I know, it's another DTS thread. Sonos, I have used your products over many years. I am very impressed and right now, you are the Apple of Speakers when it comes to terms of quality and sound. I own 4 x P1s, 2 x P3, Sub + 2 x Gen 2 Play 5's and the very ... very... sad Playbar. I have read many forums over the years and I have seen the anguish between many customers. I have never really commented because my patience was long and lasting... assuming one day you would care about this one point... but you are selling a locked eco-system that has the capability to drive customers mad. As I stated, you are the Apple of Speakers... but I feel like at times, there is a Steve Jobs at your company that is saying "no" to the bigger iPhone and watching customers endure the madness. What I am getting at is that it's 2016 and there are two things that are driving me mad (it's been a slow build up). 1. The new play 5's... the GEN 2s... some genius decided that the AUX ports are disabled whe
Hi - I just bought a TV and Playbase. It was easy to set up and I like the sound, but I'd like to add the subwoofer and two Play:1s to create surround sound. However, I've heard that's not always possible, depending on TV/DVD player limitations? I've read a lot of threads and discussion about it and I think I'm more confused than when I started. Can someone help me confirm if it's worth adding the sub and Play:1s with my TV? I have a Vizio M60-D1 - in the manual for "Digital Audio Out" it says : "Changes the type of processing for digital audio out and HDMI ARC output when connected to a home theater audio system. Select Auto, PCM, Dolby, or Bitstream" I have a Samsung DB-JM57C DVD player but I can return it if it's no good. I watch movies either streaming on Amazon/Netflix, or old DVDs, and some Blu-ray DVDs. If anyone has a good DVD player to recommend I'd love to hear it. Thanks - I'd love to invest in the additional speakers but want to make sure they'll actua
My new Home wired with 8 Polk Audio In-Ceiling Speakers (TCi60i) 2 Family room, 2 kitchen, 2 dining & 2 second floor and I want to play music in all ceiling speakers. Also want to doo Zone 1 and Zone 2 Also if I am watching movie on TV , how can I have surround sound with Sonos Play bar
I currently have a TV with a Playbar and 2 Play 1's as surround in the lounge. I have added a second TV in the kitchen and I have 2 Play 3's there, which I wish to use with this TV. Do I have to buy another Player or Playbase to do this, or is there a bridge of some sort that I can use instead?
I currently have a Playbar, Sub and two Play 5's set up for surround sound. I also have a Play 1 in the corner of the kitchen. My living room, dining room and kitchen are all one large open space so the Play 1 in the kitchen adds extra sound which is really nice! The wall that the two Play 5's are on is about 40 feet in length. Currently I have the two Play 5's on said wall. One in the center the other in the right corner of the living room. I just ordered another Play 5 for the left corner so there will be three Play 5's equally spaced across the wall. My question is: (and it's probably a matter of preference) Would it be a good idea to move the center speaker (which is currently surround speaker left) all the way to the left and add the new speaker to the center so while watching TV you'd have surround far left and right with dialog in the center or leave the two current speakers as is and just add dialog to the left. Obviously during music playback it doesn't matter as they all func
So I have decided to start on my second home theater system in the family room with Sonos. Anyone have experience with a play base sub combo with vaulted ceilings? How has it worked out for you and did truplay really help time the system right for your space?
All, I own a Samsung Smart TV and a Sonos Playbar. We're in the process of remodeling our basement and I'm wondering if the Playbar can be connected in a totally wireless manner to the TV. As things are moving around there won't be a place to conceal the Playbar which is a must for us. Can this be connected through the WIFI perhaps? I know this is probably a "no" but I wanted to ask. Thanks!
We have an all Streaming household, read some limitations with play base, would like some clarification before the investment. We are building a home, and I've been interested in the SONOS system for some time. I would love to build an entire home system. One fear I have is compatibility issues I've read with Netflix and other streaming services. As a whole home streaming setup, we use Sling, Hulu, Netflix, Vudu, Plex, Pandora, Spotify, Amazon, and others for all our content. It's currently a simple setup. NVIDIA Shield TV connected to a TV, using TV speakers. We have it in two rooms currently. Will eventually be three rooms, and then when our son is in high school four rooms. Before I invest $700 on a play base, I would like to be assured we will have no issues getting the necessary audio on all of our streaming services. I appreciate any input you can provide, and I will answer questions if anyone has additional.
I recently bought a Samsung UN55KU6300 as well as a Playbar. The tv doesn't have an infrared receiver, and so the Playbar is not identifying the tv's remote. Because of this I cannot use my tv remote to control the volume on my Playbar. Has anyone experienced this and is there a work around?
I recently purchased 2x Play:3s and connected them to my Playbar and Sub (Playbar is hardwired to router). After initial setup, everything worked fine, connected and I even went through tuning. At some point in the day yesterday, the Playbar dropped the Sub and both Play:3s from the network and I have not been able to get them back on. When I hit the buttons to pair, the light continues to blink amber. When I factory reset the Sub, it will not not stop blinked red. Any ideas what to do?
I have a TV that can pass through DD5.1 which works from PS4 but not Chromecast. I assume that's because Chromecast is DD Plus which Playbar doesn't support. Does anyone know if Chromecast Ultra supports whatever's needed for it to pass the DD5.1 signal to the Playbar? Also has there been any news on Playbar ever supporting DD Plus?
I have 4 play1s and a PLAYBAR. Play1 in the kitchen. Play1 in the entryway. Pair of play1s in the bedroom and a PLAYBAR in the great room connected to the tv. I have been wanting a play5 since I heard the sound. Amazing. I was thinking to put a play5 in the bedroom and move the stereo set of play1s to the great room to do a 5.0 surround set up. Will I be satisfied with the 5? It's not a huge bedroom but it isn't small. Will I miss the stereo separation? Now I see the sub is on sale. It had me thinking I could add a sub to the PLAYBAR and keep the 1s in the bedroom. I can't afford both at the moment. I have been very happy with just the PLAYBAR in the great room. I was never interested in the sub but I keep reading on this sub (lol) how amazing it is. Is the PLAYBAR/sub better than the PLAYBAR/1s (3.1>5.0)? Is the Play5 better than a stereo pair of play 1s? PLAYBAR is attached to the tv but my priority is music. $100 off the sub and found a open box play5 for almos
