I bought one of the sonos 1s on release as i thought alexa would be working. Alexa, play blah blah on napster. No chance so i, along with many others requested that napster be added to the list of compatible streaming services. Its been added to the list was the standard reply, except it never happened and probably never will. A lot of us requested being able to play local files too, yet another pie in the sky dream. So, speakers out of warranty and google assistant appears later than expected, no napster as a compatible service again. Are we going to get this or am i only going to be saying, hey google, youre rubbish rather than alexa, youre rubbish.
When requesting a song or a radio station by voice, after saying 'ok/hey Google' this triggers the assistant on both Sonos and my Google Pixel 3 phone. The song then starts playing on my phone as well as Sonos! It is very annoying. A semi workaround is to specify the room name, i.e. Play radio on bedroom speaker, but then the radio station starts playing because the Sonos speaker received the command and it stops and starts playing again after a few seconds because the phone has sent the command!? How can I get around this?
When I try and link Google Assistant to my Sonos One(s) I get as far as the page that says ‘Go to your Google Assistant App’, however when I click it it redirects me to the App Store despite the Google Assistant App being installed on my phone. I have have tried uninstalling both apps, hard resetting my phone and resetting the Sonos system countless times, but every time I still get misdirected. Has anyone else seen encountered the same problem?
I was celebrating when finally Google assistant update landed here in UK.quickly changed over voice assistance from Alexa to this. But then.. It knocks off the Right speakers mic as i set my sonos on stereo pair. Has this issue been patched up yet from an update? Left is the dominant speaker when creating a stereo pair and its the only speaker with enabled mic when changing voice service to google assistant.
I have two Sonos Ones that are used as left right speakers in my living room. I never had any issue with them. Recently, I added a third One, this time in my bedroom. I have been having random errors not being able to play music since this new purchase. Today one radio station stopped working within the Sonos app, stating an encoding error. I could not cast anything to Sonos from my usual Podcast or Radio station app either. It would just not connect. I tried unplugging my speakers and force quitting the app but it wouldn’t do anything. My only other devices on the wifi are my iPhone and iPad. I have a Wyze camera in another room. The wifi coverage is excellent in my entire apartment, and the network is set to automatically assign devices to 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz. I went through the list of wireless interference issues but I really don’t see anything related to my set up. My Ones are far away from any other wireless device, microwave or anything that could interfere. I did manage to get the r
Hi, I was so excited about Google Assistant integration coming to Sonos as I have a library of about 20,000 tracks of uploaded music in my Google Play library. Unfortunately, even after upgrading my free account to unlimited, with a 3 months free trial, I can't get the Google Assistant to play any of my uploaded music. It keeps telling me I need to re-sign-in on the Sonos app. I have tried this with no luck. Am I doing something wrong or is this functionality not yet available? It works fine with music I haven't uploaded. I can understand Google Assistant not being able to work with a free account but surely uploaded music should be accessible if you have an unlimited subscription? I do hope this functionality is coming soon as i generally only listen to my personal library, rather than new music available though music services. Many thanks Darren
I have a sonos system in the office and at home. I want to have my google assistan also working in the office but If i add it trough the sonos app it opens the appstore for goole assustant and after that the browser it opened gives a 404 on the url . How Can i add the two Sonos systems?
Just bought a Sonos one. I have Spotify Premium as my Default Provider in Google Home, it works on the 3 other google minis I have. But Sonos one keeps saying I am sorry I cant help with that, or I dont know how to do that. If I change my default music service to Google Play Music it works perfectly ( still got a couple of days remaining on current subscription). I have unlinked and relinked spotify on google home and the sonos app but nothing seems to work, anyone had a similar issue?
Via the Sonos Controller, I am able to play radio.com stations on my Sonos One speaker, which is configured with Google Assistant Voice support. However, if I say "Hey Google, play 670 The Score on radio.com" it says, "Alright, playing WSCR on radio.com" followed by "Sorry, there was an error for the Kitchen." This has been happening since the implementation. If configured with Alexa instead, it works. This happens with every radio.com station that I've tested.
