I have a large(ish) Sonos system locked down at 8.4 (because I still use CR100 controllers). The bridge has finally died so I have temporarily wired one of my ZP Amps as a bridge. Is it possible to buy a boost and use it, or will it need me to upgrade the system version (which obviously I cannot do).I don’t want to accidentally trash the CRs by adding a component that needs a higher software version.
I ordered a Sonos amp 12/24. Ship date was supposed to be 1/14 but now they are saying it’s delayed and don’t know when it will ship. My question is has anyone actually been receiving their orders at all or does the ship date just keep getting pushed back for everyone? I’ve noticed these expected ship dates being displayed for the last 6 months. Has anyone actually received one?
Hello all. I’m working to rip an old non-functional crestron system out and simplify. What we haverack with 3x gen1 sonos zone units, ie unamplified devices that go into a crestron audio matrix. Plan to remove all of this and replace with 3x of the newer ‘AMP’ models. These run to 3 speaker zones.2x Direct TV receivers in the rack, routed through crestron. Looking for options here. Willing to move DTV boxes to each TV, but then how to get audio into Sonos. ‘Port’ units? What if I put a soundbar in at the TV and used that for input, can sonos take input on the sound bar and distribute it to the other speakers etc? ie, DTV->Arc->AMP1 and AMP2 and a Sonos One?Alternatively, keep DTV in the rack and figure out how to stream the video to each TV. Can’t figure out if there is an ‘on net’ streamer for DTV i can use or not. If they are in the rack, can I double duty the AMPs as inputs? For instance, DTV1→AMP1 then stream anywhere. And.. if so… can the AMP’s input be separate
i have Sonos Move but because of my OS (12+ on iphone 6) have to downgrade it to S1 in order to use it. I understand this means certain Move features may be lost but can’t find any info about what they might be. Anyone know? Another related question - if I downgrade to S1 can I then upgrade it back to S2 if I get the suitable OS (14+)?
I set up a new Sonos system today and am having problems with getting sound from the Sub. My system consists of the following:--Two Sonos Ones connected by wifi--Arc connected by wifi--Sub paired with the Arc and connected to the router via ethernetFrom the beginning, I cannot get sound to play out of the sub. I have tried all the usual remedies including resetting the router, powering off all Sonos devices, factory resetting the sub and reinstalling, and switching the Sub connection from wireless to wried. I checked by sliding the sub bass level back and forth on bass heavy content. None of these steps have helped. This is the second Sonos system I have set up in the last 6 months and I had the same problem with my first system. When I installed a Boost via ethernet to my router, on my other system, that solved the problem. I do not have a Boost on my current system, but could acquire one if that is the solution (although it seems odd to have to have a Boost for the Sub to work). Is i
Hi there, long time listener, first time enquirer. I’d like to place my Sonos One SL speaker on built in book shelves, only problem is that neither side of the plug can be squeezed between the wall and back of the shelf (there are a few centimeters to play with though). I’ve come up with another one of my brilliant(?) ideas - based on an old conversation on here - to cut the plug off, fish the cord behind the shelf system and reattach a plug to the end.I’m hoping I just have to find the right plug - I believe I just need something that will accommodate a 3watt, 120volt, 15amp speaker? I think this is my only question. Other than am I going to burn my block down?Any insight and suggestions welcome and appreciated - thanks in advance!
I have some old components, so can’t upgrade to S2. On the S1 app, when trying to ‘add a service’, I get a message “App update needed.” Does “update” mean upgrading to S2, or is it just a new version of S1? In other words, how do I add additional services to S1 without updating to S2?
Picked up a Gen 2 lamp yesterday. Can someone confirm if it is S2 only or can be downgraded to S1 to work with my other speakers please? It is not clear on the compatibility list, there is no Gen 1 or 2 noted against the lamp. I don’t want to set it up if I need to return it. ThanksChris
How to Setup Play One as a standalone on the same network (different SSID) where there is already a Sonos System
I have a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and 2 x Play 1’s setup as a surround sound system in my TV room that works very well. They all connect wirelessly to an Ubiquity Access Point that is hard-wired to a Router that is directly connected to the Internet.I am trying to connect my new Sonos ONE (Gen2) as a standalone system in another part of the house wirelessly to another Ubiquity Access Point that is also hard-wired to the SAME Router. Both Access Points have different SSID’s as they are far apart and the one cannot “see” the other.During the new setup process the Sonos S2 App immdiately picks up the new Sonos ONE and the installation went well up to the point where the App decides to connect the Sonos ONE wirelessly to the existing Sonos System’s SSID which will obviously not work as it is too far away.PS: When I attempt to configure the new Sonos ONE my Smart Phone (Android Ver 12), I am wirelessly connected to the SSID in the new part of the house where I want to use it as a standalone syste
Hello:I have a Beomaster 7000 with a phono, CD and tape. I purchased a 7 pin DIN with two RCA jacks to connect to my SONOS connect.I want to play the system to the line in on the SONOS. It will not play from any of the 7 pin connections. I got it to play from the headphone jack so I know the SONOS line in is working. There was another post that said to use the tape connection I tried both tape 1 and 2 with no success. The line in/out jack doesn’t work either. Possibly because I have only line out, not back in. It appears it may need both to make the loop?Any help would be appreciated.
I bought a Symfonisk from IKEA and was stunned to see the setup process asking for activating location services. Especially when it already connects to the device through bluetooth.I’ve already filed for a return but if there’s a way to do the setup without location services I’d cancel it…That’s a shame that they make it compulsory; I have only one device and it makes no technical sense at all. Afternoon all …. the perils of going Sonos shopping 😉Bought, installed and added an ARC and two Sonos One’s to work with a TV. In the main I think all good. They connect, they updated and give the indications they are close to working but not in the right room I think. We have a room called Otters Den. Originally, in that there was an AMP & a couple of ceiling speakers. The ceiling speakers are at this time still connected to the AMP. (wondering now if that’s confusing things?)The install process for the ARC appeared to go well. Also the first One the same. The second One a little more troublesome but seems in and connected. They are (should) be on wired connection although we have strong wifi here as well. But where the room is called Otters Den, the newly installed devices appear to be a new room called Otters Den 2 (the ARc and 1 x One) and Otters Den 3 (1 x One) …. fairly sure I didn’t ask to create new rooms but to add to Otters Den, Currently they look like this …. I’m a littl
To the old-schoolers out there like myself clinging on to v8.4 (for reasons of old hardware), it seems finally to have been killed by MacOS Monterey (at least on the desktop app) as Sonos now longer responds: I am restricted to the iOS app only and am kicking myself for updating my OS. If anyone knows of a setting or hack to bring it back to life, please let me know. My 3rd party MBS app still works (although not properly). If I were to update my Sonos version does anyone know which is the latest version of the system to definitely work with an S1 (not S2)? Do I even have a choice? Thanks!
I’m looking to get a subwoofer for my beam gen 2, but I keep reading about the mini sub Sonos will allegedly release later this year, according to ARS Technica:https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022/08/want-a-cheaper-sonos-subwoofer-youll-have-to-wait-even-longer/This system will be placed in a room that’s about 10’x10’, so the gen 3 at full price seems overkill, but what are my options? If I get a used gen 2 at a good price, then maybe it’ll be worth it. I’d like to get a mini sub version, but who knows when or even if it’ll actually release. What do you all suggest?
I have set up an TV in my bedroom. The room is large and I would like speakers closer to my bed so I don’t wake up chidren. Can I use a Ray soundbar turned low/off and have two One speakers next to the bed (left and right)? Thank you
