Here we are years into this issue and on the most recent iPhone, with the most recent iOS update and the most recent Sonos app it still doesn’t show in the iOS Lock Screen?
No Airplay connected, nothing has the controls, no AirPods it’s just one room with one Sonos product and one iPhone.
And still no Lock Screen.

Thanks for pointing out this issue. It’s terrible the problems we have, isn’t it! Perhaps it’s time to move on from Sonos?
Not sure how much control Sonos has over the Apple operating system. If Apple chooses to block lock screen display from use if there are other AirPlay 2 devices in the loop, as has been discussed in many threads, I’m not sure that Sonos has the ability to code around that, and still get approved by Apple to release their software.

Then why does every other music and audio app have the ability to have controls on the Lock Screen when Sonos can’t? It’s the only one!

Because the Sonos app doesn't actually play music. It's just a remote control, all the music actually plays through the Sonos hardware. So since no music goes through the controller device, iOS doesn't see it as a music player.
