Beam Gen 2 + Sub Mini Tinny Dialogue

Hi all,Found some other posts like this one: Wondering whether there are other settings that I could try?Just got my Beam (gen2) + Sub Mini a few days ago, and dialogue sounds tiny…I’m coming from a Roku Streambar, dialogue there was clear (streaming using Fire TV Stick Max 4K, Roku Streambar strictly just for the soundbar functionality).It’s like, the sound effects are enhance with Sonos setup, dialogue clarity is reduced. With Roku Streambar (lower quality soundbar, of course), definitely not much sound effects, but dialogue clarity is great. Is this the expected result? I have speech enhancement on, true play on as well, even did the trick of tuning it by just strictly moving around the couch. TV is Hisense H9G. Streaming device is Fire TV Stick Max 4K.

pause not functioning well with new app

The new Sonos app does not seem to connect and manage Sonos speakers well. I now get a better experience going through Spotify and connecting to Sonos as an external speaker rather than using the Sonos app. Even opening the app to do things like pause the music, control speaker volume, or add/remove a speaker to the current playlist is buggy and most of the time non functional. I've had to pause music using the button on the Sonos speaker itself more in the last month than the last 8+ years owning the speaker.

sub cannot be updatedError 30 appears when updating. I've tried all the solutions for error 30, but I can't update. Is it a malfunction?

Update download stalling at 75% each time

I have a Sonos beam, about 5 years old and I just changed ISP so I need to update the WiFi details for Alexa to work - however working through this process on the Sonos app it keeps failing for an unknown reason - I try a factory reset (as advised by help files) and am told I need to download an update - however the update keeps stalling.....25% downloads in about 30 seconds but then it slows down to the point where it no longer seems to be downloading - last night I re- started the process about 9pm and then left it overnight and I came down in the morning only to see it still stuck where it was when I went to bed - about 75% - surely something is wrong here? I have 500mb fibre broadband which seems to be working well, and nothing else was streaming or downloading last night - please help as I am stuck and don't know how to get past this?

mid-June update - was that it?

Wearily opened my desk-based Sonos on Friday 14th JUne to find an update waiting. Feature 1 - compulsory to approve new set of T&C, which now include a load of new references to Sonos being able to switch what they like with any impact whatsoever on my existing system and I have no redress (sure, but I still have ordinary consumer rights, doh); new Feature 2 - nothing, as far as I can see. Still no search on local library, still unable to add new music to the library without an Error 913, still a load of bugs in the mobile controller (can’t switch between rooms, no current song title showing, random availability of volume control, library appears and reappears etc etc).Example - I tried to add a CD in itunes and then update the library. No new album/composer/artists appear, but the songs are there if you look for them (ny hand, no search of course). Half a dozen tries at this before making a new Itunes playlist from the CD, updating again (ten minutes) and voila, the playlist appea

Sonos app will not correctly recognize hardware…Solution

Setup…Arc, Sub Gen2, 2 Play1, Move2…2 rooms. Mive2 in one Arc/Sub/Play 1’s in the otherProblem…Could not complete updates and room setups using the app.After multiple attempts to update all the hardware, and have the app correctly identify room and sound assignments…and after 2 1 hour sessions with chat support, 3rd time was the charm.The Solution…Desktop appThe support person had me reset the router, power down and power up all hardware by unplugging the power cords, and then install the Sonos app on my Windows pc. Once I went through setup using the pc, all updates and configurations got completed, and the setup carried over to the iOS app on all my mobile devices.

Wired In Play 5 Gen 1 and Sub Gen 1

Due to poor WiFi signal and having the Play 5 and Sub in different rooms, I've wired in the Play 5 and the Sub to my router. Just wondering if anyone knows if having them wired in overrides the WiFi or should I disable WiFi on both?

Inhaltsdienste fehlen

Seit der neuen App funktioniert gar nichts mehr!  System aktualisieren geht nicht,  Inhaltsdienste finden geht nicht!  Es ist wirklich nicht lustig,  wenn man ein Gerät hat,  das nicht so funktioniert,  wie es eigentlich funktionieren sollte!  Hättet ihr wenigstens die alte App Version belassen,  aber nein!  Wie lange müssen wir darauf warten,  bis alles wieder so läuft,  wie vorher?  Moderator Note - Translation by Google:Since the new app nothing works anymore!  Updating the system doesn't work, finding content services doesn't work!  It's really not fun when you have a device that doesn't work the way it's supposed to!  Would you have at least left the old app version, but no!  How long do we have to wait until everything goes back to how it was before?

DTS and samsung tv

Hi I'm choosing between an LG C 65 in and the Samsung d90. The Samsung doesn't support DTS. Is this an issue as will the Sonos pick this up? Should I choose the LG which does them have this for better sound? I think the Samsung is a slighter better tv screen wise but more interested in the audio aspect as not a huge difference in picture quality .  thanks!

