Once again the Sonos controller update on my Aple M.2 Mac mini/Ventura OS has caused the controller to lose access to the music library. The music library’s access location has not changed amd I’, cross as hell at the prospect of updating the iTunes library details for this witless controller. So I am playing my music to my Sonos 3 and 5 speakers by using Apple Airplay on my iPhone. Why the heck do I keep the Sonos Controller when all I want to do is play music library tracks on the speakers and the darn controller keeps on losing access after the far-too-common updates? Come on Sonos. It’s been months since the Apple M2 Mini and Ventura were releassed. Get your act together.I’m already using an Apple HomePod speaker in a second home where Sonos controller updates on a MacBook Air M.1/Ventura kept losing access to the MacBook Air’s music library. The HomePod’s sound quality is as good as the Sonos 1’s I’ve previously been using. That means I’ll get another AirPod there for stereo acce
Hi everyone. I just got a SYMFONISK speaker and successfully installed the Sonos app on my Samsung phone. I added the Spotify service correctly but if I try to install the Tidal service the app goes into error even though the Tidal site gave me confirmation of authorization.Has this happened to anyone yet?
Out of nowhere, all of my speakers won’t connect.Nothing has changed, other than rebooting the router (which I do fairly regularly). All of the speakers show that they _are_ connected to the router (looking at the router dashboard), but “Let’s Fix It” keeps telling me to unplug/replug router, turn off/on all the speakers… all of which I’ve done but no change.Don’t know what else to try. FYI, this is all via WIFI.I have pair of Play 5’s, two stereo pair Moves, Beam 2, Sub and One’s for surrounds.
Our music library contains many WMA files, most of which are recognised and indexed by the Sonos app properly. Some WMA files are however missing from the library, even so they are recognised and played correctly by other apps, e.g. Windows Media Player or VLC.We’ve already checked all the suggestions in the article “Missing tracks or albums in Sonos music library”, and the missing WMA files contain all the required metadata, like artist, title, track number, album artist and album title. Is there anything in particular that needs to be present in a WMA file for Sonos to accept it, or that prevents Sonos from indexing it? What do we need to look for? What requirements do WMA files have to meet to be compatible with Sonos? Happy to provide examples of files that work and don’t work, if that helps.
Sonos devices not in Windows Controller after wifi router change and Macafee Total Protection installation, Music Library won’t play
Before: Three Sonos devices, Play 1, Play 3, and Connect: amp. Sonos Windows Controller installed on my desktop, Able to play music from Music Library, and life was good. Connect:Amp hardwired into Ethernet network, other two wireless. Then: I installed Mcaffee Total Protection on desktop, and and changed my wireless router from Google Fiber provided wifi to a Google Mesh Wifi network. It took some doing, but I was able to get all three devices to come back up, streaming works fine. The problem: Windows App does NOT show the Sonos devices like before, trying to play from Music Library from my IPhone or Ipad returns “Server Cannot be Found”, and won’t play. I saw that Mac Total Protect can cause firewall problems, so I turned Firewall off, but no change. Looking at my Google Fiber network diagram, Sonos devices are there, but now grayed out, and designated “Disconnected”
I'd like to have a controller in the kitchen that guests can use to control the music and that shows now playing info. Either on the wall or on a stand. I understand that Sonos doesn't make anything like this. Has anyone else come up with a solution that they like and could share? I saw that the new Google pixel tablet has a docking station so that might be an option but don't know much about it. Thanks for any suggestions.
If a guest is playing a song on my Sonos and I want to add that song to one of my playlists the S2 controller won't allow me to add it. Or even take me to the album or song info on the S2 controller so I can manually add it. However, I can see in the S2 controller what song is being played. I don't see why this connection couldn't be established so you can continue curating your playlist from songs guests are playing. When I click the (...) It doesn't give any options.
When I upgraded to a Mac mini and transferred everything over from the old Mac, the sonos app on our Android phones won’t sync with the Android app on my desktop. Can’t see the music libraries, can’t see any custom Sonos playlists that I created on the desktop, etc. I also have a bunch of iTunes playlists on my desktop that Sonos doesn’t see, no matter how many times I point to the new music Library on the mini.
