Hi just a quick question;I own a SONOS Arc.I’m thinking about upgrading my tv to Philips OLED804 (or 805). These tv’s dont have eARC.Will I be able to get ATMOS sounds?Furthermore, if I connect an AppleTV 4K to the Philips… does that send an ATMOS signal thru my TV to the SONOS Arc???Also any thought on lip sync issues on this combination?Would like to know before spending a lot of money. Thanks for the input!
I’ve heard it recommended (and understand the reasoning) that the Arc should be placed on the edge of a cabinet/stand so that the full range offorward facing speakers won’t be partially blocked/reflect up, but I was wondering how noticeable of an impact that really has? My TV is over a mantel and the Arc will fit nicely up there, but my wife isn’t wild about it being on the edge. For visual appeal it would look best in a position that is probably 3-4” back from the ledge of the mantel. Just wondering if it’ll distort the sound to the point it’s not worth the money for the Arc to have it sit back a bit--or is it not that big of a deal in the scheme of things? Your thoughts/perspective are greatly appreciated! (FYI As far as the up firing speakers, these will regardless of position be plenty out from the TV—so that’s good for the Atmos.)
My surround setup stopped working recently. It’s unclear what the reason is. My ip ranges changed due to a new modem and needed to reconfigure my sonos system. However i don’t think that is the reason…My setup:TV audio out: HDMI / ARC: auto (setting it to PCM makes no difference)DTV audio: auto (setting it to Dolby Digital makes no difference)My Beam is setup with two play1 speakers but audio input still says Stereo 2.0 when i look at “About my system” in the system settings section in the app.I tried everything imo…Any suggestions?
Hello, Setting up a Playbar to my LG OLED C8. I read the configurations and was able to get the magic remote to be recognized and both mute and increase volume worked. However, even though volume recognizes on screen that I am pushing to lower volume, no changes are made on the Playbar. Thus, volume can be increased but not decreased. Only on the Playbar itself only volume be done manually lowered. Let me know if anyone has experienced this and what ideas to fix. I am using Optical out configuration. However, back to using only the TV speakers until this can be resolved. Mahalos,Ryan
I only have 1 cat6 home run cable running to my TV area from my internet router. Currently I have it plugged into my TV to give me a hard-wired connection. I would also like to hard-wire my Sonos Playbar at the same location. I noticed my playbar has 2 ethernet ports. Do these two ports on the playbar work like a network switch? In other words, can I plug the cat6 home run cable into one ethernet port on the playbar and my TV that sits above my playbar into the other ethernet port on the playbar and effectively get 2 hardwired connections back to my internet router? See wiring diagram below.
Firmware 12.2 has been out and we’ve got official support for PCM playback capability. I wanted some idea on which one is better AppleTV playing Dolby Atmos/TrueHD- AppleTV converts it to PCM (as Apple doesn’t support TrueHD/Atmos)- LG B9 with eARC pass through- Sonos app shows Multichannel PCM 7.1 vs Nvidia Shield playing Dolby Atmos/TrueHD- Nvidia Shield sends signal as Atmos/TrueHD- LG B9 with eARC pass through- Sonos app shows Dolby Atmos (TrueHD ) I personally found TrueHD to richer and seemed to have a wider surround sound.
Been following the forums for a while. I have Sonos ARC, sub gen 3, two one sl and a beam.Since ive had my ARC and the S2 upgrade im a bit underwhelmed by the lack of additional features it brings. Features get requested on the forums but nothing really seems to happen with them, I don't feel Sonos as a brand being too slow to add new features to the S2 app etc. There are so many things that need adding such as, the main screen showing the audio formats being played rather than just atmos, being able to control individual channels such as front and height channels, many other features that get requested but never see the light of day.. For such a new product as the ARC I want to see new things added to it etc… Also would like to see some rear up firing speakers to be added to the Sonos line…Rant over…
I was so excited to get my Sonos Arc up and running only to realize that this soundbar has issues with sound sync. Unfortunately they’re saying it’s something that can happen with LG OLED TV’s. I wish I knew this before I bought it. My cheap Vizio sound bar had no such issues.
