I have an lg television 49UN711C0ZBwhich is connected to my Sonos arc through the earc port and the sound set to pass through to the sound bar.HDMI 1 is set to bitstream and I have connected a Sony input x800m2 blue ray player.this is my second blue ray player that I have bought when playing a film the trailers sound amazing with the Sonos app reporting that they are a 5.1 formatas soo. As the film starts to play the sound quality drops and the effects are reduced.the Sonos app is reporting the sound as stereo.this is frustrating as I get Arnos and 5.1 when I use any of the tvs built in apps and also 5.1 from my virgin boxcan anyone help me with the correct settings as I don’t want to send another blue ray player back
I have just recently moved to my SONOS system which is superb. I do have one issue as I have a Ray connected to 2 One SL speakers and Trueplay set up. A couple of times now it goes onto mute. When I tap the Play on the Ray it comes back to life. Any idea why this happens and how do you deliberately set it to mute as I cannot see any instruction to do that?
I bought a beam yesterday to go with my living room TV and set it up with my 2 sonos ones to make a surround sound system, however, I don't want to have the beam on all the time wasting electricity so have it attached to a smart plug so it turns off when the tv turns off but when I do that I can't then use my sonos ones to just play normal music. Is there a way around this or do I have to have the beam on constantly to be able to use anything in my living room?
Hi, I have sonos arc, sonos sub and two Sonos one speakers in my setup. I want to add two more sonos ones in the exisiting setup. I want to add them as surround for the rear sides. If I buy two more will I be able to add them to the exisiting setup or will it have any problems adding all of them in one group. Please suggest. TIA.
I have two One Sl for my surround sound system with the arc below my tv. One of them is behind the couch that is on the back wall and the second is between the two couches on the side wall. I was looking to buy a sub and don’t know where is the best placement. I don’t want it under my arc. I was thinking fo put it either behind the couch on the back wall and I would move the one sl to the other outlet where I marked on the picture. Or I would put it when I mark the number 1 in the picture and I would move the One Sl to the outlet I mark. Let me know what you guys think.
Hi- Amateur at bestI have an existing Beam Surround Set working on my HDMI-ARC input on my tv. Love it! I am considering upgrading to a projector and am looking at HDMI Multiview Switches to be able to watch multiple games simultaneously sometimes. The video part is straight forward; the audio I’m having problems.I haven’t found a multiview switch that would support surround sound from Sonos- I haven’t seen anything with HDMI-ARC. I believe that is needed for audio (is it even possible to get Atmos?), then an HDMI from the multiview switch to the projector.Open to all suggestion on products, thanks!
I know that this question has already been answered but I have found a simpler and cheaper way for anyone still struggling with this issue. I brought an audio extractor off Amazon: 4K Audio Extractor HDMI by OREITo make this all work, plug your source into the input and projector into the output, then plug the sound bar into the optical port. Make sure that in the projector settings the audio out device is set to AV receiver and the go to the sonos app and go though the “tv setup” after this you should be all good. At time of this the audio extractor is only £44 which is cheap compared to others on the market. I hope this helps :) Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct. It took me a while to crack this, I could not find anyone else writing about their success online, and I’m SURE I’m not the only one with this problem. I hope someone else finds this helpful:I have a projector set up on one end of the room, and want the sound to come from the screen in front of me, not the projector. Without a TV, I’ve got nothing to generate an HDMI ARC signal -- Sonos doesn’t create it, my reciever can’t create it, and even the projector can’t create it, so Sonos wouldn’t let me use HDMI at all. Even if they could have, I can’t run an HDMI under my floor or through my walls, and I really didn’t want to trip on the cable. My reciever has plenty of optical input slots, but no optical out. Bluetooth has been serving us well for carrying the sound across the room -- quality is WAY better than I expected -- but the BEAM does not accept Bluetooth Input. After trying and failing with a lot of different ideas, here’s what ultimately worked:Fire TV Stick → BenQ HT2050A p
Hi,I just bought a SONOS Beam and I was very surprised to find out that there is no indication/notification/setting to see if/when the soundbar enters in standby.Everyone says the same old story: SONOS has a special standby mode when not used. That’s all! I am sorry, but i am not buying it! I will buy a multimeter socket and test it myself to see the power consumptions between day and night.
Hi Folks, looking to see if anyone else suffers from loosing sound after fast forwarding on Sky Q Ultra. When I fast forward any recorded programmes on Sky Q Ultra and return to play I loose sound. I need to change my AV channel and return back to channel and sound is reinstated. I have try changing cables and inputs without any joy. So not sure if it’s the Sky Q box, Sony TV or the Sonos Arc

Hello, sonos beam does connected via the HDMI arc por to a Samsung tv ue55. Tv does not recognizes the Sonos beam. Tried to set up via the Sonos app and the test is failing. It seems the tv cannot recognize the Sonos beam. I have connected via the optical connection and it is working, I would prefer to do it via the HDMI arc, any help? thanks in advance
Thought I would share my experience using a 5.1 system with a 32” tv.Living in a smaller home, I’ve learned to use visual cues to help the space feel generous, but I really wanted to have an immersive experience. Limited to a 32” tv because of all the art & stuff on the walls, I bought a 4k Samsung tv (not a lot of choices), then added a beam/2. Then added 2 one st’s for surround and a sub mini. The result is remarkable. Adding sound adds so much space with a small tv! With dwellings becoming smaller for many good reasons, sound really does help the space feel fuller. A yet relatively unexplored benefit for Sonos.
I do know Apple TV 4K uses Dolby MAT encoder, and apps like Netflix will show the “PCM Multichannel 5.1” instead of something like “Dolby PCM Multichannel 5.1” for this reason. When I play the same show from Apple TV 4K (PCM Multichannel 5.1) and from the internal TV’s app (Dolby PCM Multichannel 5.1), I can easily find “Dolby PCM Multichannel 5.1” is more dynamic, more detailed and louder. My questions: Is “PCM Multichannel 5.1” the more RAW and accurate one? Or it is just a downside of how tvOS processes the audio format? Should we use “dolby digital 5.1” in Apple TV’s audio format when we are not watching any Dolby Atmos contents? Thank you in advance!
I have a Samsung 80 something inch led TV with a Samsung smart voice remote. Do not have eArc connection on TV. Have used optical adapter and can only control Sonos arc foul e by voice and Sonos app. Cannot get my Samsung one remote to control the Sonos volume. Have gone through Sonos tutorial and still will not control Arc volume e control. Help!!!! This is driving me nuts.
I have recently lost the ability to control the balance of my rears, when used as rear surrounds. Sonos have told me that the only way to restore the balance control is to separate them from the room as surrounds. When set up in trueplay mode or not they, the rears, are out of balance which makes listening to music terrible. This can’t be correct. Can it?
Hi guys, I own a Sonos arc from 1 year. Biggest disappointment for me was not to be able to listen the audio from my ps5 in pcm because for some reason it doesn’t work, and the audio sounds so bad and low volume, and I had to switch to Dolby to have a nice sounds. Is this still a issue today 22 October 2022? It’s the problem my LG C1 OLED ? Or is the arc? Do you have the same experience with other tv brand? Thanks.
