Sonos Arc's Google assistant doesn't tv on TV

Hi,
I just got a new Sony TV A80J and Sonos arc connected to an earc port. Every time I say, "hey google, turn on my tv," it says, "Sonos ARC switching input to TV," and nothing happens. But everything else works .. like if I say turn off the tv, it turns off if I say change input; it does. The only thing it doesn't do is turn the tv on.

Also, note in the Google Home app, I name my tv "TV."

Does anyone know a solution how to fix this

Any help is appreciated.

Hi @Lightning_88

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

The TV would have to agree to be turned on via an external CEC (Anynet+) command - there should be a setting relating to this on your TV. Please ensure it is activated.

I hope this helps.

My Samsung wil only turn on using Sonos TV Control:

It will turn off via Google Assistant (coupled with Bixby).

Maybe this will help you?

I am having the same issue on my ARC, roam and move. The Google speakers can turn on the TV just fine. And the CEC is on.

As a work around: what if you’d use Sonos TV Control to turn the TV on?

How do you use that?
