Sonos Arc with Nintendo Switch and LG CX
Hello, I recently tried using my Nintendo Switch for the first time since getting my Sonos setup, and I can't figure out how to get the Multichannel LPCM to work on it. My current setup: Sonos ArcSub Gen 32- Sonos One SLLG CXMy Sonos app version is on the most current version of 13.1.3, and my Sonos system is on 13.1.1The LG CX is also on the latest version of 03.23.06 My TV settings are as follows: Sound Out: HDMI ARCDigital Sound Out: Pass Through (Have also tried PCM and Auto)eARC: OnHDMI Input Audio Format: Bitstream (Have also tried PCM) On the Switch under TV Settings, when I set it to Surround Sound and run a test, no sound comes through, and the Sonos app either shows No Signal or Silence. When I set to Stereo, sound will work, and the Sonos app will show Stereo PCM 2.0 I've seen other forums where people will say that Multichannel LPCM works for them using a Switch and LG CX, so I'm wondering if there is something I'm doing wrong, or if there is something I may have missed. I
Sonos Connect unrecognized and losing connection constantly
I have a Sonos Connect connected to my stereo and 3 sonos:1 speakers. My Sonos Connect will not stay connected to the network and when it does, only works for a short period of time before I need to unplug and re-plug it. Even that sometimes will not work to get it back on the network. Is Sonos Connect so sensitive that it needs to be so far away from any other wireless hardware? I have no connectivity problems with any other devices, including Apple TV, PCs, phones, iPads, etc. I recently connected the Connect again and ran a diagnostic: 8234741
Arc, Projector, HDMI Matrix and Volume Control
I’m sold on the Arc + One SL setup for my home theatre but I have an issue. My projector is up high at the back of the room (obviously) so routing the devices at the front of the room into it is impractical. So they’ll need to go into an HDMI matrix, 4 in, 2 out. Then one HDMI out to the projector, the other to the Arc. I don’t want to use Optical for audio due to its limitations. Does anyone know if or how I’d be able to control volume in this setup? My display has no speakers or volume control, so I couldn’t use that in the way a TV normally would. Would my only option be the Sonos app? That’s a bit clunky and slow for that moment you want to grab the remote and change the volume. Does HomeKit and AirPlay compatibility mean that the playback status and volume would show on the lock screen of my iPhone whenever the Arc was playing audio? Or are there any other options? Thanks in advance
Low or No Atmos Height Effect From Arc
Hi guys,I am getting very little or no Atmos height effects from my Arc. The Arc is 6.5 feet from my ceiling and I'm seated at about 6+ feet away from the Arc. I have done Truplay as well. I don't even feel Atmos in the front stage as well. The Arc is seated on the TV console about 2 feet off the floor. There is nothing blocking the Arc speakers.I have tried raising the Arc from it's rear and front about an inch but I don't hear any improvement. The dealer told me to get the Arc checked out at the service centre but I doubt it's faulty. I am able to hear the pink noise from the Atmos 5.1.2 test clip but the audio is distinctly coming from the front. It does not seem to be bouncing off the ceiling.Besides that the Arc is a solid upgrade from my Klipsch Cinema 600. Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,Kelvin from Singapore

Sonos and Sony XBR55A8H volume control problem
Problem: My Sony TV and Sonos system work very well with the Sonos system (Beam, Sub Gen 3, pair Sonos Ones) connected through HDMI Arc. Unfortunately, the TV/Sonos volume always jumps 2 levels at a time when using the remote. eg 2, 4, 6, 8…When I unplug the Sonos System and switch to the Sony to TV sound only, the TV volume adjusts properly, eg: 1, 2, 3, 4...I am using the same remote and have tried several different remotes but get the same incorrect result.I have also tried adding each piece of my Sonos system, checking volume control as I add each piece, but the result does not change, 2, 4, 6, 8...Question: Is there a way to stop the volume jumping 2 steps at a time so I have a finer control of the system volume? I love the Sonos system but would like to improve the volume adjustment with the TV remote. Thanks for any help.
