I have just replaced my two JBL link with Google assistant by two Sonos One. With the JBL I used to ask Google assistant to play music for a certain duration and it worked very well. Now, when I ask the same to a Sonos One, it plays for the requested duration and then, Google Assistant says "excuse me, I didn't understand". And it continues to play. Are there kind of limitations with the Sonos devices?
I have spent hours on the phone with Sonus support regarding voice command for Apple music. Support says they have exhausted all the possibilities while troubleshooting and to contact Google. communicating with Google seems to be very difficult. When attempting to use voice command with Apple music, the responses is that Apple Music does not support this arc device. Hopefully someone has come across this before and has a solution.
Subject says it all, it is ridiculous that we have Google Home products in Japan since many many many years, and there is still no integration with Sonos.Could the Sonos team at least state whether they have the intention to get this working?I don’t think there are legal problems, because you sell Sonos One with Google Assistant, so incorporating is definitely not an issue legal wise.So why don’t you support speakers like the Sonos 5?

I just set up Google Assistant, and I'm largely happy with it, except that sleep timers don't work. When I have spotify playing, if I say "Sleep Timer for 10 minutes", Google Assistant responds "Sleep timers can only be set when media is playing". Is there any way to get this to work?
Hello, Recently (in the last 2 months) the Sonos speakers throughout the house chime out of the blue with “Sorry, there was a glitch. Please try again later!”. This happens even when the speakers are not in use … like in the middle of the night! It seems the frequency of this is increasing. I experienced this issue on both Sonos Play:1 soundbar as well as Sonos S2 speakers. I searched online and noticed lots of people experience this, but there’s no conclusion. I tried removing music services, ensuring everything is up to date, even rebooting the speakers … nothing seems to help! Please help! The chimes in the middle of the night are very disturbing.
I see that a lot of people here and on other forums have problems with activating Google Assistant on Sonos. When I first setup my system there was no problem adding it to Sonos Roam. But after some problems where I had to reset my system Google Assistant couldn’t find Sonos Roam again when I tried to add it.This is how I managed to add it back again.Open Google Home on your phone (I run iOS, might be different on an Android). Click Settings. Scroll down to the bottom and click Works with Google. Click Sonos, and unlink. Go to the Sonos app and add Google Assistant as a voice assistant.Hopefully everything works for you now.
I have had one heck of a time trying to get a family Sonos setup working. There are five people in my house, and my goal is to have each person’s Spotify account tied to their voice using Google’s Voice Match. This works well with the Google Home Mini devices in my Google Household. I have also (after many, many times trying to reconnect) been able to get two voices linked to my new Sonos system. However, when adding the third person I get the following error:Can’t add devicesAsk the person who set up these devices to add you to this home in the Google Home app. Check that you’re linking a consumer Google account and not a Google Workspace account. I can confirm that this person is added to the home in the Google Home app, and I can confirm that this is a consumer account. The only other instance of this error message I can find on the entire internet is this thread on the Sonos forum which leads me to believe this is a Sonos issue. Please, please help. Between this and the fact that I c
I just added Google Assistant to my Sonos and try to play SirusXM through it. The speaker says SiriusXM isn’t supported on this device.I can play SiriusXM on my Sonos through the Sonos app, but it refuses to play when I say “Hey Google play channel 23 from SiriusXM”…. it’ll say “Alright, playing Grateful Dead from SiriusXM… Sorry, it looks like SiriusXM isn’t currently supported on the music room”Some Google searching has yielded links to this Sonos Community forums where there is a staff member named “James L.” says the followingSiriusXM is not available via Google Assistant on Sonos as a supported service at this time. I don’t believe there would be a sufficient workaround to avoid this limitation.I can certainly pass on the comments that you’d like to see this service be a part of Google Assistant to our teams for consideration. It would be great if this information was published so I wouldn’t waste time trying to get something to work which is not supported. A matrix would be goo
I have several Sonos devices across my apartment (Play1s,Play5s, Connect:Amp, ZP100) and also several google devices (Pixel Phone, 2 Alarms, Google Hub)All Google devices work properly in playing spotify or streaming radio on any Sonos Device.EXCEPT my GoogleHub where I love to have my radio streamed with my first coffee and its driving my crazy. Early in the morning I do not want to fumble around my phone for the app but use the convenience of voice commands. That's where I get the "This”mode is not available on <Sonos Device Name>” while the GoogleHub shows me the Sonos controls on the screen (which does work btw).Already checked country settings, spotify accounts (it's also TuneIn btw), re-connected all services.Any ideas ?
