Google Home and Sonos

I know this has been asked in various ways on here but I can't find a satisfactory answer. I have a Google Home, Play 1 and Play 3 and I dearly want them to be able to link together using the Google Home as voice control for all the speakers. Is this going to be possible at some point? The lack of clarity is putting me off buying a Play 5. Sonos please give us a hint!!

Sonos has said this will be done in 2018. I doubt anything more will be forthcoming, and 2018 can mean Dec 2018 as well.
Exactly the same as me - I was given a Sonos 1 as part of a promotion and I'm regretting not taking another "prize". Control via Google Home/Assistant is essential for all my smart home equipment, so it doesn't matter how good the sound is, Sonos is the wrong choice for me.
I've attached two links below that are really close, but we need native support. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
