Setup the new beam today, no problem getting it working. Problem is with lip sync - I have a Samsung UHD 8000 series with Sky (in the UK). Beam is connected via ARC. Tried adjusting delay via the app and TV and can’t get it to sync, so really frustrating. Any ideas? Didn’t have this problem with the Playbar (connected via optical). Thanks Toby
Sub disabled when Setting up SONOS CONNECT:AMP as Surround Rears Why are you disabling the subwoofer out when configuring the Connect Amp to drive non-Sonos rear speakers with a Playbar? I have a my own sub that i want to connect to the Connect Amp so that it can be driven along with the rest of the system. I do not want to buy another Sonos sub. Surely this would just be a software or firmware update that is easily achievable.
Hi All, My wife likes the Sonos Playbar, while I like the Bose 300. I have owned Bose products in the past. Listening to the demo at Best Buy, the Bose sounds better. The sales people say the Sonos demo is not very good. Being a professional nerd, I research everything. I have been monitoring both user support sites and I am having second thoughts about the Bose. There sure SEEMS to be a lot of basic issues with software updates on the Bose side. Slow or no responses. Both are the same price so nothing to go on there. As we get "older" it is more important to have clear dialog and not knock pictures off the wall when a car explodes. We mostly watch movies, sports and TV. Some music but not the priority. Harmony remote and Alexa. My main question is, from the communities perspective, would you buy it again and any comments of why Sonos is better than Bose? How has the support been? Are they listening to you? Do updates break more than they fix? Anothe
After updating to S2, my Beam started making a buzzing sound when playing from the tv. If I disconnect the cable from the tv hdmi ARC port , the sound keeps buzzing and only Stops. when I disconnect the cable from the beam the buzzing only comes from the beam and not from the surrounds im using the included original cable when playing music from Spotify it plays normally. any idea what might be causing this? thanks,
I am having a problem with my brand new Onkyo TX-NR686 that is advertised as "Works with Sonos" actually connecting to my new Sonos Connect for the purpose of having the receiver turn on and the input switched so the Sonos Connect input. I have updated the Onkyo to the latest firmware. All my Sonos speakers and connects are at the latest 10.0 update. I connect the Sonos Connect to the CD analog inputs on the Onkyo like the instructional video specifies. I go through all the correct settings on the Onkyo as per the instructions. The Onkyo and Connect are on the same network and subnet. I have verified that I can see both units on my network. The Sonos system works fine and I can even manually turn on the Onkyo and change the input to CD and the Connect music comes through fine. However the reason I bought it and the Connect is because of the "Works with Sonos" integration feature that automatically is supposed to turn on the Onkyo receiver and change inputs to the Sonos inpu
Trying at add a pair of Symfonisk bookshelf speakers as surrounds to my Beam. I set them up and confirmed they were working individually. Then I tried adding them as surrounds.I go thru the setup and it fails saying “There is a problem adding your surrounds. Check the network connection and make sure your products are powered on. Try again.” They are powered on and network is working fine (could play music up until starting the setup).Pressing “Try again” instantly gets the same error. If I exit the setup, the Living Room (where the Beam is) now says “Living Room (+?+?)” and I have “Remove Surrounds” in the rooms menu. I tried playing something in 5.1 but no sound is coming from them. The 2 Symfonisks are also now gone from my system and I need to factory reset them to get them to appear in the app again. How do I setup the surrounds properly without error?
Hi I’ve got the new Sonos arc and it’s connected to my Samsung Q90R tv via the arc HDMI, my TV viewing is with Sky Q 2tb box. I’m getting lip sync issues being slightly out, I have adjusted the audio settings to zero on my sky box TV and Sonos app but still no joy. I had the playbar before with no problems any help pleased.
I read a rumor somewhere that Sonos intends to issue a firmware update for the Arc that would allow for a volume slider in the S2 App to independently control the volume of the height channels (upfiring drivers) on the Arc. Can someone please confirm if they have knowledge of or have heard that is true. Thanks in advance
Incredibly frustrating. Trying to use Sonos PLAYBAR + SUB + 2 PLAY 1s for home theater. Have tried it on two different TVs (Samsung & Vizio) with HDMI inputted content (cable box & DVD player), also with internal apps native to each TV. No matter what there's a millisecond delay between video lip flap and sound coming through the Sonos system. Before you ask, yes of course I've tried every possible way to adjust sound sync using both the settings within the Sonos app and also within the TV menus. I've read every Sonos forum post on it, and it's never conclusive and only offers suggestions to do what I've already tried. And believe me: I've tried it all. Anyone? I had high hopes for Sonos because I can't run wires in my house to the particular area I need the surround speakers to be. Alas nothing's working and the only remaining to do is return the whole thing. Disappointed! (Kevin Sorbo voice)
We bought the Samsung 55" UHD curved LED Smart TV on Amazon Prime Day July 12, 2016 but its smart remote won't control my Playbar's sound. I'm using the Optical jack on the TV and can hear good sound from the Playbar, but can't control the volume. I used the Sonos Settings --> Remote Control Setup to no avail... The remote seems to use IR. Any ideas would be appreciated since both are 2016 models.
