Am I right I understanding that there is a long standing problem with LG TVs and the Playbar when it comes to lip sync? The last time I checked on this there was no fix and LG were unlikely to do anything about it. Does anyone had any recommendations on TVs that you are using that have good lip sync?
Hi,Had a Beam connected for about 1 year with no issues, always turn the TV off with the remote ( Sony Bravia)On turning it on this morning I didn't have any volume, on checking noticed it was set at zero so just turned it up, thinking nothing of it, upon turning the TV on this evening the same thing happened, I only have the Beam connected and that's via HDMI Arc.Also no Alexa.Any ideas ?Thanks.
Hi everyone,im in the process of doing a family room remodel and want to take the opportunity to have a better HT setup. Some background: I am not an audiophile (appolgies ) I have little kids Something that is simple that works through the TV is my preferable approach (utopia of 1 remote). I really don’t want to have an amp or somehting I need to switch on and play with to watch tvI intend to get a Samsung Frame TV with a Sonos Arc.This was really all I wanted todo, however I have an open concept living area, the family room and kitchen are one large space. There is no wall between the rooms, the couch is the separator.Im concerned about noise from the kitchen impacting the ability to watch tv. I thought maybe having some speakers in the ceiling above the couch may help with the noise transfer and make watching tv more enjoyable and help cancel out some of the noise coming from the kitchen.I see sonos have ceiling mount speakers. Am I able to wire these in and have them work with the
I noticed a lot of high end subwoofers can play really low frequencies but after running a few test frequency files, I realized I can’t get any of the lower frequencies which would round out the high quality music files and bass in movies. this be a great feature for the next Sub.
HiI have a One and One SL set up as surrounds to my Beam which work great. I want to keep this so that the One/SL kick in with the Beam as they do now when I turn on the TV.But I was wondering whether there is a way to have the One/SL work as a stereo pair (isolated from the Beam) when the TV is off so I can stream from my Android mobile for stereo sound, but then revert to surrounds automatically when the TV is turned on..I know I can do this by ungrouping the One/SL as surrounds and manually set them up as a stereo pair, then changing them back to surrounds when i want to watch TV but i was hoping there was a way to set this up automatically? Is that what Ungroup on Autoplay would do?Cheers
I have a cheap Walmart TCL Roku TV. I can control volume and turn tv OFF through the Sonos. But I can’t turn the TV on or operate the tv menu etc.The Beam blocks the TV IR.I should in theory be able to control everything through the BEAM correct? It’s weird that I can turn the TV off but not otherwise control the TV (other than the volume)
Hi folks,Thought I would post some observations I had between the Arc and Playbase in case it would be of help to anyone. Obviously these are my own opinions, others may differ I bought the Playbase a few years ago, about 6 months before it was discontinued. That didn’t feel too great, but it’s still a nice piece of kit and looks great so I stuck with it.I’ve always had a gen2 sub and 2xPlay1s connected to the PB. At various times I have thought it was lacking somewhat in terms of presenting a “full” soundstage from the front of the room. The sub and surrounds do mask that a bit; if I turned off the sub/surrounds in the app (not unpaired) the PB sounded underwhelming. It had been Truplayed at this stage. So I eventually decided it was time for the Arc, and isn’t it a nice piece of kit!I’ve been trying all sorts of side by side comparisons but the first, with the Arc and PB unpaired from any subs/surrounds, the results were surprising. The Playbase, although a narrower soundstage did ha
Hello everybody, So in my house I have a couple of Sonos Beam’s (attached to bedroom tv’s) a FIVE and then I have a surround setup as follows in the living room; ARC, Sub Gen 3 and 2x One SL. All of them are connected to my UniFi network (WiFi, no cables) and work fine, however…A lot of times the surround system breaks up, one of the speakers stops working and suddenly is back or sometimes I even have to resetup some of them (that is, within the surround setup part). What is the main difference of how the surround 5.1 setup works between those speakers compared to all the other stand alone speaker (those always work fine)? So far I can only see that the ARC = WM:1, The SL’s are WM:2 and Sub is WM:2 so i ‘guess’ it uses the ARC as main device and that one connects to the sub and 2x sl, right? Does it do that over the same wifi or creates its own? And if so, is there a way to change that?
Hello. have Beam beneath TV and then 2xSonosOne SL either side of the sofa. Set up and usage has been fine to date but recently the right SL began to drop out, and the left has followed. Issue is they keep disconnecting. The beam is working and is successfully controlled by the television remote. I have reset wifi and used truplay to retune once I have (finally) managed to get the SLs identified. my diagnosis info number is - 1378416165 Welcome any guidance and tips.
Hi all , I'm still having an audio issue that I've posted about on the community , I just wanted to ask , I want to bypass my TV for the audio , so I currently have ....sky+ hd box to TV via HDMI Optical from sky+ HD box to beam TV speakers on zero volume I take it that even though the sky box is connected via HDMI the beam is now not connected to the TV because it's connected via optical to the sky box ?
Hello, I moved from Singapore to France and bring my Sonos setup (Beam + One + One SL) purchased there with me.I was able to setup the 2 One, but not the Beam. (I did a hard reset for all oh them)I already tried couple of time to reset and restart the process, but the Beam always failed at the « account registration », and finally tell me to contact the support…Any Idea ?
