"Playing now" notification on Mac/PC

I used to have a Nexus 7 tablet and there was a great widget available for the Sonos App that could be set to a particular room, giving brief information such as volume, what was playing now etc and didn't require me to load up the full Sonos App fullscreen. Can a similar thing be added to Sonos for Windows/Mac? As an example, I use Mac OS (as well as Windows on a main PC) and after initial reservation, the notifications that pop up in the top right of the screen have turned out to be really useful. iTunes for instance can be set to tell you what song is playing. Can a similar thing be done in Windows? I know if the desktop controller is loaded in Windows desktop mode you can hover over the taskbar icon and skip tracks, but there is no information and you can't read the text without bringing the whole controller fullscreen.