Normal Apple Music account, seems to have stopped letting me play different music in different rooms
Hi folks Apologies if this been answered already or if it’s a daft question. I have noticed this happening in the last year or so. When I try to play different music in 2 different rooms, one room will stop playing after 1 song while the other room will continue. I pay for just the bog standard Apple Music (9.99 a month). Have Apple stopped Sonos from being able to play separate albums in separate rooms? It certainly worked fine when I first purchased the system.Any help appreciated and apologies for wasting anyone’s time, first post here! Thanks
Do you have any help on why all of my songs have transferred over to my new PC on the SONOS app but the playlists have not transferred? In iTunes I had exported the iTunes playlists and then successfully imported them onto my new PC (the playlists show up in iTunes), but Sonos is not syncing the playlists. I did the import prior to installing and updating the SONOS app and I have updated my music library. Thanks again for any help.
Hello, I’m trying to use YouTube Music on my Sonos One (all worked correctly before)It’s asked me to re-authorize app with a 9 digit code. After I enter the code: Access blocked authorisation errorYou can’t sign in from this screen because this app doesn’t comply with Google’s secure browser policy. If this app has a website, you can open a web browser and try signing in from there. Error 403: disallowed_useragentPhone is quite old (Huawei Mate 9) - have tried updating my web browser, still no cigar. YouTube account is not premium. Is this a Sonos issue or to do with my iron age phone? Thanks for your thoughts!
All my Sonos have lost connection bar a Play 5 - All others are saying not compatible with S2 Controller - I dont have an S2 controller and never have upgraded. Is this the forcing you to change policy ? I have looked and says re-connect using S1 - I have S1 and there is no option to add devices!! aaaaaagh
Error 701 - podcasts I cannot currently play podcasts on Sonos. I am getting error 701.It is via the S1 app and speaker system… Interestingly, I note that “podcasts and shows” no longer appears in the search bar on the S2 app. (I have a mix of S1 and S2 units). is anyone else struggling with Podcasts?
My system is two Play 1 speakers connected at 5GHz to a TalkTalk router (TalkTalk Hub). Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz have the same SSID. I have controller apps (S2) on iPad, Android phone and a Win11 Laptop also connected at 5GHz.My problem is that for roughly 50% of the time Sonos fails to find my music library which is on the laptop, reporting that the media server can’t be found. Mostly, but not always, restarting the laptop resolves the issue. On opening an S2 app, during the “searching for your Sonos system” few seconds, a transient message appears saying that one of my devices might be unplugged (which it isn’t). Both speakers play.Any ideas as to how to avoid these frequent and annoying laptop restarts?
Sonos works on all of my other tablets, phones, etc… The problem is with my Fire Tablet 7, 9th generation. When I open Sonos on my Fire Tablet then it says it needs updating. I click on the update button, it goes to the play store, and when I click in the play store to update the tablet doesn’t do anything. I have tried starting, restarting the app, nothing. On the Fire Tablet, in compatible devices, my Fire Tablet does show up as being compatible. I renamed it to make sure it’s the correct tablet. It is. Any help?
Hello,I’ve read the related posts but can’t seem to find an answer to my problem.I have my music library on my desktop computer along with the Sonos controller app. My Sonos system consists of a playbar and sub. I also have a Sonos boost because the Sonos system is connected wirelessly and all updates have been installed. It has all worked well since I added the boost about 2 years ago but now it’s started skipping a few seconds (maybe 10-15 secs) every couple of songs. I’ve monitored my wifi signal on my phone and laptop and haven’t noticed any problems. Any help would be much appreciated as this is a very annoying and somewhat embarrassing problem when I have friends over. Thanks,Dave

I have had an Audible.ca account for many years, I bought Sonos originally so that I could play my Audible books on Sonos. It worked well, but in the years I have had it, searching the Sonos/Audible book list has been a nightmare. It rarely worked and never, for example, gave a complete list of the books I had for any given author. In a bored moment, I tried it again yesterday - Joy!!! - search on Audible/Sonos worked perfectly and very quickly, amazing - nothing has changed on my Sonos for a while and I really do not keep track of Audible updates, so no idea when or why the system(s) started working.Today, I thought I would search for a book in my Audible library via Sonos and play it - but the Sonos service was not longer visible on the MacBook Pro. All I have done since last night is switch the Mac off last night, then on today - but there is no Audible service on the Mac, So I re-added the service, re-registered (it said I was already subscribed), the service reappeared in the