Apple Music Library will not connect to Sonos. How do I modify Apple Music Library to conform to SMBv2?

Following Sonos’ system “upgrade” my Apple Music Library was no longer accessible by Sonos. Calling Sonos Support meant waiting an hour to talk to someone. One email from Sonos mentioned that old sharing protocols were no longer supported but that SMBv2 was supported. How do I modify/change my Apple Music Library to SMBv2??

Benq TK710, Arc, and media source

I would like to connect BenQ TK710 (eARC), Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub (Gen 3), and an Apple TV/Xbox/Nintendo Switch/PC. I was thinking thatSources—>HDMI matrix with eARCMatrix—> Sonos Arc Matrix —> BenQWill this work? I know there are multiple threads on this but in reading them I still cannot figure it out with my projector and the set up I need.  Any problems to this setup and any HDMI matrix you’d recommend?  Thanks

Sonos ray/sonos app will not connect to network

My app will not connect to my network. I can't find my network on the app and I can't get my Sonos ray to connect. I just bought it. My network is a 5g router called ZTE, it connects fine with my TV and phone and so on.

installation use one SL

Hey sonos community,I've encountered several other questions, more or less related to this one.I can't add my third One SL speaker to the app. It is recognized (does the sound PIN thing), but not registered. It stays on unnamed room. It requires an update, but this never succeeds. It gives several error codes (1000, 1001, 1002 among others). Router resets, sonos resets (including factory resets), all without effect. Also tried installing directly wired to router (with ethernet cable) no success. I'm getting really frustrated. Obviously there is nothing wrong with the wifi.If I close the app and restart, it promptly jumps to a mandatory update option, however (to no suprise), this doesn't work. In this case I dont get a error code, it just doesn't work. I can only use the app again after unplugging the faulty one sl speaker.Anybody got any actual sollutions, apart from trying again or resetting this or that?All help is greatly appreciated. Frank

spotify not playing correctly

Am I the only person who is seriously loosing patience with Sonos. I have a play bar (gen1) a sub and 2 play ones as surrounds. When I try to play a track in the Sonos app from Spotify sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. When I try to select a track nothing happens.  Also there are even times the app can’t find my system.  I use an iPhone 14 and an iPad. Happens on both.  I didn’t even think it was possible for a company the size of Sonos to develop a new app that is even worse than the rubbish it already had but it seems to me that Sonos has managed to do exactly that.

Sonos Move Balance stopped working

New app - less upgrade; more retrograde - it's rubbish!

The new Sonos App is absolute rubbish. I have never felt compelled to give “feedback” but it is so poor as to be utterly useless. There are large delays in doing things. It often won’t let me access anything. Repeatedly, I have given up and sought an alternative. In terms of usability it is a complete waste of time - my time!!!!!! I have almost stopped using it altogether and now listen to my choices using a bluetooth boombox - it may not provide good sound but it’s a darn site more reliable! If Sonos don’t get this sorted imminently then I will take a lump hammer to my speakers and get something that actually works! Have you forgotten who your customers actually are!!!!!!!!!!! Smart speakers are no use with a dumb app!!!

Sonos Five + Echo Dot

Hello AllRecently got a Five for the kitchen and looking to add one of my spare Echo Dots to it for Alexa. Hooked up via 3.5mm cable, set line in to device type and also set to Aux on Alexa app but no sound coming through the Five, what am I doing wrong?

Speakers not working in one room

I have an old Bose system of built-in speakers--4 zones.The system is now controlled by 4 Sonos Connects. 3 of them are connected to a pair of speakers in each of 3 different rooms. I control on/off and volume through the Sonos app, either on my computer or on my iphone. These are working fine.The 4th is in my Main Room, with 4 sets of small speakers placed around the room. I have a Bose remote control which gives some flexibility (volume, surround sound). Here is the snag...no matter how many restarts I do, I cannot get these speakers to play. In the past, when I had this problem (often), restarts always straightend things out. (BTW--what I would really like to do is somehow bypass Bose...I would be very happy to set surround to ON and volume to medium, lock it all in, and then control the room only with the Sonos app, the way I do the other 3 rooms.)In case it matters, the other components connected to the system are a Sonance 12-50 and a Panamax MR4000.I realize that this is more of

Bluetooth support

Trying to connect Bluetooth earbuds to Sonos but it doesn’t find it. I have an Arc and Beam. Yes, I know Arc or Beam don’t have Bluetooth. The Sonos App suggests ant Bluetooth headset can be connected to Sonos via the App - not just the Sonos Ace. Listen to Sonos radio on my Arc all the time. Very long time Sonos customer and lately Sonos support service are disappointing - agents with language problems and sadly the good knowledge that was the highlight of Sonos in the past.
