HiAs title, does the sonos arc and sub gen 3 support 5ghz wifi?If they do can someone explain how I would switch to this, currently have both setup on the 2.4ghz wifi, Im sure I read that the gen 3 sub supports 5ghz, so presumed the ARC would as well. Thanks
Is it possible to turn off the visualizer, and if so how do I do that? For the first two months of using the Beam with a Samsung Frame, everything worked great and the TV switched to art mode when it timed-out. Then during the holidays, the Sonos Beam Visualizer started taking over. Likely I turned it on accidentally, but I don’t know how. BTW - we have no voice control activated. I’ve searched the Sonos site and found no info. Any assistance will be very much appreciated!
Hi all!I currently have a Playbar, sub and two 1’s for surrounds. I was ready to use my trade in towards an ARC. Didn’t take long while doing a google search for a plethora of customer issues to appear. Especially seems to be the sound cuts out quite frequently. I have an LG OLED C9 series tv. If I understand correctly, most issues seem to stem from using the apps directly through the smart tv’s (a lot of different brands). Are these issues still present if you use a fire stick? Also, something seems to be up with the Nintendo Switch? I can’t quite understand what’s going on there. I don’t NEED the ARC but i like toys and it seems like this has the potential to be pretty darn cool. Thanks in advance. Btw...idk if it matters but I use my current Sonos for 90% tv/movies and the rest for music
I’m setting up a home theater in a rectangular basement room that’s about 25-30 feet long. I’ll be using an Arc, sub, and two One SLs. The home theater setup only takes up about 15 feet of the room, so there’s 10-15 feet of open space behind the rear surrounds. Here’s my question: when I do the TruePlay setup, where it wants me to walk around the room waving my iPad or phone, should I walk around only within the 15 feet of the home theater area that ends with the rear surrounds, or should I also cover the 10-15 feet of empty space behind them in the room?
Hello Sonos and user! I have a Sonos Amp as home theatre system. It sound great in stereo but the voices are some time too low and sound effect too high. I need to adjust the volume to hear the dialog and to keep the sound effect on a bearable level. I have been playing around with the eq, dialogue enchantment button, night mode, max level, surround settings but it don’t solve the problem. The sound is really magnificent but I find the Voices are actual easier to hear from the tv speakers. I have B&W cdm1 se as front speakers, 2xOne as surrounds and no Sub. The cdm1 are about 20 years old and are precursor to B&w 706 2s. I use Nexflix and Viaplay to streaming movies. Tv Samsung 49q7 Is it possible to raise the centre channel level to enhance the dialog? Or any thing else I can do? Change front speakers? Or should I lock else where for the tv sound? Sonos Arc? /Johan
sound goes in and out when connected to sonos arc HDMI when I first turn on Samsung Frame tv. I have to unplug the HDMI cable for a few minutes and then plug back in for it to work properly. only happens when I turn TV off and then later come back and turn TV on.
Hello !After a lifetime of having average TVs and using internal speakers, this week I upgraded to an LG GX, Sonos Arc, 2 x Sonos Ones, and an Apple TV 4K.I have connected everything up and after watching one movie via Amazon Prime, which I don’t even think had Atmos, I was blown away with the experience.Having done a quick Google and also looked through the various settings within the LG and ATV menus, I assume that I won’t have the ‘optimal’ setup without making some adjustments. I know that my setup will be extremely common but I am struggling to find a thread setting out the optimal settings. Please could someone advise me on this, so I can make the most of my new setup? At the moment I am only using two HDMIs - the ATV is connected to HDMI1 and the Arc to HDMI2.Thanks in advance!
Is it possible to connect both my Sonos Beam and two hard wired speakers to my Amp for surround sound purposes whilst at the same time using the same Amp to connect to 2 separate hard wired speakers (just to play music through them but not wanting them to play the surround sound from the tv)? Or does they require 2 Amps?
We are looking to add the Sonos Arc and Amp to our current HT setup. Below is a crudely drawn picture of what we have today and how we think it will be setup. Question: Does the Arc and Amp need to be connected by wire or wireless? Can I get TV sound with both the ARC/Amp? Would we need to connect the Sonos Connect, PS4, Android and Sat. receiver directly to the TV?Appreciate any help, we are newbies at this.
Hi I have managed to find the lengths of the power cable (2m) and HDMI cable (1.5m) off the forum, thanks, why is the HDMI not the same length as the power cable, they travel the same distance TV to BEAM???? However is the UK plug moulded ? I like many will try and feed this up (string trick) a conduit in the wall, it would be handy to have a removal plug system on the end so can be fed either way, i.e down Finally sold the PLAYBAR so moving to a BEAM.Another question, anyone have the BEAM slung under a wall mounted TV, any recommendations. Whats the sound like give it is not on a solid base - rattly sound ? thanks
I current have a 5.1 system in my media room w/ a HarmonKardon AVR receiver, Klispsh speakers: two front standing, two in-ceiling surrounds, a sub and a center channel. It’s a TCL TV w/ an hdmi/arc port. Off the receiver hangs a Wii, DVD player and record player. My question: While really only wanting to keep the TV and front standing speakers (and perhaps the HarmonKardon to enable the auxiliaries) would Sonos amp (or Port?) along w/ an Arc (to replace the center, two Architecture in-ceilings, and a Sub allow me to still get 5.1 fm the TV and DVD player?
Just sold my PLAYBAR…Now trying to decide if I should replace with BEAM or ARC. Have many Sonos products including two PLAY3s we used as rear speakers with the old PLAYBAR.TV is a Samsung 2018 49" Q6F QLED 4K Ultra HD (QE49Q6FNATXXU) with HDMI ARC but no eARC, so ARC could sit underneath TV at 1140mm long.So question is it really worth it ? and will it actually work with an HDMI ARC rather than eARC and give all the Dolby Atmos benefits as there is a big difference between BEAM & ARC
Hi, my before now, perfectly working Sonos sound bar has started emitting a horrible high pitched whine all the time. I contacted support who asked me to try a few things, then send a recording of the sound, which I did, but have now heard nothing back. any ideas how I can resolve?
Hi,I am using an Arc with two rear Symfonisks. I was trying to play music through the arc when it disappeared from the app. I rebooted it and it came back but lost the trueplay tuning and I havent got an iOS device. Any chance the tuning is saved somewhere and I can get it back or do I need to tune it again?BW Joel
I just got the Sonos Arc yesterday and have been having problems with the CEC function of the TV turning off the soundbar. I had no issues with this function with my previous soundbar (putting the Apple TV to sleep, which would turn off the TV, which would turn off the soundbar). With the Arc, I can still use the Apple TV to turn off the TV but the Sonos Arc remains powered on. I’ve verified that that CEC (LG calls it SIMPLINK) is enabled and Auto Power Sync on the TV is also enabled. I’m using the HDMI cable supplied with the Sonos Arc and it is connected to HDMI2 (ARC) port on the TV. The TV recognizes that there’s a Sonos sound bar connected to that port.I’ve gone through TV setup on the Sonos S2 app and selected “Connected to ARC.” This appeared to be successful as the app confirmed this and I heard a tone from the soundbar. Is there a setting on the app that I’m missing?I’ve already tried powering down and unplugging the TV and Sonos Arc for 5 minutes but the results remain the sa
Still confused about directional hdmi cable with a soundbar. Should the arrows point from the tv’s earch hdmi port to the Sonos Arc, or from the Sonos Arc to the tv. Some people say the tv is the source for sound so the arrows should point from tv to soundbar. Others say the hdmi port on the Sonos Arc is an output so the arrows should point from the soundbar to the tv. So confused.
