Menu items grayed out

Operating Sonos thorugh OSX 10.9.5 - on the controller the manage menu items are all grayed out, as well as the edit menu items and the update option. I can play the music library but can't update it.

Correct. As indicated on the Supported OS FAQ. You'll need to either update the OS, if possible, or find another device to run a controller on.

For the record, you can still have music reside on that mac. It's ability to serve music hasn't been impacted, it's just the ability to run the controller that is compromised.
