I had purchased my Sonos set up from 2018 onwards when it was advertised as speakers that would come with Google Assistant. After a long wait, Sonos became GA-capable. Does anyone know when Sonos will become GA-capable in Asia. Looking at the list of countries for Alexa, I am dismayed that there does not seem to be any further development for Alexa in Asia. Would the same happen to GA in Asia too?
I have 5 Google home mini. One for every room I have a Sonos connect amp speaker (speakers in the sealing, and the amp's in my AV room). So. In my bathroom for example, i tell Google "Hi Google. Play some music from my playlist in the bathroom". Then the music starts playing from the mini... My sonos speaker is called "bathroom" and the mini is called "mini 2". And yes. I have done the setup both in home and sonos app. I
I've been using Sonos with Google Assistant since it first became available, but over the last several days there's a new problem: Google Assistant frequently forgets what room my Sonos One stereo pair is in, so when I say "Hey Google, turn on the light" I get the surprising and annoying response "Ok, turning on 8 lights" (that's a stupid bug on Google's part - there's no way that "the light" should ever be interpreted as "all lights" if it doesn't know what room it's in, but leaving that aside as a Google bug...) When I check the Google Home app, I see my Sonos speaker pair in the correct room. A couple of times the problem fixed itself spontaneously after a while. A couple of times I was able to fix it manually by removing the Sonos speaker pair from the room and re-adding it. And a couple of times, like today, that didn't work because Google Home stubbornly says "There was a problem communicating with Google" whenever I try to touch the Sonos speaker room assignment (and it only af
Is it possible to disable the Google Assistant Voice control and keep the linked status in google home? I want to continue to control the Sonos Beams but use my Google Nest Hubs for voice commands. My wife misses having her own personal assistant settings and assistant voice. Right now I have the mics turned off as a work around. I am also using airplay more and more 2 group my Sonos system for music since that feature is not available yet from google. On a side note just having the flexibility to use both Google and Apple are why I use and enjoy my Sonos system every day. Thanks
Hi I’ve bought a Sonos Connect:amp and some B&W loudspeakers (ceiling) for my new kitchen. I read somewhere that I had to use a Chromecast Audio unit to play music through voicecommands (Google mini) I can play music through the Sonos amp by choosing "Kitchen-cast" but not through chromecast audio. No sound. How do I solve this? Is there any setting I must do in the Sonos app? Has anyone got this to work? Thanks.
Hey guys, I love the Google assistant integration with my Sonos! But i have 9 Sonos speakers of which only 1 Sonos One speaker. Voice control works perfect, but i was wondering, is there a way to push the playback of Google assistant to all or to more than only my 1 Sonos ONE speaker? It would be cool if I can push Google's Assistant voice to all my Sonos speakers in my dining room but I have clue if that's possible? thnx !
It's extremely silly that the Sonos beam has Google assistant built in, but I can't add it to a speaker group and play multi room audio with the rest of my Google cast enabled speakers. Im not buying any more Sonos products until this gets fixed. I know they want people to stay in their ecosystem but that's more of a deterrent than anything. Get it together Sonos!
Hi, Using a Google Mini to control Sonos is proving a little testing... When I say "Hey Google" I expect the Sonos volume to drop so GA can hear me... But it doesn't... I then shout "Volume 10%" and the volume INCREASES (it was playing higher than 10% so should have reduced...) I then shout "Volume 10%" again and, once again, the volume goes up (even louder)! I think GA/Sonos *thinks* it dropped the volume to hear me and the unexpected increases are the result of only doing the restore half of the temporary volume reduction. Anyone experienced the same? (Anyone else wishing the Sonos app had a "reboot all devices" option?)
Sonos' responses to common GA commands is erratic. Sometimes responds, sometimes not, with some error message. Some examples: Me: "Play XYZ" or "Play playlist XYZ." Sonos: "Sure, (or OK,) playing XYZ on Google Play Music. Sorry, I can't find the content you requested." or Sonos: "Sure, playing XYZ on Google Play Music. Something went wrong. Try on one of your other devices. or, I can't do that here, but you can ask me to play that on one of your other devices." At other times, using the same command, at the same distance and volume, Sonos responds correctly. I have a total of seven Google Home devices around my home, which all work fine. ???
