Il love my sonos playbar and my LG.OLED tv ( I submitted my audio diagnostics 7784318). They are connected via optical cable and work spectacularly. However, I get 1-2 seconds of audio dropout every 5 minutes or so. I can live with it, but annoying. Is there a fix?
I'm having issues with my LG oled B6 (running webOS) and the native YouTube app. When I play a video, the audio doesn't play most of the time. If I reload the video, audio does sometimes kick in, but it's inconsistent. If I switch the audio to LG SoundSync (optical) then the audio plays fine. But standard optical (Optical/HDMI AMC). Wassup wit dat then?
Just updated to v7.4, and now with the Netflix app and also watching T.V. The sound has been dropping out. I have an LG UH8500 set on the Audio Out (opticle/HDMI Arc), when it drops out I can switch it to LG sound sync (opticle) and the sound will kick back on but I can only get stereo and not 5.1. Please let me know what I can do. Thanks in advance. Like (0) Quote More
I have my Sonos PlayBar connected via an optical connection to my LG EF950V OLED TV. I'm having an issue where the sound from the TV stops, like someone has put it on mute. The only way to resolve that issue is to switch the TV off and back on again. This is has gotten worse with the latest update and I now sometimes lose sound when I change the TV channel. Sometimes it comes back again after a few seconds, other times I have to switch the TV off and on again to resolve it. My PlayBar details just now are; PLAYBAR: Home Cinema Version: 7.4 (build 37244160) Hardware Version: 184.108.40.206-2 Audio In: Dolby Digital 2.0 My TV details are; Software Version: 04.25.56
Since the upgrade to Version: 7.4 (build 37244160) I have lost sound from Netflix on my smart TV. Other souches all work, but netflix has no sound, occassionally if I turn it up and down and fiddle it will come on. I need to restart the TV to get sound on netflix. Is there some setting that has changed?
Recently I upgraded my Sonos to the latest software(Privacy update) successfully but noticing some performance degrade when I stream music. Especially SUB. I used to play the same song before and the base was sharp and crispy. I did not change any settings . Just wanted to know if there is any known issue. How can I make sure there is no issue with my SUB performance. Thank you Manoj
Hello there i added a playbar and instantly thought the volume was very very quiet at almost full volume. Then i had a idea about the optical volume setting. I checked the optical settings for my Samsung tv and found that the optical setting was set to maximum. So I then set it to -10. And then factory reset my playbar and went threw the pairing procedure again for the play bar. This has made the volume way louder and by then going to optical volume in tv and setting it to maximum again added extra volume. So if you think your playbar is low on volume try setting optical volume to minimum and reset up your paybar.
I bought the Sonos Soundbar, the Sonos Subwoofer, and two Play:3 speakers as surround sound speakers. As others posting reviews here and elsewhere have pointed out, Sonos wants you to use your TV as a hub, with all the inputs from your devices (Apple TV, Cable, etc.) going to the TV and then the optical audio out from the TV to the Playbar. However, most TV's won't pass Dolby Digital (DD) 5.1 surround from HDMI to the digital/optical audio (i.e., the Playbar), so what you get in most cases is stereo with muted simulated surround sound that is NOT surround sound from your surround speakers. After reading numerous reviews and comment boards on many websites, I tried (and was successful) with the following solution: I purchased a Shin Kin 4x2 Remote Control Digital Optical TOSlink Audio Fiber Optic Selector Switch Switcher Splitter (currently sold on Amazon for approximately $69.95). I connected each of my devices (I have Apple TV and DirectTV) to the "Optical Input" switches (calle
Is it possible with the playbase? I just set mine up and used the satellite dish remote but would also like to be able to adjust volume using my lg magic remote. I found instructions on how to set up the infrared remote but I don't want to use it exclusively. Just wanted to confirm that only one remote can be configured. The instructions say "only one remote can be configured at a time" but does this mean that only one an be used after configuration?
Sonos isn't consistently recognizing audio from Roku. My setup is a playbar, sub and two PLAY 3s. It's been working til now but either the latest update or a thunderstorm last night has affected the system. Netflix sound works, but HBO Now and Amazon show up as "unsupported audio." Files a diagnostic. Number 7774787. Please help.
I have been using a playbase with a couple of play:1's for surround for a few months, and after the latest update the playbase disappeared from the controller. When i tried to add everything back it didn't seem to want to connect to the Wifi. I factory reset all the speakers in the surround setup and connected them all by cable and reconnected them all through the controller. When i try to configure the wifi and select my network and key it just says "wireless problem". Now I feel like ive tried everything, but it just wont connect. All the other speakers in my house work just fine, and if i disconnect the surround speakers they all work fine aswell. I've submitted a diagnostic: 7772359
Hello, My old system had a reciever. I could enable advanced surround sound and my 2.1 would play voice on all 5 speakers and the left right and left rare would play the left sound and the right front and right rare would play the right. Is this possible with a 5.1 setup with bonos with the bar and 2 speakers? Is there a setting or way to do it? I did ready this might be a possible solution but am not sure. I have not purchased this yet just doing research. Thanks! Inside your Room Settings for the PLAYBAR and PLAYBASE are two additional options. Music playback which allows you to choose between two settings for the surround speakers: Ambient: Default option; subtle, ambient sound. Full: Enables louder, full range stereo sound. Selecting Full has the surround speakers playing stereo along with the PLAYBAR when you have a music source playing, this has no effect when playing TV.
This is my 2nd tv and i am still getting terrible sync problems. My last tv was a samsung and i have just bought an oled c7 thinking it would cure the problem but it is just as bad. i am really getting fed up with the sonos playbar and i am losing faith in the product. im using optical from the tv to the playbar. It also does it when i plug the optical lead from sky Q to the playbar. I have tried everything possible but no luck. Reading on here there are a few people with the same problem. its starting to get me down.
Hi guys, I’ve recentely heard about SONOS I wouldn’t say that I am an audiophile but I love music and speakers setup. It was very nice to see that SONOS has a very active community and I am think about building a home theater setup with SONOS speakers. So I would like to clarify couple doubts, and check whats the best setup possible, that the community would recommend. I was thinking about using the Playbar as Center Speaker purchase to new PLAY:5 and use as left and right speaker, and two PLAY:3 or PLAY:1 as surround speakers at the back. 1 - Is this the best setup? Do I need to buy anything else? For what I read I don’t need the BRIDGE or CONNECT to make this work right, just plug an Ethernet caple to the playbar? 2 – I want to use those speakers with my TV LG 55EG9600 and I would hate having to go to the cellphone app to turn volume up and down. I will be able to control all speakers volume with the magic remote ? Anyone had any trouble doing that with NEW LG tvs? 3 – Is the
Is there a way to switch from Music to TV, or vice versa, using a remote control (i.e. outside the Sonos app). In our Living Room with a Vizio display and Sonos Playbar we are often listening to music while the TV is on. At times, we'd like to quickly switch to the TV's Audio and grabbing the remote would simply be more convenient than finding an iPhone and firing up to Sonos app. Is there a way to program a remote to control the Sonos Playbar Audio source?
Configuration is a Playbase and a pair of Play 1 surrounds. Audio drops from surrounds on occasion while playing from Spotify, or TV. Diagnostic 7765999 submitted shortly after most recent event. White light flashes on Play 1 but Playbase continues to play. Setup is wireless. Router furthest from Playbase (10m), Play 1s are closer. Any thoughts?
I have connected my sound bar to a new MU7000W tv and have found that the volume button on the TV remote does not work. I have looked at other posts on these forums and have not found a fix for the Samsung MU7000W model. Does any one have any ideas?