Hi Google Assistant is now available, great I thought so linked it all up and went to add a music service. The only one i can choose or want to is Spotify. It states that the free will work on Google Home, Assistant speakers and Android TV devices. It does not work and Google asks me to look at the app for more help. I am assuming it won’t work with free Spotify then? M
Hi all! I added one of my speakers to Google Assistant and now we can give it instructions what to do. But when I try to connect my second Sonos One speaker my sonos controller tells me that all of my speakers have been connected. This is not true cause when I try to give commands to my other speaker it does not respond. How can I add my second speaker to Google Assistant? Can I only add 1 of my Sonos One speakers? Thanks for support!
I have 7 sonos unts, non of which have integrated voice assistants. I have a spotify premium account and can play multiple different tracks from spotify across the sonos units, so far so good. however when I ask the google mini to play a track on a particular unit, then a different track on a different unit, it appears that i can only play the same track across the multiple units. surely this can't be the case- Spotify is thee source in both examples so why can't i play different tracks via the google assistant mini?
I have a Sonos 5.1 (beam, sub and 2 ones). When I turn off the tv using the google assistant the sonos speakers are automatically muted. The don’t unmute automatically if I play music (i.e. Spotify). Is there a way to disable this automatic muting?
I received an email from Sonos today announcing that Google Assistant will now be able to be used with my Sonos system. I continue to get a message from Sonos that this feature "is not available in your country". Do you whe it will be available? My Sonos system is up to date. Thanks Peter Douglas
I have a play:1 and have added the Google assistant voice service successfully to the Sonos app. I linked everything and for a success message. I can see my speaker in the Google home app. When i go to Services->Music in the Google home app, Sonos is not available as a choice. Only Google play music and YouTube music, and no default provider are.options. below that are Deezer and Spotify neither of which I have. The last option says, Other Music Services but it is not clickable. When I try to tell google to "play Phish from Sonos on the patio speaker" it always attempts to play from Google play music but then gives me this error "Sorry, it looks like you need to log in again on Google play music on the Sonos app". So I do that, it says it's successful then o try again and same problem. How do I get google assistant to recognize Sonos as a music provider and properly link my accounts?
Hi, since yesterday Google Assistant is finally available in the UK. I have some speakers in the UK and others at my place in Spain. I only use one Sonos account registered in the UK. My Google account is also registered in the UK. However, when I try to use GA as a voice service, it tells me "not available in your country". I am currently in Spain, but that shouldn't make any difference as all my system is registered in the UK. Tried using a VPN but that doesn't work either. Alexa works fine with all speakers. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a Google Assistant routine invoked by the voice command "Local news" (it plays a radio station from TuneIn as a Sonos Favorite, because Sonos GA has a bug playing it directly). Today I saw a repeat of a problem I've seen before. I said "Local news", and Sonos GA said "Sorry, I can't play local news yet. ". I said it again, same response. Said it again, this time it gave the correct response and played the radio station. I checked my Google Assistant transcript, and it shows that it heard "Local news" all 3 times. Any idea what might cause this bug?
I have a Google mini and a Sonos play:3 in the same room. Since the play:3 does not have voice, I have to ask the Google mini to play the music. If I just say: "hey google, play some music" the music plays on the mini which is definitely not what anyone wants... I have to say the room where the speaker is but not only that, if I setup both speaker in the same room the mini still gets the job. You can set default media playback device for the Google mini but no Sonos speakers can be selected. Is that it? Is that what we waiting so long for? Cause if that's so, I'm getting rid of all of this and just getting Chromecast enabled speakers. Please let me know I did something stupid and this can be fixed.
I am unable to add Google Assistant to Sonos ‘Voice Services’ because I receive the warning ‘Unable to add Google Assistant’ because “… your device’s Android version is not compatible with GA”. I am running Android v5.1.1 I want to set up a Google Home speaker to control Sonos directly – I do NOT require that I control Sonos via voice on my android mobile device. At present, I am able to use Google’s ‘Home App’ on my android mobile device to see the Google speakers, Chromecast etc on my network and these show that these are using Google Assistant. I should like the same facility for my Sonos speakers. Is there a way of setting up Sonos to work directly with Google Assistant on Google Home speakers (I emphasise not on mobile phone) without having a mobile phone/tablet running android v6 or later? For example, is there a way to do this via the Sonos app on a Windows 10 PC?
On the google assistant site it says you can tell google "i like this song" or "thumbs up" and it will like/dislike the currently playing song on spotify. But when i play spotify via sonos speakers setup with google assistant and i tell it "thumbs up" or "i like this song" it just says "sorry i cant do this yet". any idea why this doesn't work? i tried relinking spotify etc but that doesnt help
