I have tried for hours to add my two Play 1 speakers, but at best only one is showing up as installed. This has been working fine before, but I recently had to replace my Sonos Playbar. I now have a new Playbar and (my old) Sonos Sub, which both are working fine. I have tried to switch between my both WLANs, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghhz, without success. And I have also successfully setup both speakers as separate speakers and that is working fine, no problem. I don't know what more to do. I have sent in a Diagnostics file to Sonos support, 7536416.
I recently purchased the SONOS Playbase. It is working when I watch free to air tv, but there is no sound when I connect my laptop via HDMI cable to my TV. I've also tried connecting an audio cable from my laptop to my tv and there is still no sound coming through the SONOS Playbase. My TV is a Samsung PS-50C91HD. I'm wondering if the issue is that I can't change my TV's audio from MPEG to Dolby Digital (something I've been speaking to Samsung about with no success). The TV's manual says "Dolby Digital sound is only available when the TV is connected with an external speaker using an optical cable" which it is - yet I still can't change it from MPEG to Dolby Digital (it is greyed out in the menu). I'm also wondering if it matters that when I set up my SONOS, my laptop wasn't connected to my TV via the HDMI cable. Please, please if anyone can help me it would be so appreciated. Laymans terms would also be much appreciated.
Hi Sonos I'm having inconsistent luck with getting Foxtel now to work well with my surround system I have recently installed. I have a Sony smart tv with a sonos playbase and two play ones at the rear. the sonos is setup as a surround sound system. The sonos plays awesome on mp3s, fine on general tv, but i'm having inconsistent luck with getting Foxtel now to work well with this setup. I've just tried a movie and sound would only come out of the playbase and nothing on the smaller speakers. I've tried music channels and sometimes I get all speakers working and some songs it doesnt. This a new Sonos setup and I'm new to Foxtel. So I'm wondering if I have everything setup as best I can. Or do I just have to realise that Sonos and Foxtel dent work well together? Im stumped. Do you have any ideas for me? Cheers, Anthony
I've recently added some SONOS to my lounge room and I'm wondering if this particular setup will work ok? I have a play base, two play ones at the rear and was thinking of using my two play fives at the front either side of the play base. I'm wondering if this is an ideal setup or should I get rid of the two play fives at the front? I guess I would like to know will it add anything? I've heard play 5's weren't designed to be added to a surround sound system? If someone could clarify these questions that would be awesome. Cheers, Anthony
Hi, I am planing a surround sound system for our TV room at the moment. I'm thinking of buying a playbar for under the TV and a sub plus 2 smaller speakers for the back. I then also want to be able to use this setup for music (without the TV being on) - will this be possible? How would I connect them all? I am thinking playbar into TV via optical cable, sub connected wirelessly to the bridge which I've already got? For the two speakers in the back I would either choose 2x Play 1, or alternatively a connect:amp plus standard speakers? The latter would make the cabling easier. What sort of passive speakers should I be looking for? They should be rather small and have a white body. Or would ceiling speakers be suitable for this? The main sitting area is right at the back wall opposite the TV (approx 6m distance) The ceiling speakers would be in the back corners of the room, above the couch. Many thanks in advance, Christian [img]f695fb2a-6888-443c-bcba-8d7fc66f2
I recently bought a new LG OLED55C7V and connected to my Sonos 5.1 set up. I have a Sky+ plus box connected to the TV via HDMI and the TV connected to Sonos through optical. Yesterday the same configuration was sending Dolby Digital 5.1 however it is now sending Pause Burst. I have submitted diagnostic: 7532025.