I have a sonos one and other older sonos. When I go into Sonos app and choose 'voice services', and follow the steps - google, add to sonos, select the sonos one (by name of where it is in home), 'go to google assistant app', 'continue' And it just hangs saying 'just a sec'. I tried unlinked sonos from google home, extra steps appeared in the sequence above prompting me to link it again. I am in Australia I was in the beta program and it worked then - on a different sonos system (but same account). Any idea what is wrong? Thx Ian
I've just got my Beam. Very impressed with the sound quality and the ease of setup, my TV is a 9 year old Sharp Aquos and I thought I'd end up using the optical cable but was very happy to discover Aquos Link is, in fact, HDMI-CNC! So, all working. Good stuff. I knew GA integration was a bit quirky but I was really frustrated not to be able to pause Netflix or YouTube with GA. "OK Google, pause" just resulted in "sorry, there was an error". Once paused (via the app on my phone), a simple "ok Google, play" gets it started again. I tried renaming the Beam but no luck. Strangely though, an "ok Google, pause" works with Google Play Music. After fiddling and searching for a while my son eventually suggested "OK Google, pause Netflix/YouTube", which, to my delight, works! This isn't a big deal but are there a lot of these inconsistencies? I'm wondering if there's other functionality that I might discover seems not to work as my phrasing isn't quite right.
Hi everyone Just started to use Google Assistant on my impressive new Sonos Beam. The problem is that my Android phone picks up my instruction at the same time. The phone then echoes everything but with a different accent!! I have tried switching my phone (Oneplus 6t) to silent but phone still reacts separately. Anyone have a similar issue... And solution??
The speakers in my kitchen are driven by a Sonos Connect Amp. I have Sonos products on all floors. When configuring Google Voice Services, it sees all floors, but only sees my Play. Connect Amp and Bar/Subwoofer are not seen. shall I keep digging or is it impossible? Thank you.
Hello Everyone, I live in the Netherlands and I recently purchased a Sonos Beam with 2 Play 1 (all in the living room) and an IKEA/Sonos speaker for the bedroom. I also have a Google Home Hub. I managed to play Spotify properly on the Google Home Hub using voice control and I also manage to play Spotify on all Sonos speakers using the Sonos Android App. I have the Beam connected to a Sony Android TV and, if I ask it to play Spotify, it automatically turn on the TV and plays Spotify, but I cannot manage to use Google assistant to play Spotify on the Beam (and the 2 Play 1) having the TV off. Similarly, I cannot use google assistant to play Spotify on the IKEA speaker in the bedroom: when I ask Google assistant to play music on that speaker, it says that he is going to play Spotify on that speaker, but eventually ti says he cannot help with it yet. Does anybody had a similar case? How can I fix it? Thanks a lot!!!
Google on Sonos One will play and understand my commands, but the Google Home app will not see it as a Google Smart Device and therefore cannot set up routines etc. Open fault ticket with Sonos and was closed with no response after my replies.... Just set up Google assistant on my Sonos Beam - assistant recognizes my commands like add Milk to shopping list, but when I ask it to play a artist on Spotify it tries and then says - "device isn't available right now" . I can play Spotify music through Sonos app on all speakers including the Beam. I have removed the Google assistant from the Beam and added it back just to see if that fixed it. I did change the name of the device during the process of setting it up. Has anyone run into this error and figured out how to fix it.
I can't tell Google Assistant to play music from my phone, everytime I speak to Google Assistant on the phone like "play some piano in the living room" or "play something on sonos one", the Assistant always responds with "Sorry, I can't do that yet." Is it just me or Google Assistant actually can't do that yet?
Hi, i have a google home in my kitchen. When a song is playing and I ask it to be added to my library, it adds it. When I try to do the same when music is playing through my beam, google says that it is not able to do add the song to my library. I am the only user set up on the beam. Does anyone know why this might be? Thank you
As the title says, I know it is possible to do via the app by adding a Room/Group to another one which is currently playing and the music will be played in sync. As it is a bit annoying to always open up the app when I move rooms, I'd like to just be able to give a voice command (using Google Home) to handle the above mentioned actions. Example: Currently playing a Spotify playlist in the living room on a Play One stereo pair. I want to go to the kitchen (where another Sonos 1 is currently sitting not playing anything), so I'd like to tell my Google Home for example: "Extend music to the kitchen" and after returning to the living room something like "Stop playing in the kitchen". I guess it is not possible that way up to now, so I suggest including something like this in the future, because that would make it much easier to enjoy multi-room music. The constant fiddling with the app is a real disturbance given the fact, that voice assistants are now supported (another example: Alarm