Sonos Beam and 2 x Sonos Play:1’s failing to create surround sound
While trying to setup surround sound on my beam and 2 x play:1’s I get an error message saying it failed to setup. I have tried resetting up all the speakers about 6 times now and it fails every time. All speakers are updated and I’m setting up on my iPhone 8plus with the Sonos app up to date. Network is fine and tested and I can get the beam working with the TV (LG) fine but no surround sound. HELP!
Sonos, Samsung and Avantree
I need help please. Reaching out to Avantree to fix my problem but getting no help with my new equipment.I have the QN55Q8FNA Samsung Smart TV which has both the digital audio access and the HDMI ARC access as well as Bluetooth and Wi Fi. I have hearing loss, so I purchased the Avantree wireless headphones and the Avantree Orbit transmitter so my wife can hear the audio from the tv speakers or Sonos Beam soundbar whuch we just purchased, at her preferred level and I can hear through the headphones at my preferred level. Until I purchased and added the Sonos Beam Soundbar, I could hear through the Avantree Headphones and my wife could hear the tv speakers simultaneously and she and I could watch tv together. We decided to add the Sonos as an audio improvement over the tv speakers. I’m very disappointed that I can get no help to remedy this! Should I return the orbit and get the Oasis Plus model? What should I do? The Sonos Beam sounds great but I cannot get it and the Orbit to w
Sonos Beam losing ARC connection with Philips TV
SONOS setup: Beam + 2 Play1s + boost connected to a 2018 Philips 55PUS6703 TV. That is one running the 'proprietary' Philips software, not Android TV. Both TV and Sonos are updated to the latest software. The Beam is connected to the ARC HDMI and works perfectly. However, the beam is not found when switching the TV on - need to select audio out - and when looking at the TV settings it doesn't 'see' the TV. The way to fix this is to unplug all the other HDMI devices, turn the TV off for a minute or so, turn it back on and the TV will be recognised and is - according to the app - now connected. That doesn't last. When switching between input devices (i.e. from Apple TV to digital decoder) or when turning the TV off and back on, the connection is lost and you will need to manually select audio out again. Sometimes you will find that the TV has magically selected the headphones as the output channel (no headphones attached) and sometimes it will still show HDMI sound system, but
OREI HDA-935 Audio Extractor
I just purchased the 935 directly from OREI using the current 10% discount ($116.10/no sales tax) to use with my Beam Gen 2, Sub Mini, and One SLs with a 2016 Samsung W/Arc. Anyone else have the 935; if so, how’s it working? The only difference I can see from the 931 is that you can connect 3 external devices. I considered the HD Fury Arcana, but at $299 it was a little pricey, since I spent a wad on the Beam and Sub a month ago. I’m hoping, “You get what you pay for.” doesn’t apply with the 935.
Samsung QE65QN95AATXXC + Sonos Arc = Sound cutting
I realize that there are several threads similar to this, but none towards this exact European Samsung-model.I bought the Sonos Arc surround package a couple of weeks ago. Spent a lot of time trying to sync the audio with my LG 65” OLED B7V, but there was just no chance.Decided to purchase the new Samsung QE65QN95AATXXC hoping this would be a good match. At first it seemed to work perfect. But all of a sudden the sound cutting happend.Been in contact with both Sonos and Samsung supprt today. Neither could or were very willing to help.Sonos says it is a Samsung issue, and that they resolved it with firmware 1462.1, and that I had to contact Samsung for further assistance. Samsung said they didn’t know about a specific issue with this model and that there were no patches in their system to help me.My setup:Sonos Arc connected to Samsung OneConnect HDMI 3 (eARC) with Sonos HDMI-cable Nvidia Shield connected to Samsung OneConnect HDMI1 with new 8K HDMI 2.1 cableMy settings:eARC on Samsung
The definitive DTS-HD sound work-around for the Sonos Arc
Hello all, I thought I would share my work-around for this much derided problem: lack of support for DTS sound on Sonos’ so-called home cinema set-up. So called, because, it does not support the sound encoding used on *most* Blu-ray Discs. I say most with good reason, out of the 100 discs I have of the most popular and mainstream films, 80% are DTS-HD. For the Play Bar I had a decent work around which produced DD5.1 or DD Stereo (see here: https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/dts-dolby-5-1-on-playbar-2015-edition-6731191). For the Arc it was really annoying to have to even look for a work around, however, I think I have a solid one. Bit it does require you to be much more technical and basically, be capable of ‘ripping’ or copying your Blu-ray Discs. Before I went this route, I looked for every transcoder, box, set-up going but there is nothing. I even though about returning the Arc or buying a second one to use for DTS alone, which was a bit mad. As it happen
