Just posting this for those who may experience a similar problem.I replaced my Sonos Beam with a Sonos Arc.My typical TV viewing is FUBO, Netflix, Prime, and YouTube. We mostly watch FUBO during the day for news and sports and the other services for movies and series at night. The Beam was connected to a Samsung QN90A HDMI eARC port. The Beam worked fine. When I connected the Sonos Arc to the same port, FUBO audio was cutting out for 5-10 seconds every minute or so. Netflix and the rest were fine.I spent two hours on the phone with Sonos with 3 different techs and got nowhere. They tried, but in the end, did not fix the issue. One solution they had me do was to connect the Sonos ARC via an Ethernet cable to my router. I complied but as I thought about, it made no sense.I finally solved the issue by changing the setting on the TV so that the HDMI ARC port was set to regular ARC and not eARC. If I watch anything but FUBO, I switch it back to eARC to get the full sound.I contacted FUBO
Hi I’ve read a lot of other posts and fixed up and tried different methods but can't get sound out from my connected surrounds using the Playbase.I have a playbase connected with an optical cable to the TV with two play 1’s and a sub gen 3.The TV is set to DD sound out and can see in the app I'm receiving DD 5.1.I've connected the Ones and Sub in the app. I get the Chimes that it's connected. When I go to play anything TV, Netflix, Spotify no sound comes out of the Ones or Sub. I can pause the Playbase though through the Ones. When I try trueplay it doesn't work as it says one of the speakers can't be found. If I disconnect and set up the sub with the ones as a group without the Playbase just to play music they work fine. This leads me to think it is something to do with the Playbase and not transferring in surround. Lastly I have done a factory reset on the Playbase and reset my router. Other issues along these lines seem to have been with the Playbase connected by ethernet. Mine is
Rear Ones won't connect with Arc/Sub. Used to work. Will work separately but quit as soon as link as rears.
My Arc/Sub 1/rear Ones system used to work fine but now I can’t connect the rears. I’ve reset Ones and tried the suggestions in related posts. I was able to get the rears going without the rest of the system, but when I remove then Set Up Surrounds they won't play. Once they played for a second and then quit. They automatically assume the identity of Living Room 2 and Living Room 3, while they should both be subsumed in my Living Room (+Sub, Arc) system. The Ones, Five (new), and Beam 1 in other rooms work fine. I’ve had Sonos for years and have always been able to trouble shoot problems, but I’m at the end on this one.
I have mac mini + projector(LG HF85LS) connected with hdmi.I'm wondering if I could connect sonos amp with mac mini(I have passive speaker which connect with sonos amp). If I could connect by airplay2, then could I watch Netflix with no delay between sound and movie?Any help would be appreciated.
Hello all, my Playbar (and system) on S1 is still going great. We mainly stream Netflix etc over in built TV or Nvidia Shield Pro (even YouTube in 5.1).There's a few films I'd like to own in 4k and this comes with the DTS conundrum so for me a Blueray player that downmixes to 5.1 is acceptable. So that brings me to the Samsung M9500. Anyone on here still use one and is it.a decent player?, they goo for a big premium ove the K8500 (still UHD).Thanks for any comments.
Hi, when the Sub is connected to AMP you're able to adjust the cross over frequency which is great if you have full range speakers.I've got mine in an Arc and in ceiling rear speaker surround system however when the Sub is in a surround system, you lose the feature. I'm assuming this is down to pairing with the Arc which creates a fixed cross over and generally optimising for surround. However if you're playing music you're stuck with this cross over.My suggestion is to add a crossover adjustment feature for the Sub that operates only when music is being played. This would be similar to how you can adjust how much the rear speakers play music when compared to the Arc. Any chances of that being implemented?
Hi,I've tried searching, but everything is linked to getting a Nvidia shield or Roku box...Can I use the Sonos Arc (without hdfury arcana) direct from a smart TV without eARC?I know it won't be lossless Dolby Atmos, but will it be 'OK'? Or is the Sonos Arc a waste of money without eARC?Or shall I just invest in an Nvidia shield (even though it doesn't do anything different to my smart TV - other than eARC support)Appreciate the advice!
Grazie
would love it if there was a feature where the led(s) on the arc would change color when it is receiving an atmos track so you can tell without going in to the app. this could also be expanded by adding different colors for different soundformats. example: blue = atmos, yellow = dolby digital , white = stereo
HiI have an Amp connected via optical adapter that I use for HT purposes with a pair of Ones as surrounds and a pair of passive speakers. Content comes from an Apple TV 4K.The problem is that frequently (several times per evening) the remote (I use the Apple TV remote) stops being able to change volume. The only way I could come up with to restore this function, is to repeat the TV setup in the Sonos app. This quite time consuming of course and not a good user experience. Is this a common issue, does anyone know how to avoid this, maybe an easier way to fix or to reestablish the remote functionality?
