Hi there.

We privately sold our Sonos Bridge and Play 1 speaker yesterday but have not unlinked these products from our account. Can anyone help with any instruction on how best to go about fixing this oor will we have to ask the buyer to return so we can reconnect to our WiFi system?

When the buyer resets the devices and adds to their system, they will disappear from your Sonos account online.

When the buyer does a factory reset, and then sets up their own account, the items will be removed from your account.

Normally speaking, you want to do the factory reset before it leaves your hands, it gives the buyer a “fresh” device, and their initial setup then does all that extra work for you.

The unfortunate case when selling a device that isn’t factory reset is that they technically don’t have to set up their own account, they can just connect it to their system.

Just ask them to do the factory reset for you before setting their system up, and they’ll then be forced to create their own account.

Edit: I am more verbose than @Mr. T :) But we said the same thing.