2021 samsung frame
so i just bought a 2021 samsung frame and added the arc to my set up. I have not installed the arc yet as it requires different wiring than playbar. I m reading everywhere that the arc does not play nicely with the Samsung frame from previous years, can any one comment? Has this issue been fixed
Playbar 7.1 surround setup
I just fitted out my place with 9 connect:AMPs a few pairs of play1, play3, play5, a couple of subs .etc all works well, I am mostly really happy. Although I could be happier with the playbar set up. I am using a connect:AMP to power my rears (through Playbar IP address) added a sub and a playbay. I have a 75" sony and the playbar just isnt long enough to really separate out the LCR function of the playbar. Here is my question, does SONOS or will SONOS (any dates, details or reasons why not) support 7.1 or 9.2/ 9.2? at this stage 5.1 seems very low end for a high end, well designed eco system such as SONOS. I would LOVE to add a pair of play3 to my playbar as the L/R or even use 3x play3 as the LCR. Any thoughts, workarounds or updates from SONOS on getting more than the very basic old school 5.1 ? Thanks!
Is the SUB really an inferior product?
I got completely roasted today on another forum for suggesting the SONOS SUB. The sentiment on there was that it was part of a pretty package but that it isn't capable of serious performance with such small drivers for a living room and that it didn't even hit the marketed 25Hz (does it matter)? I am not an audio gear-head so bear with me, what should my reply have been?
Feature Request: Beam swap left/right channel
I mounted my Beam upside down under my TV because it was the only way since the mount was blocking access to the cable ports and the Beam controls were too close under the TV if mounted upright. By mounting it upside down I am able to access the Beam buttons underneath and have a clear entry to the cable ports. Please make it possible to swap left/right channel of the Beam.
Is the Sonos Arc fit for purpose
Ok, im close to giving up and returning the arc and sub. I have tweaked with the settings for weeks but can't get the balance right. We cannot watch a Netflix program or a movie without having to constantly adjust the sound up and down. The dialogue is absolutely terrible, either too low or too tinnie. Also when they speak a lot of the times the speech goes up and down in volume even though its a normal monotone sentence. Whereas action noises and music is way too overpowering, hence the turning up and down throughout a movie or program. Speech enhancement I find is very poor too. I am using this with a new Sony Bravia OLED TV with earc on auto. Not sure if there are another settings on the TV audio output I need to change or if anyone can recommend any settings on the arc and sub for the right balance. At the moment its an expensive set up that is just not fit for purpose.
Sonos across multiple IP subnets
It appears that the sonos system relies on a network broadcast to add components to the system. Unfortunately, this limits the system to a single IP subnet. Could enhancements be made to the compnents and software to allow for the system to exist across multiple subnets? Think of this as an advanced configuration for system administrators to do and not your average home/small business user. This would enable the sonos system to be utilized through enterprise deployments where multiple locations all have wide area network connectivity which would allow for control of all of the offices from a centralized location. Furthermore, additional basic security could be added to perhaps limit access to rooms.
New Playbar Release Any Indication ?

Toggle Night Sound and Speech Enhancement with Harmony Remote?
Have a new PLAYBASE running alongside a setup with a Harmony One (complete with Hub). Added the PLAYBASE to the Harmony config, but there are no options for the new, TV-specific features. Anyone have any luck adding these so they can be controlled via the Harmony (and I don't need to power-up my iPhone, etc).
Playbar with multiple remote controls
Can the playbar understand multiple remote controls? I have a media server remote control as well as a TV remote control. Lets say I have the media server remote in my hand, normally, this wouldn't be able to turn up the TV volume (as it controls just the volume output from the media server). Can the playbar understand both to save me reaching for the TV remote everytime?
