I have Play5 and Play3 speakers throughout our home. My Sonos account is logged in through the same email address I use for my Google Assistant. My Sonos account correctly lists all of my speakers I own as part of my system. So why, when setting up the Google Assistant skill, am I unable to get the setup wizard to recognize that fact and continue through the setup? Hi Been looking forward to this for a while but it seems to be none stop issues: Assistant only on one speaker of a stereo pair - why? Ask it to turn up the volume of music and it will only turn up the volume of the assistant tone - what is that all about??? Often says that it cant currently play on this device but but to try another device (or something along those lines). Often doesn't understand what I'm saying which wasn't an issue with Alexa (although this may be due to the fact that I'm shouting across the room to the speaker with assistant even though I'm right next to one which has mic turned off). Doesn't recognise different voices Can't make calls Got rid of my play 1's to get the new ones now I think I'd of been better of to stick with those and get an actual google home to control them. I wanted this to control GPM but its proving so difficult I'm probably better off switching to Spotify and back to Alexa. God knows why this took so long.
When i try to set a music alarm using the new google assistant integration. It never recognizes the media. For example , I can say " Hey Google, Play paino in the background " and it plays this playlist from spotify. However if i say "Hey Google, Set paino in the background playlist for 4pm" ..it replies " Okay , what would you like to play" and then regardless of what i say , it keeps saying "Sorry , What did you want me to play " and after a few tries sets a standard alarm Is this feature officially supported? Is this a bug that needs fixing?
My Sonos One is registered to my address in the U.S., but I brought it with me to Europe. Google Assistant works fine most of the time and can be used to put on songs from Youtube Music. However, occasionally, Google Assistant puts on a version of the song that seems to be inaccessible in the EU region. For instance, if I ask it to play Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" or "Bad Blood", it says, e.g., "Okay, putting on Taylor Swift's 'Blank Space'". However, the song is then immediately paused before it even starts playing, and a window is shown, saying that "Playback paused because this account is being used in another location". However, this is wrong; my account is not being used elsewhere, and most other songs work fine. On closer inspection, I realized that the version of Blank Space it puts on is called "Blank Space – Taylor Swift ⋅ 1989 (Deluxe Edition)". No song with exactly that title shows up when I search through Youtube Music manually (in the EU); the version of Blank Space
Hi, I just set up my Google assistant to control my Play:3 with google assistant on my phone. I can control it like pause it set up the volume or skip songs but whenever I try to play music I get an "I can't do that yet" responde from assistant. My default service on assistant is Google play music which is also added to Sonos with the same account. Any of you having this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?
GA integration NEEDS to allow Sonos/Home device grouping and ability to set Sonos as default speaker
I’ve been looking forward to this rolling out for so long, bought a Home Hub in anticipation as my dream was to ask the Hub to play a song on Spotify, and it’d play on the Sonos One while showing the song info and controls on the Hub. Would be an amazing media setup. Obviously, I was pretty damn disappointed to find that this wasn’t possible. Not only does the Home Hub not show the song info/the Spotify app (it just shows volume and start/pause/skip controls), you even have to specify that you want it to play on Sonos. This is cumbersome and we shouldn’t have to do this every time. I have the Home Hub and the One in the same room, so if I leave both enabled it defaults to the Home Hub. This could all be fixed by allowing the Sonos to be set as a default speaker for Home devices as this would allow the functionality to accomplish this. The only way I continue to invest in more Sonos and Home devices is if we have the ability to group all of these devices together to work in perf
Everytime i ask it to play music, tunein or do anything with the speakers, it just says: It looks like the "den" isn't available right now. Den is my stereo pare speakers. Please help? I've tried removing the service and reinstalling google assistant, restarting router, unplugging and plugging my speakers.
So I just updated my speakers with Google Assistant today, and I have some initial feedbacks on it. Firstly, it’s very infuriating not able to use Google Assistant on both of my Sonos Ones (Gen 1). Sometimes I have to get in my bathroom, and I’d like to shout my commands from it. But only one speaker is able to turn its mics on, and it’s even on the further one to the bathroom. Also, the mic button on the disabled speaker doesn’t work. Secondly, the response time is noticeably longer compared to when Alexa is enabled (only when I request music). Thirdly, Google Assistant doesn’t recognize my commands for music sometimes. For example when I say play Stan by Eminem and Elton John it just says “Playing Stan on Stan”. But when I says playing Stan by Eminem it plays normally. I’d like how to get around that problem. Thanks!
So there it is.. a gigantic fail. In short: Sonos finally shows up on Google Home but as a device rather tan WiFi speakers. One can control Sonos playback from Google Home, but cannot use the speakers freely. This means no Sonos speaker integration to a Home Group, no using a Sonos speaker as a "default speaker" for another speaker.. none of that. I've waited all this long just to be able to extend the music I play in my living room (5.1 stereo hooked up to Chromecast) to the Play:1 I have in the kitchen and today I found out a huge "close, but no cigar". Anyone else feeling the rage of a thousand dragons or just me?
Below is my summary for my environment. I have 2 Sonos One (gen 1 and 2 that formed the stereo pair), 2 Play 5 (also formed a stereo pair), and 1 Beam in my family room. After today update that allows Sonos to work with Google Voice Assistant (thank you Sonos for making it happened after all) - The Beam works but one of the Sonos One (the one with Gen 2) does not work. Somehow, the light from that Sonos One (gen 2) microphone array turns off comparing to the Beam and the other Sonos One (gen 1). I am not sure why it behaved that way but I already power cycle that Gen 2 Sonos One (no luck yet). Do you have any fix for it or there is a way to make it work and response to Google Assistant? Please assist if anyone runs into the same issue. For your info, I submitted a ticket directly to Sonos support today but I tried to see if someone knows. Thanks for your time.
Hello, In trying to setup Google Assistant, I'm asked "which system" to connect, of TWO. One of them has three rooms/speakers, and the other one has 6 rooms/speakers. I'm not sure why there would be two different systems - all the speakers run on the same network and (mostly) work together just fine. Any thoughts? I haven't been able to try it out yet, but I'm guessing there will be problems/limitations by being forced to select only a single "system" which doesn't include all of my speakers. Thank you! Tom
I´m about to get a Sonos One and have a question regarding Google Home as I understand is upcoming for Sonos. When Google Home is integrated with Sonos, will it be possible to set up a group of speakers containing both Sonos and Google home speakers? I have a couple of Google Home speakers and it would be awesome to be able to play through them all, including Sonos One simultaneously. Hope for the best Best regards Toomas Kardfall
Hello, I read in this article (https://blog.sonos.com/en/google-assistant-update/) that Google Assistant integration is coming up soon. I own a Google Home and a Google Home mini and integration with Google Assistant is vital (I believe) to me. Can I purchase the products before this moment and wait for the update, or I will need to wait for the integration to be publicly done? Thank you for your time.
