Hi Sonos Staff,Do you have diagnostics tools that I can use to analyze a Dolby Atmos bitstream?I’d like to check the Atmos bitstream that’s streaming, bitrate and output channel configuration. At the moment i only have the Sonos S2 app that tells me if the stream is Dolby Atmos or not under System Settings. It would be great if I could get deeper level logs into the playback sessions.I’m looking for tools that give me advanced level logging on the device primarily Non-atmos to Atmos Transitions, Stereo PCM output bitrates, DD and DD+ transitions, Airplay and Google Cast use cases. Thanks,Abhay
Hi all, Am looking to upgrade my home TV to the Sony KD-48A9, we already have a Sonos Beam at home which is paired with the current TV. My question is, is it worth upgrading the Beam to an Arc? i see that there seems to be an awful lot of issues with audio cut out and actually being able to find content that can fully utilise the Dolby Atmos on the Arc so really not sure if its worth the upgrade at the minute? Any help would be appreciated!
Hi Eveyonereading up I can see that using a AMP for back speakers disables the sub output! So I would need a Sonos SUB! But if I use an AMP for my existing B&W back speakers would I still be able to use Trueplay and calibrate them to the ARC and SUB? Or would two ONE SL be better?I already have a old 5.1 wired surround setup in my living room!and for music I would like to keep my bigger B&W 800 series front speakers but not sure that an extra AMP have the power to drive them… (I might miss my Center speaker? HTM1 ) Don’t know the quality of the ARC as Center? The TV should be eARC compatible OLED77C9PLAAlso my Shield Pro should be able to transcode DTS?But I have to make a decision to either go the SONOS way (User friendly and easy to use - no more HDMI inputs or buy a new surround receiver and some ceiling speakers also my TV is on a special mount where I pull the TV 65cm from the wall creating the perfect distance to the sitting position - So the ARC need to be mounted undernea
Recently disposed on my Playbar, and considering a beam or Arc as a replacement.big price difference, but if i can’t make use of all the features of the arc might as well get a beam and put the difference to a sub and stick with the two play 3 for rear speakers.this is the tv will the arc connect and make use of eARC the Atmosthanks & Merry Christmas
I bought an arc thought I’d get next lvl atmos sound… but have had nothing but headaches..it will work for a week then mid show not even pushing any buttons will just stop emitting sound until it’s hooked back up threw optical..this is beyond frustrating and no where is it made apparent if you own a Samsung tv this product won’t work... this is a big chunk of the market have they not solved this problem yet? Should I be looking for a new sound system that works..
Equipment Playbar, Subwoofer, 2x Play:1 connected to Panasonic TV 55FZ800 - All configured correctly and working. TV speakers disabled. Sonos S1 controller (due to old AMP and Play 5 in system). My issue is with the intermittent operation of rear speakers when watching sport highlights on TV.When there is studio chat this plays from Playbar only but when the chat continues and they shows some game highlight, the rear speakers kick into life and play both studio commentary and (artificial) crowd noise from the game. Does anyone else experience this and find it annoying? Is there a solution to it? Thanks in advance all for your help. Merry Christmas

I have a beam connected to a TCL tv through eARC. When I watch Cable tv (optical) the picture skips/blurs until I unplug the eARC cable from the beam and plug it back in. I have no issues watching Netflix using built in tv app or PS4 connected by HDMI. Thoughts?
I have a new Beam and I’m trying to connect it to my PC via the HDMI optical output adapter, however my Sonos app doesn’t recognize the PC as a TV properly. My PC specs: MSI MAC x570 Tomahawk motherboard with an onoard audio card: Realtek ALC-1200A, and 1x Optical S/PDIF Out.My situation right now: I connected the beam to the motherboard via the optical output adapter. I’ve come as far as the PC recognizing the beam as an external speaker (that took a loooong time). I can control the volume of the beam via the windows sound control. While it’s connected to the PC, the Sonos app on my mobile will say, that the sound is playing on a TV. However when I try the setup ‘connect the Beam to a TV’ (my PC) via the Sonos app on my mobile phone, it tells me that it can’t find any HDMI-Arc connections. The Audio output adapter on my windows is the “Realtek digital output”. I’ve tried various versions of the drivers - old and new ones. Right now I’m runnig the current system. (with various other vers
Hello guysLet me explain my setupLg OLED 4K Sonos Arc connecred to the TV by HDMI eARCXBOX Series X by HDMI to TV. The consolé recognizes the 4K TV . I download the dolby app to bring abre to select Dolby Atmos as audio firmat using bitstreamI heard that XBOX was abre to convert on the fly DTS to Dolby Atmos. If I put a game or movie with DTS, I can't hear anything . If I do the same in my PS5, I have no issues. I mean , I dont get Atmos , but Dolby surround. How should I setup the audio outout in the consolé when the bluray or game has DTS ?
