other pointers I should keep in mind when designing the system?
Odd title aside I am curious if anyone has had any issues mounting the playbar under a large TV when the front of the TV and wall are approximately 6 inches apart. I know the speakers will be angling 45 degrees up in the position I am considering but will the space between the TV and wall create any distortion or be a sound quality issue? I plan to mount about 3-4 inches below the TV. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi I'm thinking of ugrading my tv and dvd player to a Samsung UE65K8000 TV and Samsung UBD-K8500. I already have a Sub, Play 1 x 2 and Sonos Playbar linked to my Sky Q box (can't connect old Pioneer TV direct) and Apple TV (gen 1) using an optical manual switch. My question is should I connect my Playbar directly to the new TV or still through the Sky Q box - are there any advantages/disadvantages either way. Also, I'm thinking I can get rid of the Apple TV as Netflix, etc is on the new Samsung TV. Can anyone advise if I am missing anything that this new setup would not give me. Thanks
Hi everyone, Looking to replace my current Sony tv and would like to know if the SONY BRAVIA KD65XD8599BU will output DD5.1 through the optical port? The manual I've found online says "DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) Digital optical jack (Two channel linear PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS)" but I'm not sure if this means it does or not?
Have new audio-technica record player plugged into connect and have play one running wirelessly. Played one album and everything was great. Second album sounds like it's skipping. Played another album and same result. Is there a lag or something? Would it help to run an Ethernet cable from connect to play 1?
I have sonos system Connect-AMP wired to four Yamaha ceiling speakers. I want to buy Theatre sound system to our TV. What I gathered that I need to buy sound bar to connect to the TV. I also understand that SONOS Playbar is the most comparable system so I can: 1- Listen to TV sound through playbar as well as our 4 ceiling speakers. 2- Play SONOS Music on both existing speakers and new sound bar. So my question: What are the alternatives to SONOS Playbar? I can see many cheaper but good quality sound bars , but what I don't know is their connectivity to SONOS System and whether they can replace sonos PLaybar. Anyone can give me an advice please? Trying to catch up on Christmas sale!
What is the maximum length of Digital Audio Cable that can be used with Sonos Playbar? The 5ft. cable that comes with the Sonos Playbar is not long enough for my setup, I run the cables behind my cabinet and behind the wall and up to the TV. It will need approximately 10 - 12 ft. run. And is there a Digital Audio Cable you that is compatible / or you would recommend?
