Does the Sonos app now work with Huawei phones (eg P20 Pro)? Or does the Huawei software keep killing it?

There have been reports that, on some Huawei Android phones like the P20 Pro, music playback stops after the phone goes to sleep, presumably because the phone kills the Sonos app. This happens despite exempting the app from battery optimisation (see the steps in the second link):

Has this been fixed? Is it a known issue? Are there Huawei users which can make the Sonos app work just fine?

On a more technical note, is the Sonos app set as a foreground service? This should help prevent the OS from killing it

I know I can benefit from a generous return period when I buy the Sonos, but I'd like to get the full picture before I decide to pull the trigger.

Thanks!

Just to note that this appears to be a specific issue with streaming content that actually resides on the phone. For all other content, once playback has been started via the Sonos app. you could drop the phone down the toilet and it would not interrupt playback.

I see. That shouldn't be a problem for me, then, as my music sources are: my NAS, Tidal, and internet radio - nothing on my phone (other than a small subset of downsampled files from my NAS, which I'd never play from my phone when I'm home)
