I built a free Jukebox for your Sonos System

Hey everyone,

I hope it’s allowed here to talk about this, I want to showcase of what’s possible to build using the Sonos Developer Platform: https://auxcord.org

I’ve seen hundreds of threads here on the Sonos forum, asking for a Jukebox for their Sonos system: Allowing guests to queue their own songs easily.

https://auxcord.org does exactly that:

  • Never replace the currently playing song: always queue
  • Your guests can use any phone to add songs
  • Your guests don't need any account or login
  • Disable the speaker's hardware buttons, so you control the volume and playlist
  • Share a link or QR code ahead of time, so guests can pre-queue
  • Prevent the same song from being played multiple times
  • No need to hand over your phone, or have your friends spell the title of the song

This is a new project I’ve built, because I needed it for myself. It’s completely free, and I have no plans on commercialising it. Depending on the feedback, I might continue working on it, to improve the design and make it easier to use. Also, if there is any interest I might open source it, or I can always give GitHub access for anyone’s interested, just let me know :)

Hi @krausefx

Welcome to the Sonos Community, and thank you for sharing your work!

A good idea, and I like the memes too!

@krausefx - Spectacular!  I cannot wait to try it out.

Very cool idea.  Don’t use Spotify, so can’t try it out, but really like the idea.  Would be very cool if the queue was visible on a TV screen, perhaps via a rhasberry pi, as well.