I’ve got a Sonos Arc paired with a Connect:Amp and I’m experiencing issues while watching Atmos content on Netflix via my Apple TV 4k.The audio has weird issues where the output of the Arc intermittently gets very quiet or cuts out completely and when that happens the output from the rear speakers powered by the Connect:Amp get’s much louder. I’d specifically say that the audio never fully cuts out, just seems to be some communication issue between the Arc and Connect:Amp. The Arc and Connect:Amp are both wired on the same UniFi switch. LG B8 Oled with Apple TV 4K Sonos Arc connected via ARC - wired Sonos Connect:Amp as LS+RS - wired Sonos Sub (wireless) Support diagnostics confirmation: 122881592
I have a Sonos SL and a new Beam in adjoining rooms. The Beam is connected to a TV via audio return channel. In the app, I group the Beam with the SL, and for the Beam I enable TV Autoplay, and enable Ungroup on AutoPlay.I turn on the TV, but the Beam does not Ungroup. I’ve powered off and on the Beam and SL - no change. How can I fix?(If helpful, diagnostics 197345318)
I’m trying to get 5.1 LPCM to work from my Xbox One X through my LG GX to my Arc, after the new FW update that enables LPCM on the Arc. I have the LG GX (should be the same as CX) with that HDMI port set to PCM input, pass-through output, and eARC is enabled. When I first tried this, I was able to select “5.1 Uncompressed” on the Xbox, and the audio worked but cut in and out (about every second). I then turned everything off and back on, but after I did that the Xbox wouldn’t let me select “5.1 Uncompressed”, instead saying that my “AV Receiver” doesn’t support that. What am I missing here?
Can anyone recommend me an HDMI switch to connect Sonos Arc to my LG C9 TV? I’ve searched other topics on the lip sync issue on LG TVs and seems like this is the most popular answer. Is this method also able to fix the lip syncing coming from the native apps in the tv itself? I bought one brand off Amazon, but it doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Streaming from the Apple TV does fix the lip sync but the Apple TV seems to have lower video and audio quality, and older apps, than the LG so I’d prefer not to use it. The lip sync issue is bad and very noticeable to me. I would like to be able to get the Arc to work without needing to return it.
Hi, I’ve just changed from 2 x Play 1’s to Play 3’s with a sound bar. I’ve paired them to act as a pair and connected to the sound bar. The sound at works fine but there no audio coming out the play 3’s. They all work fine when playing music from Spotify as a complete system but nothing when connected to the TV audio. Any ideas? As I say this was all working fine with the play 1’s.
Hi!It maybe a stupid question but just would like to know if there's any improvement on watching the contents from the streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV + and the movies purchased or rented from iTunes Movies after this update? Thanks!
Can the software be updated to allow a 5.1.4 set up? This would simply mean allowing the addition of two Sonos architectural ceiling speakers (placed towards the rear) to a Sonos Arc surround setup (adding rear atmos). Doesn’t seem like that’d pose a huge technical challenge for Sonos—or am I wrong?
Hello to all.I’m a happy Sonos user, so far only with three Play:1s and one Sonos one SL.My current system is built as follows: two Play:1s coupled in stereo in the living room and the remaining two speakers in other rooms. It’s been awhile since I would like to get an upgrade for better listening, but I have two “needs”: better music quality in my living room which is quite big (about 40 square meters) and better sound from my TV set.new Arc is far too expensive at the moment Beam would be an option but, question: is it possible two couple it only with my pre-existing stereo pair made by two Play:1 and have the whole system connected to tv by an HDMI-arc connection? What do you think is the effect of this latter option for both general music listening in a large living room and also for use with TV? My other option would be a Sonos Five. This would be perfect for music but only works with tv through a normal jack, as if it was a headphone, sonot the best most probably.Do you guys have
Hey guys, I recently bought an Arc and wanted to upgrade my TV to support Atmos. I was looking at the TCL 8 series and noticed that with the latest firmware update it has eARC enabled. My understanding was that only if the TV had HDMI 2.1 it would have eARC . Since it isn't HDMI 2.1 but the firmware update enables eARC , how would it work exactly? Would the TCL 8 series after the update be able to play Atmos? Thanks in advance!
I have a Beam and 4 Sonos one, two of them are surround speakers for my TV. And these two are not working properly. Not only that they are mostly so loud that i cannot hear the spoken dialogues (tried the speech enhancement and night mode) they also sometimes do not play music, when all speakers connect to ie spotify. Also most of the time the white LED is flashing, though i toggled LED status and touch controls off. I unplug them all the time, power it on and off, reset, remove them as surround speakers, add them again. The problems stay. Funny thing is that the other two speakers in the same room that i do not use as normal speakers work without problems. No flashing LED, no disappearing sound. Diagnostic code is 1029968204 thanks and regardsBen
