Confusion with PS4 BluRay Audio Settings

Hi. This might have been asked before but I thought I would give this a go.
I have a Sonos Arc, with a Sub and two Play 1s. The Arc is connected to the HDMI ARC of my Samsung Q90r TV. The PS4 connected via HDMI to the TV.
My query is about the audio settings on the PS4 to get Dolby Atmos.
I have looked at several forums but none have answered this specifically.
Firstly, I have tried different variations of the settings on the PS4 to try and achieve Atmos but with no luck. While playing an Atmos BluRay (Batman vs Superman and also Wonder Woman) I changed the audio settings as follows:

1
PS4: Linear PCM
PS4 BR Player: Linear PCM
Resulting Audio per PS4: Dolby TrueHD 7.1
Resulting Audio per Sonos App: Stereo 2.0
TV only allows PCM to be selected

2
PS4: Linear PCM
PS4 BR Player: Bitstream (Direct)
Resulting Audio per PS4: Dolby Digital Multi Channel
Resulting Audio per Sonos App: Dolby Digital 5.1
TV allows PCM  and Dolby Digital to be selected, but not Dolby Digital +

3
PS4: Bitstream (Dolby)
PS4 BR Player: Linear PCM
Resulting Audio per PS4: Dolby TrueHD 7.1
Resulting Audio per Sonos App: Stereo 2.0
TV only allows PCM to be selected

PS4: Bitstream (Dolby)
PS4 BR Player: Bitstream (Direct)
Resulting Audio per PS4: Dolby Digital Multi Channel
Resulting Audio per Sonos App: Dolby Digital 5.1
TV allows PCM and Dolby Digital to be selected, but not Dolby Digital +

Even though I am playing an Atmos BluRay, the Sonos app doesn’t recognise it with any of the settings.

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Simon

This wont work (yet). You need to wait for Sonos to add the ability to the Arc to accept LPCM 5.1, as that is the only format the PS4 player will emit Atmos with. There are many other threads on the Q90r.

Thanks Controlav. Do you know if this is something in the pipeline from Sonos? I’ll check out the other threads.

Why do you think the PS4 shows Dolby TrueHD and the Sonos displays 2.0 on some of the settings?

So for the time being the best option is Dolby Digital 5.1?

Thanks again

Sonos have said that proper LPCM support is coming at some point.
