I recently bought a Samsung UN55KU6300 as well as a Playbar. The tv doesn't have an infrared receiver, and so the Playbar is not identifying the tv's remote. Because of this I cannot use my tv remote to control the volume on my Playbar. Has anyone experienced this and is there a work around?
I recently purchased 2x Play:3s and connected them to my Playbar and Sub (Playbar is hardwired to router). After initial setup, everything worked fine, connected and I even went through tuning. At some point in the day yesterday, the Playbar dropped the Sub and both Play:3s from the network and I have not been able to get them back on. When I hit the buttons to pair, the light continues to blink amber. When I factory reset the Sub, it will not not stop blinked red. Any ideas what to do?
I have a TV that can pass through DD5.1 which works from PS4 but not Chromecast. I assume that's because Chromecast is DD Plus which Playbar doesn't support. Does anyone know if Chromecast Ultra supports whatever's needed for it to pass the DD5.1 signal to the Playbar? Also has there been any news on Playbar ever supporting DD Plus?
I have 4 play1s and a PLAYBAR. Play1 in the kitchen. Play1 in the entryway. Pair of play1s in the bedroom and a PLAYBAR in the great room connected to the tv. I have been wanting a play5 since I heard the sound. Amazing. I was thinking to put a play5 in the bedroom and move the stereo set of play1s to the great room to do a 5.0 surround set up. Will I be satisfied with the 5? It's not a huge bedroom but it isn't small. Will I miss the stereo separation? Now I see the sub is on sale. It had me thinking I could add a sub to the PLAYBAR and keep the 1s in the bedroom. I can't afford both at the moment. I have been very happy with just the PLAYBAR in the great room. I was never interested in the sub but I keep reading on this sub (lol) how amazing it is. Is the PLAYBAR/sub better than the PLAYBAR/1s (3.1>5.0)? Is the Play5 better than a stereo pair of play 1s? PLAYBAR is attached to the tv but my priority is music. $100 off the sub and found a open box play5 for almos
The playbar somehow got dropped from my speaker grouping in one of my "rooms". Does anyone know how that could happen and how to fix? Preferable fix would not involve unplugging it because it is attached to wall mounted TV and the socket is behind the TV.
Hey all! I've been lurking as many topics regarding projector/ console + sonos setups, but I hadn't found any that included a discussion on multiple game consoles and the Playbase. So, here goes. I have the following devices:

an Acer H6510BD (with two HDMI inputs + analog 3.5mm audio out),
a Playstation 4 (not slim, not Pro) that I use as my primary entertainment center (games and streaming services), and
a recently purchased XBOX One that I need to fit into the system.
I'm interested in buying the Playbase, as I currently own the Play 5 and one CONNECT Amp in my master bedroom and wanted to expand into my living room, particularly to add surround sound capability. What I'd like help with is knowing upfront what accessories, if any, I need to get the best audio with no latency issues. Mainly I was confused about needing any HDMI/optical audio switches. If I only had the PS4, my assumption was I could run an optical audio cable straight f
I am purchasing a new Sony Z9D television, and I am trying to decide if Sonos is an appropriate solution for home theatre. I am considering using a Playbar, sub, and two connect:amps (1 for the rears and 1 for the fronts) to get my 5.1. From my research, the TV will pass through the required Dolby 5.1 via optical, so I believe I will be OK connecting to the Playbar. I've also read on here that this should work as long as I am in "Boost" mode. I have an old bridge connected to my wireless router, so does this mean I am properly configured to make this happen? Am I missing anything?
I have a Playbar, Sub, and 2 Play1's setup as a 5.1 system. However when connected to my Windows 7 HTPC I only get stereo (PCM) audio. I have tried connecting the Playbar directly to the PC's optical out port (Realtek) and also tried using the audio channel over HDMI from the TV (My TV absolutely passes 5.1 over the optical output). In both cases I get just stereo. I updated to the latest Realtek drivers and made sure that DTS was disabled and just Dolby Digital was enabled. When I do the sound check in the Windows sound applet I hear audio correctly in the left, center, right, and the 2 rear channels. But when I play a movie that is Dolby Digital 5.1 (AC3) either through VLC or KODI all I get is stereo. I've confirmed this via the Sonos app "about" section. In addition, when I had the audio going out via HDMI to the TV and then the TV's optical out port to the Playbar, the PC only shows "stereo" as the speaker setup in the Windows sound app. It should show an option for 5.1
Hey y'all, I have Playbase and 2 Play1s setup for surround. They do fine with a Dolby 5.1 signal of course (coming out of my Vizio TV). I thought Playbase was supposed to try to "mimic" surround sound do some fake things to push sound to the rear speakers when it got another signal, but so far I've noticed no sound coming from the rear speakers. I first tried it with some TV programs, admittedly stuff like John Oliver or Daily Show that wouldn't have much rear anyways, but then also recently tried it with the original Planet of the Apes on blu-ray, which has a DTS soundtrack so presumably would be fitting to at least mimic the surround even though Playbase can't do DTS. I've tried different types of outputs from my PS4 for the DVD, and it seems the same whether my settings are reading "Stereo" or "Dolby Digital 2.0" Is it just that it only works on particular encodings/situations, or that it's just VERY subtle to the point where often times you get nothing at all? I would've thought
Hi Guys, Recently purchased a playbar to be used alongside my two play 1's as a surround. I have the two play 1's set up behind either side of my sofa however when i sit on the sofa i weirdly hear the right one more than the left. I dont know if this is me going crazy or what, could someone help. Also my second question is for music streaming what are the best settings, to ensure amazing quality, the EQ and surround settings? Thanks
PLAYBASE works perfect when connected to my XBOX One Optical Out, but when connected to the Optical Out on my older Sony TV (KDL46XBR3) it does not get a signal. I have tried many settings on the TV. I know there are versions of HDMI. Are their also versions of Toslink optical cables and the digital media formats? I'm trying to determine if its a compatibility issue or HW issue.
I have a Panasonic tele and connected the sound bar to it today. I had to use hotel mode to turn the internal speakers off. Unfortunately HDMI ports 1&3 have stopped working - I suspect from accessing hotel mode. Does anyone have any experience of this and how to resolve it?
I know this is an awful first post; I beg you all please to cut me some slack. I'm a 70 yo movie buff who loves Mahler, the Band, the Grateful Dead, and Lin Manuel Miranda. My home theater system is driving my wife crazy, and I need some help. I'm hoping to emerge from all of this with a Sonos surround system and one remote control sitting on our coffee table:cool: (Yesterday, all I knew about Sonos was that you could buy speakers from them at the Apple Retail Store, which substitutes for going to church for me) Just two months ago, it was all so simple; Bose Lifestyle 35, Apple TV (4th gen), TiVo HD, a bunch of legacy stuff ("inherited" Denon DVD player, a VHS VCR with RCA video and R/L audio outputs, a rarely-connected Sony PS4 (I'd struggle with the HDMI inputs to the Base console when the grandkids came over and challenged me to video games I couldn't understand or when we'd watch one of our few BluRay movies). The Bose Remote controlled most of it (when we watc