I brought home an Arc yesterday and following set-up, have run into numerous issues (I’m a long-time Sonos user, have 5 other speakers, have never had issues). It’s connected to a brand new Sony A8H, with I believe all settings properly configured (eARC < Auto, Pass-thru < Auto, etc.). Some issues I’ve encountered so far: Wildly inconsistent when playing music, especially in tandem with other speakers. Three quarters of the time the speaker doesn’t even appear in the app.. Get frequent errors, delays and pauses when trying to start music when in the rare situation, the Arc does appear within the app When appearing in the app and playing music (a rare situation), volume is finicky and delayed when trying to control thru the app (might take 5 seconds for the volume to adjust to desired level). Arc seems to work when using as a soundbar with my TV - but similar to the above issue, most of the time doesn’t appear in the app. When testing with Atmos (using built-in Netflix app) -
I have just received my new Arc which I bought as an upgrade from a Playbar. I’ve ungrouped the sub and surrounds from my old Playbar and “moved” that Playbar to a different room in the app prior to sending it back SONOS. The Arc is now connected to the Sub and surrounds. How do I permanently remove the Playbar from my SONOS system and the iPhone app? It still shows up - even when completely unplugged.Thank you. Mark
For the past year or so my Playbar has started to make a clicking sound similar to the sound you would hear if you had button click sounds on and you pressed volume up/down. This only occurs while watching content from the Samsung TV it is connected to and at first it seemed random but recently we were able to narrow down a possible cause. We noticed it ONLY happens when there is music playing (i.e. theme music to a show etc). This happens regardless of the source being played on the TV… streaming netflix content or watching Live or DVR content from DISH Networks via their STB. Oddly enough, the issue DOES NOT occur when playing/streaming music from mobile device or networked content. I did submit a diagnostic report on November 18, 2020 @ 11:39pm PST within a minute of it happening. Report #: 301589063I am able to consistently reproduce the issue if an audio recording is requested. Thank you in advance!-Harry
Hi - I just got the Sonos Arc and have been using my TCL 65 R625 and its HDMI Arc (there is no eARC) to link into my new Sonos speaker. When playing select content from the embedded Roku OS in the TV on Vudu, Netflix, and Disney+, the Sonos Arc app will display the Dolby Atmos logo and under system settings it will say “Audio In: Dolby Atmos.” My question is does that mean the speaker is for sure getting the transmitted Dolby Atmos signal from the TV? The reason I ask is that I do not hear the upward facing speakers firing during these movies/shows so I just want to make sure that I am actually getting the experience prescribed. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
This is more of a request then a question, I was wondering if we can add a second set of rear speakers? I have a theater with the Sonos Arc and two play: 5 speakers for the rear. However with how the room is setup with multiple rows of seating I am looking on adding two play one SL speakers as a second set so the front row can get better rear audio. I saw today that the app allows you to add a second subwoofer, but wanted to know if we can get a second set of rear speakers for rooms that have two or more rows of seats.
I have a TCL 65R635 TV and a Sonos Playbar soundbar. I can’t seem to pair my TCL tv remote with the soundbar. Tech support said an HDMI cable needs to connect the two together, in order to sync the remote. However, my soundbar doesn’t even have an HDMI port. I’m using a digital/optical cable. Can anyone help?
HiI'm thinking of buying a Surround Set (Arc, Sub gen3, 2xOne SL) but what I can see on the forum are people with Samsung JS / JU Model TVs Audio Issue with the old PLAYBARIs there anyone here who can help and inform me if the Surround Set vill works with my Samsung JS8005 seriesIt will probably not work with Dolby Atmos but will it play out of all the speakers example in surround sound modethank you
Hello I have a Playbar on a TV in a room which also has speakers fed from a connect amp. When streaming the radio with both in a group the Playbar will cut out for around 5 - 10 seconds then cut back in, the speakers connected to the connect amp do not cut out.The playbar is hard wired with the wifi disabled, the TV is switched off. I have also tried with the wifi left on same result. When playing sound from the TV via optical there is no issue. Thanks Paul
Hi I have a Sony Bravia TV. Just trying to figure this out. My surround sound works fine using YouTubeTV directly from the TV with Arc connected to the HDMIARC. Testing a ROKU which via HDMI conenctd to another input on the TV and no surround sound. Is that normal? ANy TV settings that would make a ROKU Ultra device work with surround sound via Sonos? Hope this makes sense.
Hi everyone, i just installed a wonderful setup in my livingroom with 2 Sonos Fives and 1 Sub. Now i’d like to connect my TV with the System to have at least Stereo sound from plattforms like Disney+ or Netflix. I do know that one would need an Arc or Beam to get Dolby digital or Atmos but i just have no possibility to fit such a soundbar to the TV as it “disappears” or rather folds down into our couchtable and there is simply no room left. We don’t want our livingspace to be focused around a TV - that’s why we will not rethink this setup. Our TV is a 32” Samsung QE32Q50R - so quite new and has HDMI Arc as well as analog output. But only supports Bluetooth for external speakers. My idea was to stick a Sonos port underneath the table to transmit the signal to the Fives and sub but then there is the delay between image and sound. So - does anyone know how to get a stereo setup for tv without having to install a soundbar?Thank you for your help.
