Controller App no longer connecting to Play:1 speakers

As per the title really. The controller app can still see and play on all my speakers but only when it’s in close proximity to a Sonos One (not an old Play:1) speaker. So I can’t control sets of speakers from my phone when I’m in the same room as them!

Nightmare when playing musical statues at my son’s 9th birthday party last week!

Any suggestions as to how or if I can fix this? I understand that you can’t make a stereo pair between Play:1s and Ones so that won’t help.

As the controller does not communicate with the Sonos device directly, the distance between the two is irrelevant.

Your phone uses WiFi to communicate with your router, then your router communicates with the Sonos device via SonosNet, WiFi or Ethernet.

I would recommend using the wireless strength KB article to find where the signal strength issue really is.
