crazy sounds from sonos watching tv

Every minute or so our 5.1 setup emits a crazy distorted electronic sound (loud) then slowly goes back to normal, repeating over and over. I am playing through an Xbox and have tried multiple applications.

I’d suggest that the next time it occurs, you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes, and contact Sonos Support to discuss it. They might be able to tell from the data whether it is a problem with the signal being sent, or potentially some sort of Wi-Fi interference, or even an issue with the Sonos device itself. 

I usually suggest the phone folks, they have more tools available, but are available Monday through Friday during business hours. Twitter support folks are available 24/7.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

Also worth trying: directly connect the Xbox to the (unspecified) Sonos device to remove the TV from the audio path. If that fixes it, then the TV is the problem.
