Can I Add An ARC to an existing Non Sonos Home Theater System using a Port?

I have an existing 5.1 Non Sonos in ceiling surround home theater system wired to a Yamaha A/V Receiver. I would like to eliminate the receiver and add an ARC for Front Speakers and use the in ceiling speakers for surround speakers. I was planning on using a Non Sonos amp to power the ceiling speakers. Is this possible?  I was also planning to add a Port to this system to listen to music services.
thx

No, you can’t use a third party amp with Arc. You’d need a Sonos Amp to drive your ceiling speakers as surrounds. This would then be ‘bonded’ to the Arc to deliver the relevant channels,

By the way you wouldn’t need a Port for music. An Arc setup can play all the same services directly.

Thx for the help