I have a client who has been using the Playbar (connected to their TV via optical) and a Sonos ConnectAmp (side cabinet with no direct connection) that is connected to 2 wired speakers.Currently they are using the Sonos app to connect the “connection” between the 2 of them and playing TV audio streaming, but there’s a delay and it disconnects a lot.My question: With the network connection ports, is there a way to connect the Playbar directly/wired to the ConnectAmp and have them stream/sync together and allow for the TV volume to control the audio on all of them at once? They don’t want to be stuck to the app constantly just for volume control and it disconnecting.
I have in my great room an Arc and Sub gen 3 for watching movies etc. I also have in the same room for listening to music two play 5’s. It would e great to be able to listen to music with the sub and play 5’s with out having to decoupling the sub from the Arc. It seems to be a lot of extra work to just add some depth to my listening experience. I saw this request (now 5months old) just after receiving my Arc and Sub, but have not seen from Sonos on this topic, except it would be passed on the engineers and developers. Thanks in advance.
I've just bought and set up a new sonos Arc, every time I try to turn the volume up it resets to 15%.I've been through all the settings, loudness is on night mode is off, I've checked volume limit, that's set to 100%, this happens on all sources, tv, music streaming, blu Ray player, I'm not sure what to do, is this a return item 😢 I hope not.Any help greatly appreciated I've submitted a diagnostic number 149572032
I have had my Sonos for a few years, works very well with my 1 yr. old LG OLED TV. Model CX PUA. I use the optical audio , am sure it has HDMI eArc and Dolby Atmos. I would think I could leave the Gen 1’s and sub without upgrading the whole system? Thoughts? ThanksWTP
I am in the process of putting together a home theater/media room. Its a relatively small room, ~17' x 13', and I am putting together all the components. After spending time over a few visits at local stores and being blown away by the sound I pulled the trigger on a Sonos system. I was attracted to the other features of the system besides just movie/TV sound.I purchased a Playbar, Sub, and 2 Play 1 speakers. After doing some more research I started to have some concerns that I may have bit off more than necessary given my wants and needs. My main goal is great surround sound from movies and TV, the other streaming features are nice to have, but I am concerned I may have significantly over-payed for what will be primarily a surround sound system for my TV. Are the other features worth it?I would love to hear any feedback or advice from more experienced Sonos users. Also, I was told I did not need a bridge, however, i seem to be getting conflicting information on that. My router is downsta
I know this isn't the first discussion about this, but I'm hoping I can get some fresh ideas. Ever since I purchased Arc I've had vocals pan to the left. TruePlay on/off and about a million placement/angle/seating changes to try and balance this out, to no avail. I know the center portion of the Arc has a tweeter on the left-center position instead of dead center. Is this the issue and as such can't be fixed? I assume this isn't a big issue if you sit far away but I sit around 7.2ft from Arc, can't move back or want to. I will mention that I have two walls in close proximity to the Arc. The left side speaker has a wall to bounce off about 1m closer than the right side. I remember from Beam that could make a difference. I am thinking of getting an extra fridge (regardless) which can act as a reflection surface on the right side, evening things out. Could this fix the entire issue or is it just the weird center tweeter location? is anyone suffering from the same thing? Maybe has a tip h
Hello -I’m having some problems with the picture on my TV and my Sonos ARC (Plus two SL’s in back of the room). First of all, here is my set up. TV: Visio V Series (purchased in December 2019). My TV connects wirelessly to the internet, as does my Apple TV and my Nintendo Switch).I have 3 HDMI inputs in my TV, which are summarized as follows:HDMI 1 (ARC): My Sonos ARC SoundbarHDMI 2: My Cable box (Xfinity, if that matters)HDMI 3: I have an HDMI Switch plugged into this, which includes a Blu Ray Player, Nintendo Switch, and my 4K Apple TV The problem is that when I am watching cable or watching anything on my Apple TV, the screen goes black for a moment (anywhere from 2-4 seconds) before it resumes play. Sometimes, it will be hours before this happens, and other times, this will occur 3-4 times per hour. I *sometimes* will get a message after one of these blackouts that my TV has “found” the audio system (but not all the time). The unusual thing is that this NEVER happens when I am play
Hello everyoneI have a question for you,I have a sonos system so composed,1 Beam + 2 symfonisk x the tv (which I called living room),2 Play sl to listen to music (which I called multimedia). I would like to add the subwoofer but to use it mainly with music (almost never for videos) is it possible to do so?Because I saw in the app thatthe sub addition is only possible for the living room and not for the multimedia area.I thank you in advance.Maurizio
Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this… If I have night mode and speech mode turned on when using the TV input, and then I switch to playing music (say from Apple Music), do those two settings stay on or do they auto switch off because I am no longer using the TV input?
Hello to all.I’m a happy Sonos user, so far only with three Play:1s and one Sonos one SL.My current system is built as follows: two Play:1s coupled in stereo in the living room and the remaining two speakers in other rooms. It’s been awhile since I would like to get an upgrade for better listening, but I have two “needs”: better music quality in my living room which is quite big (about 40 square meters) and better sound from my TV set.new Arc is far too expensive at the moment Beam would be an option but, question: is it possible two couple it only with my pre-existing stereo pair made by two Play:1 and have the whole system connected to tv by an HDMI-arc connection? What do you think is the effect of this latter option for both general music listening in a large living room and also for use with TV? My other option would be a Sonos Five. This would be perfect for music but only works with tv through a normal jack, as if it was a headphone, sonot the best most probably.Do you guys have