When I say “hey google” on my Sonos Arc, it is not aware of the timers I set on other Google Home/Home Mini devices (even though the Google devices themselves are aware of timers you set on others). There isn’t an issue with linking accounts. I am surprised. I also noticed commands like “hey Google turn off the TV” which normally works on a Google Home Mini responds with an error on Sonos (oddly enough I can do most other things via Sonos Google Assistant like turning lights on/off).
Hi all!My Sonos One arrived yesterday, haven’t unpacked it yet. I live in Croatia, Europe and google assistant is not supported on Sonos. I will change my Sonos profile to USA or UK. Will it work? Yes or No? Also, I get that google and alexa is not supported everywhere but why does Sonos voice control not work around the globe? It should not be region restricted.Neven
Google assistant doesn’t work very well on my Sonos ARC (not very responsive and most of the time there is no answer). A friend of mine said the same thing and then he moved to Alexa and said it worked much better. Google works a lot better on my dedicated Google Home. I guess the bonus of using Alexa is that you can also use the Sonos voice assistant at the same time. Not sure I want the hassle but has anyone experienced that Alexa integration on Sonos is much better?
Hello there,Until now, I was using a Google Nest Mini speaker to control my lights and plugs connected to my home.I recently got a Sonos Beam and I set up the google assistant. With the Nest Mini, in the application, when it was located in the same room as the connected plugs and lights, when turning on or off, there was a simple "ding or dong". With the Beam, even if it's in the same room, I still get a confirmation like, "Okay, I turn on the light..."Is there any way WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE ROUTINES, to have a simple ding / dong? Thanks for your help
Hi,Since a week Google Assistant does not want to play my music from spotify via the command "Hey Google". Each time it tells me: "I can't play this content on this device but you can play it on another device" (I’ve a Chromecast).I can however send the music from the spotify app or via my laptop.Spotify premium is well present in the sonos app. Sonos is well taken over in the Google Home app.I have re-authorized spotify on both apps but no change...I can't identify the source of the problem? Do you have an idea? Many Thanks.Benoit.
I've recently moved my Sonos One in a location where I want to use it more with voice commands and I'm finding an issue with using the Google Assistant and YouTube Music. I give the assistant a command to play a genre of music or a specific command and it responds accordingly; "Playing you song from YouTube Music".However, after the assistant responds the affirmative that it will play the music, nothing is ever played. I can use the Sonos app to play music without issues but this isn't the point. Also, if family members expect to use the speaker, they will only have access to it through voice commands since they do not have (or want) the Sonos app on their devices.Anyone else having similar issues or ideas for things to try?
I’ve seen tons of complaints on here about the Google Assistant voice being too loud. We had the opposite problem, it was too soft. I mentioned this to my wife yesterday and she sensibly said “just tell the Assistant what you want it to do”.We have determined that this seems to work, addressing the Sonos:“Hey Google, make your voice volume lower” “Hey Google, make your voice volume louder”.On quick experimentation, the voice seems to have four or five volume level settings (it’s hard to discern this at the loudest end). You can only go up or down by one level at a time. (At the loudest level, I tried “Set your voice volume level three levels lower” and it didn’t understand.)I don’t know if this will also work to adjust volume for alarm tones. It does seem to work for the ‘acknowledgement tone’ that we have turned on. This is all running on a Sonos Beam.Hopefully not a fluke for us and works for others too. [Maybe this is not technically a question - How about we count the question as
I have a few recurring issues with google voice and my Sonos ones. Either when I ask to play a radio station the response is OK playing xxx radio station. Sorry I can’t find what you asked for. Or sometimes when I ask to play artist name I get Sorry I can’t do that here but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices. And sometimes this commands work… wondering if Alexa might be more helpful? We use Google WiFi and have a WiFi point in the neighbouring room to one of the Sonos ones and I wondered if this might cause something funky to happen as I don’t think this was a problem until I upgraded the WiFi points and now have one which is voice enabled. Can anyone help? Please!
