Full Stereo on S2/ARC Soundbar

Badge +2

In the past it was not possible in a 5.1 setup to have the TV audio be in full stereo mode, it was stuck in surround sound mode. Does the new S2 app or the ARC Soundbar allow TV audio to be in full stereo mode?

Hi,

I’ve been looking for this option too ! checking this thread and another one in the community that last nearly 6 years with out any response from sonos… i’m wondering how can we get an official answer ?? i have the impression that nothing written here is seen by them.
Is there another way to make this kind of request ?

+1 I really want this.

Also it stops my parents from buying Sonos because this option is not available.

+1 for this, not sure if Sonos staff on here anymore

I need this feature. Because it is available via MUSIC we know the hardware is in place. PLEASE make this feature available. Send S2 and update.

Could we please have this option soon? - the thread posted above is over 6 years old, before you closed it...

It should be easily implemented, so there must be a reason why you have decided not to implement it? - perhaps you can at least share the reasoning with us?

I’d love to have that. I used it a lot when watching concerts on youtube that were not in 5.1 or even just doing workouts, having the audio coming from all speakers make things easier for those cases. I had an old Yahama receiver and had that option too.

@Airgetlam i remember you needed info about systems that implement this full channel stereo.

For example Denon Heos:

Check here "multichannel stereo"

Check also at this link:

Even Yamaha:

Search for Multi-Channel Stereo Mode (sometimes called All-Channel Stereo Mode)

I second that need.

People not hearing well find it very usefull to have the full audio coming from the surrond speakers. That way the sound is not blasting from the bar and make everyone else deaf.

Real pity that option does not exist. I see from previous threads that people have been wanting it for years. :-/

This would be also useful if you live in a flat where you do not want to be killed by your neighbours.

Every tv home theater amplifier on the market allows for full channel stereo (or multichannel stereo) setup.

And for Sonos, it is already working for music why not allow to use it for tv as well?