Got my Beam today (16th) and am pleased with it so far, but I'm having to boost the TV volume much higher that it was with the TV speakers. Without the Beam the TV was at about the right volume at a setting of 30 whereas via the Beam it needs to be in the 70's to 80's (and thats nearly maxed out) to get the same perceived volume It's a Sony Bravia TV with the Beam connected via the HDMI ARC and a pair of Play:1s as surrounds. Anybody got any suggestions as to either TV or Sonos settings. I've played TV Level slider from the app. but it doesn't seem to make much impact? I'll continue playing about in the meantime
Come on SONOS 7.1 and 7.2 Surround Sound is already years old, 9.1 & 9.2 seen as its update, A SONOS 7.1 system would be very much in demand, loads of questions on here already about producing it, Id buy today if it was available, 7.1 channels with that SUB, awesome, come on SONOS make us even happier,...
My Sonos Arc connected to Sony Bravia TV (new and earc capable, drops sound randomly. Appears to be a known issue neither Sonos or Sony care much about. After a month of this happening I must say I am totally over this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will Sonos or Sony acknowledge the issue!!!!!!!!??????? Unlikely 🤔. Ok how about fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HiThought I would create this thread as a few have reported this issue in the lpcm update threads that are marked as solved so perhaps best to keep it separate.Issue:Before the LPCM update last week my sonos arc would receive atmos and Dolby digital 5.1 from the Apple tv 4k box, audio settings were set to the default AUTO-Atmos available. My LG CX is capable of passing LPCM. Now since the LPCM update with the above settings I still get atmos from apps such as netflix, apple tv + on the apple 4k box, but any content in dolby 5.1 is now outputting as multichannel PCM 7.1, 7.1 being the issue, it should be outputting as multichannel PCM 5.1 I have seen similar posts with this issue on the same device and other devices as well. Thank you
Hi All, I’ve recently jumped on the media bandwagon and picked up an Arc and Sub Gen 3 for $1,900 CAD (really?). I was upgrading form a 5-yr old trusty LG 320W 2.1 soundbar which served me well for 5 years. I thought Arc is the next best thing in the soundbar world. Boy, was I wrong! I honestly don’t know who can produce such a crappy product unless Sonos was trying to save themselves from bankruptcy by releasing this “marvel” of sound engineering. First of all, the Arc sounds BRIGHT, like really bright and has horrible MID frequency response and that’s combined with the SUB! I wanted to save my ears and decided not to try it without the sub… And here I am testing some stereo music… Vocals feel very disconnected from the music due to an overemphasis on the central channel. This is not a soundbar for music - period! You want to listen to music? Get anything but Sonos! Playing stereo signal through an Arc feels like you are having 3 speakers: 1 for bass, 1 for vocals and another on
I know, it's another DTS thread. Sonos, I have used your products over many years. I am very impressed and right now, you are the Apple of Speakers when it comes to terms of quality and sound. I own 4 x P1s, 2 x P3, Sub + 2 x Gen 2 Play 5's and the very ... very... sad Playbar. I have read many forums over the years and I have seen the anguish between many customers. I have never really commented because my patience was long and lasting... assuming one day you would care about this one point... but you are selling a locked eco-system that has the capability to drive customers mad. As I stated, you are the Apple of Speakers... but I feel like at times, there is a Steve Jobs at your company that is saying "no" to the bigger iPhone and watching customers endure the madness. What I am getting at is that it's 2016 and there are two things that are driving me mad (it's been a slow build up). 1. The new play 5's... the GEN 2s... some genius decided that the AUX ports are disabled whe
I am searching for a Blu Ray player that can convert DTS and other formats to Dolby Digital 5.1., so I can enjoy my DTS Blu Rays with full 5.1. via the Sonos Playbar (+ 2 Play:1). Sonos has recommened a line of Samsung Blu Ray Players in this thread: https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1945/~/maximizing-playbar-sound-from-your-television Unfortunately most of these are not on the market anymore. Can anyone recommend any Blu Ray players that can convert DTS and other formats to Dolby Digital 5.1.? All Best Anders, Denmark
Hi, I'm sure this is really easy to fix, but am struggling.....I installed my Playbar today, I have a Sony TV which I control with my Sky remote. I have got the sound coming from the Playbar and changed the speakers to Audio System on the TV to do this. However, although I can control the sound from my Sky remote, everytime I change the sound I get the message "TV Volume is Fixed". Any ideas how toi disable this?
I purchased a Sony KD85X91J in July equipped with eARC so I could listen to content from my Apple TV 4K in Dolby Atmos. The problem I have is whenever I play Atmos content (and ONLY Atmos content). Every so often the Arc has a quick popping sound followed by the Arc losing audio until I back out of the Atmos content I was watching. When I back out I can start the content again in Atmos and it will work for a while until the pop and audio cut out happens again. I have a 5.1 setup with the Arc, 2 One SL’s and a Gen 3 sub. The bass and surrounds still play audio after the cut out. Only the Arc is affected. The HDMI cables i am using are both rated to handle Atmos content. Link to the cables being used is below. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S1CGQ9Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Is there a fix for this issue? It’s very frustrating investing into a system that cannot deliver what it advertises and I’m hoping theres something I’m missing that will easily solve th