Been reading, ad nauseum about this DTS decoding issue with Playbar/Playbase. If I were to get an optical switcher such as this: (multiple optical inputs into 1 optical output) https://www.amazon.com/Tendak-Optical-Switcher-Control-Digital/dp/B00Y0K9YXK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498317719&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=optical+audio+switch&psc=1 And hook up my PS4, Directv box, via their audio outs into this switch and the optical out into the playbar/playbase, will that get me DTS when watching blu-ray via PS4 and any DTS from my Directv box. I would be hooking the PS4 and Directv box into the TV (panasonic un60f8000) via HDMI. i.e Hooking up all my accessories (PS4, Directv box) to TV via HDMI hooking up all my accessories to optical switch via optical cables and then output that switch to playbar Or do I need to do something more (such as get an HDMI switch with TOSLINK output). I'm almost ready to take the full SONOS plunge, just want to be sure i'm thinking of this right.
I am having trouble setting up these components as a surround system. This is what I have done so far. 1. Setup connect:amp as Standard setup with my house speakers and it worked. 2. Setup playbar as Standard setup with my TV and it worked. 3. Connected playbar and connect:amp to router via ethernet to change to Boost setup and now both of them cannot be found. I'm a newbie! What am I doing wrong?
I have a soundbar and 2 play:1' s connected to my samsung tv. What i find when watching channels lije the news m is that speech only comes from the soundbar and the rear play:1's are quiet. Then the adverts come on the tv, the speech is replaced by music and the rear speakers come alive and ive got sound all around. Is the speech only from the soundbar a feature of the system or have i not got the system set up correctly? Does anyone else have this annoying feature? Thanks

Hi - I just bought a TV and Playbase. It was easy to set up and I like the sound, but I'd like to add the subwoofer and two Play:1s to create surround sound. However, I've heard that's not always possible, depending on TV/DVD player limitations? I've read a lot of threads and discussion about it and I think I'm more confused than when I started. Can someone help me confirm if it's worth adding the sub and Play:1s with my TV? I have a Vizio M60-D1 - in the manual for "Digital Audio Out" it says : "Changes the type of processing for digital audio out and HDMI ARC output when connected to a home theater audio system. Select Auto, PCM, Dolby, or Bitstream" I have a Samsung DB-JM57C DVD player but I can return it if it's no good. I watch movies either streaming on Amazon/Netflix, or old DVDs, and some Blu-ray DVDs. If anyone has a good DVD player to recommend I'd love to hear it. Thanks - I'd love to invest in the additional speakers but want to make sure they'll actua
I currently have a TV with a Playbar and 2 Play 1's as surround in the lounge. I have added a second TV in the kitchen and I have 2 Play 3's there, which I wish to use with this TV. Do I have to buy another Player or Playbase to do this, or is there a bridge of some sort that I can use instead?
All, I own a Samsung Smart TV and a Sonos Playbar. We're in the process of remodeling our basement and I'm wondering if the Playbar can be connected in a totally wireless manner to the TV. As things are moving around there won't be a place to conceal the Playbar which is a must for us. Can this be connected through the WIFI perhaps? I know this is probably a "no" but I wanted to ask. Thanks!
I currently have a Playbar, Sub and two Play 5's set up for surround sound. I also have a Play 1 in the corner of the kitchen. My living room, dining room and kitchen are all one large open space so the Play 1 in the kitchen adds extra sound which is really nice! The wall that the two Play 5's are on is about 40 feet in length. Currently I have the two Play 5's on said wall. One in the center the other in the right corner of the living room. I just ordered another Play 5 for the left corner so there will be three Play 5's equally spaced across the wall. My question is: (and it's probably a matter of preference) Would it be a good idea to move the center speaker (which is currently surround speaker left) all the way to the left and add the new speaker to the center so while watching TV you'd have surround far left and right with dialog in the center or leave the two current speakers as is and just add dialog to the left. Obviously during music playback it doesn't matter as they all func
I recently purchased 2x Play:3s and connected them to my Playbar and Sub (Playbar is hardwired to router). After initial setup, everything worked fine, connected and I even went through tuning. At some point in the day yesterday, the Playbar dropped the Sub and both Play:3s from the network and I have not been able to get them back on. When I hit the buttons to pair, the light continues to blink amber. When I factory reset the Sub, it will not not stop blinked red. Any ideas what to do?