Hello, my series one x is getting delivered tomorrow, I am currently using a one x hooked up to my playbar, there is audio lag when I hook up my playbar to my tv via optical cable and my one x is hooked up to the tv via hdmi, the lag is eliminated when I hook the playbar up to the xbox directly with the optical cable, but the series one x doesn't have an optical port, has anybody run into any issues like this or have any solutions?
Hi, I have a Sonos Beam and two Play:1s connected to a Samsung TV in our living room. I also have a Sonos Connect connected to a turntable in the living room, and when I want to listen to that I’ll group it with the Sonos Beam so the music plays through that and the Play:1s.The problem is that when I then ungroup the Beam from the Connect to use the Beam with the TV again, my Samsung TV no longer recognises it. I usually end up have to unplug all of the HDMI inputs to the TV and plugging them back in again, starting with the Beam. This is a bit of a pain as the TV is on a wall bracket and it’s not easy to get at the HDMI sockets at the back of the TV.Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening, and if there’s a way to reconnect the TV and the Beam without unplugging everything? Turning them off and on again doesn't seem to work. Thanks!
I have a Beam, sub and two SL Ones as left and right surrounds connected to my television. Works fine until I switch to Spotify and use the speakers together with my Play 5 and Move. When I go back to television, the Beam works fine but the sub and surrounds are silent. But seem to be showing as online. I’ve fixed this in the past by rebooting the router. Obviously, I don’t want to have to do that every time. My diagnostic is 601964715.
Recently bought and setup a Sonos Beam with 2 Sonos Ones as surround and overall the whole system sounds pretty good. When listening it is obvious that the Ones (the surrounds) are only playing the surround channel audio.Since apparently the Ones have equal if not better low frequency responce than the Beam, I wonder if there is an option in software (or plans to include one) to share the lowest (non-directional) frequencies to the Ones as well, for improved bass (please don’t suggest to buy a Sub, it’s an overkill for my system).
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I added a couple of Sonos Ones (Gen 1 and SL) to my Beam (Gen 1) today for surround sound with my LG C8 OLED. The Beam is connected via Arc. Built in TV’s apps only. It’s working great for most things, some movies on Netflix sounded fantastic. Tried some demos on YouTube that were good to. But it doesn’t work with Amazon Video, even though the videos I tried all state they are 5.1 in the info and Sonos app report it as being 5.1. Nothing at all from the rear L/R Ones, just the Beam. Any known issues with Amazon video or this TV? Anything I can try? Am I missing something?
Hi all,I’ve just got a Beam, and have connected it to the TV via HDMI. All working well, and the app shows I’m sending a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal when the source has one.I’ve added two Symfonisk bookshelf speakers as a rear pair for surround sound. These setup successfully, but then I hear nothing from either speaker.I’ve tried recreating the surround links, checking audio input settings, but nothing seems to make the speakers output sound.Any ideas?
Hi All I have a Sonos Beam (Gen1) and a Sony TV. (But I don't run the full Sub and Surround sound configuration). I'm happy enough with this and Movies play back through it really well. However most standard TV is transmitted as basic Stereo or Dolby 5.1 which is obviously has a much lower effect for general playback. Recently the Sony TV developed a fault and as it is still in warranty Sony will be replacing with an upgrade. They will be replacing with the below upgrade.https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs-android-/xr-50x90j/specificationsOne of the features is Sound upscaling which is all good stuff and will try and increase the sound quality from Stereo to 5.1 and so on and so on.Im a little concerned however this benefit wont be passed to the soundbar and lost along the way does anyone have any experience with sound upscaling and the resulting output.Again not looking for excellence just any improvement.. :)KrPaul
I have changed my tv and before I used to be able to control the surround sound setup by one slide control, now it seems to be in 2. The paired speakers and then the beam and sub. Also it mentions on the help part of the app to setup by selecting home theatre, I cannot find that on the app.
Hello. Lately my Arc has had the status light alternately flashing red, white and green. There is nothing wrong with the audio, but this was never the case before. In the app's settings, I have always had the status on light disabled. I'm not sure why the lights are doing what they are doing. Should I be worried?
My Playbase stopped working in Jan 21 and after DHL didn’t pick up my old unit I referred to Sonos directly. I have asked if I can change my option of replacement so that I have a new unit and then send the old one back in the packaging. This was in Feb 21 and I have heard nothing from Sonos at all!I have contacted a number of times to be advised that my case has been escalated, but I cannot talk to the dept dealing with the escalation? It has been nearly 6 months now and I am wondering what I have to do for a replacement to be sent? This is completely unacceptable and I basically have a £700 door stop in my living room.
