Thanks Controlav for the time to reply.

RIght now, only facing Sales ppl who are telling me that since it is 4K, supports ARC, that should not be any problem… not much ppl knows about this sonos requirement. We are now 2020, is it safe to say that more tv would support pass-through abilities on optical port? Not sure about the future of optical port, and if the tv manufacturer really bother about it.

Let me know your thoughts?

Pass through on optical should be a given on a modern TV. Optical is a legal requirement on US TVs but not in other countries. ARC is sometimes a problem, and eARC is a bigger problem.

When choosing a new TV, pick a company that has a reasonable record of supporting their TVs with firmware updates, in your country. This is a necessity if you want to use the most advanced audio and video features of HDMI 2.1, as these features often don’t all work correctly when the TVs come out and need subsequent fixes.

Just got a SONY KD55XH9005, works great with the Beam and two sonos one.

This is a great thread but info is 4 years old. Wondering if Sonos can update any info or do a new 2020 thread, it would be very helpful.
