Dear Sonos

As a Sonos user which uses your integration with google assistant I think it’s absolutely horrible that you can’t choose the volume on the assistant. It doesn’t even include a mode for the evening/night.

When I’m asking the assistant or for example turning of the lights in the night, assistant just screams out loud with the last playback volume and wakes up my whole family.

This basically ruins the whole experience and makes it unusable, I’m even thinking of ditching the assistant on the Sonos speakers and buying some nests instead which i think shouldn’t even be considered when already having a full Sonos system.

Please address this issue asap, or at least release a quick fix.

Hi @ArvidSonos, thanks for reaching out. Thanks for bringing this up and we understand where you're coming from. Regarding your concern about adjusting the Google assistant volume in Sonos, it is not supported yet in Sonos, but I’ll have this checked with our specialists about this concern.

Let us know how you get on with the advice above.

We're here to answer any further questions you have.

Hi Sonos, I have exactly the same request from @ArvidSonos that the volume of the google assistant is way too loud and there’s no way to toggle night mode like in other google home products, instead of saying “Turning of 2 lights”, a simple chime like the google products would be nice. That would be super useful and frankly not having to always lower the volume before going to bed.

Could you guys please address this issue ASAP, at least a little update would be great. Thanks! 🙏

Hallo,

I have just bought a Sonos One to use in the bedroom and i was really surprised that I not could change the volume of the voice google assistant. Its absolute to high in a bedroom!

I hope you soon can add a solution or I have to buy a Google Nest…..and that is I not really what I want to do..

is this still a thing?

I thought I found my self on the BEAM adjusting the Google Assistant volume recently while randomly struggling with grouping and previous play source and muting. yeah, it was really weird. something ive not struggled with before.

Anyway, I reflect the remarks above. the Google Assistant voice is WAY too loud! (it is not related to the previously played/set volume of the source audio)

Also, increased delay in actions such as turning the volume up of music. just me?

Yeah I’m also still amazed that this is still an issue.

People reported that a screaming Google Assistant voice through their Sonos devices makes the feature unusable for more than a year now.

To be honest, I’m kinda disappointed. Being able to use an assistant without waking everybody up at home and without the neighbors knowing I’m using Google Assistant because of her screaming responses back at me, is about 30% of the reasons why I bought these devices.

But still, we’re keeping hope!

Please Sonos, proof that our hope is justified :kissing_heart:

I’m also suffering from this same issue. Sonos, there are posts that go back more than 2 years about not being able to control the Google Assistant volume independent from music or the TV volume. I really love the sound of my Beam, and I want to invest in several more Sonos speakers but I absolutely need this rectified before I take that leap. Sonos please, please fix this issue!
