When trying to open my Sonos app in the bedroom which is one floor up and across a room from my router I get the "you need to be connected to a wireless network" message from the SonoS app even though my IOS phone is connected to the router, even more strange is that if I open Spotify I can see my SonoS system through the Spotify app and play to them with no problem , does the SonoS app require a higher quality signal to connect ??
Turn off WiFi Assist in the iOS settings. It seems the WiFi Assist function tends to (ironically) drop WiFi in favor of 3/4G at the very slightest signal degradation. Since Sonos does not work over 3/4G you get the message you are seeing.View original
