Controls' volume is absurdly loud on sonos ace headphones, e.g. volume up/down, pause/resume, switching noise modes. I was very surprised that control notification sounds do not scale with the volume, and stay very loud at all times. Is there any way to either scale or lower them?
Hi
I’ve had a look into our articles and support information but it doesn’t look like the notification volume is adjustable, at least from what I can see. I have seen other users mention that the volume being too loud was fixed by updating the Sonos Ace. You can do this by connecting your Ace via Bluetooth then attempting to update in the Sonos app, which should guide you through the process.
I’ll forward this to the relevant teams as a feature request for their consideration as well. I hope this helps!
For the love of all that is good in this world, why haven’t Sonos solved this issue by now? They’ve been aware of this for two years.
I have an illness which makes all sounds immensely painful, hence the need for noice cancelling.
I bought these headphones thinking such an elemental feature as being able to choose to opt out of annoying indicator sounds was a given by 2025. Alas.
Sucks, because they sits perfect on my head. Needless to say, this will be yet another Sonos Ace return.

Two years? The Ace were released to the public less than a year ago, on June 5, 2024.

True, but Ace is not the first product with this very problem:

To say Sonos acknowledging the “problem” on the Move two years ago means they acknowledged the problem on the Ace a year and a half before it was even available to the public strains credulity, and doesn’t really help your cause.

Ok. Thanks for the feedback.
