Ever since the new Sonos app came out earlier this year, every day that I open it, my Apple Music service account has been removed, so every day, I have to add it back to my Sonos account. Why is this happening and is there a way to make it stop so it stays linked to my Apple Music account permanently?
I’m about a month Into using my Sonos Arc and Sonos One. I’ve been an Apple Music sub for only 3 months, so I’m not really familiar with them ,too. But, I can find albums on Apple that I can’t seem to find using the Sonos connection to Apple. And, today, after finding music on Apple, like NYE 2021 Carl Cox DJ mix, I they look for it in MySonos. I can find one cut from that album, then find the album from that cut, then play the album. It doesn’t show under Recently Played. And when I add it to MySonos, it doesn’t show up. Even though I can go back and try to add it again and the message offered me to remove it from MySonos. Am I doing something wrong here? I do realize that Apple is controlling responses to what I assume are Sonos data requests. Does the same thing happen on other services?
I was recently gifted the S1 G2 and subsequently bought Beam. Google Assistant works perfectly however I am having issues with Apple Music playing via the Google Assistant on both the S1 G2 and Beam. Apple Music plays through AirPlay and also via the Native Sonos app with no problems. I have removed Apple Music from the Sonos app and re-authorized many times to no avail. I've also removed the Sonos app and redownloaded...again to no avail.I have no extenders in my home and the channel seems to be clear. Any thoughts?
I greatly prefer using the iTunes music app native to my iPhone to play music. I have speakers in my bedroom, living room, and kitchen. More often than not, at least one or more of the rooms does not show as an AirPlay option. The missing speaker(s) are always available in the Sonos app though. I have found that renaming them and then restoring them to the original name seems to usually work (ie, change “kitchen” to “bathroom” and then back to “kitchen” and then “kitchen” again shows as an option in the iTunes app. It is super frustrating. My old rig was with an old AirPort Express- worked flawlessly. I expected Sonos to be an upgrade, but it is just very disappointing. Am I missing something? I prefer to not be forced into the Sonos app to play my library (all songs downloaded to my phone).
Hi,I’m getting constant stability issues of late when streaming from Plex. Connectivity to Plex server is lost and music stops. When I retry it will throw the same error for a few minutes then come good. My WIFI and network are relatively idle apart from streaming music at that time. Use case is streaming to Play3 and Play1 simultaneously.. Seems to stream ok from the native Plex app when I cast so will try using that method to see if its more stable. Very frustrating. Diagnostic is 331079758
Hello, following the subject here closed : I would like to add my experience has I found one specific reason to that. I had the exact same problem using a playlist on Spotify. I tried everything related to a network or device issue as described on the original article, but none solved the problem.Googling to know wether other people had this problem, I found one which led me to the solution : it was a playlist size issue. Indeed I noticed I didn’t have the problem listening to music on Apple Music service. Actually the playlist I was listening to had 4652 titles for a total duration of near 250 hours !Too much it seems for the Sonos app.It would be interesting to know how much titles the app can handle on a single playlist.Want to reproduce the problem ? The playlist is “Cinemix Radio official playlist” by Chris Vuillard. Using any other (shorter) playlist, everything is working perfectly good.
Hi, I am using Sonos OS S1. I recently took a free 3 month Amazon Music Unlimited subscription, however it does not appear as an option in my Sonos Amazon Music menu. I do see the following under the Amazon Music option:PlaylistsStationsChartsRecommendedNewMy MusicI have removed and re-added Amazon Music as a service in Sonos multiple times and re-authorised Sonos to use my Amazon account multiple times. I have also re-stalled the Sonos S1 software a couple of times, all to no avail. I am located in England and my profile settings reflect this. Can anyone help please? Luckily I am at the free stage of the subscription at the moment, however it is of little use if I cannot play the music through my Sonos speakers. Thanks for you help.
“Adding music folder…Error adding musicThe music folder could not be addedReason: unable to add shared folder // Laptop - ****** /error 1002” Today I updated the version of the Sonos app on my computer (which already works badly). After the update I found that my music folder was deleted, and when I tried to reach it this error appeared. I've tried disabling firewalls and reinstalling apps entirely, I use a laptop with Windows10Any idea what it can do?
This has happened since we got Spotify (2 yrs ago?). When I pull up the error log, I can see that Sonos loses connection with Spotify every 3-5 minutes. Sometimes it will skip over songs or sometimes everything will stop playing all-together. We have no issues with Pandora, only Spotify. We purchased the boost about a year ago to help with our internet connection, but we have not noticed much of a difference. Our most recent Sonos Diagnostic was submitted at 5:49 on Wednesday 1/20/2021. Our diagnostic number is 2091627459. This issue was with our playbar. It lost connection for about 2 minutes. We have reached out to our tech company, and they have not noticed any issues on their end with our internet connection. Any tips? Thank you!
So many questions, so few answers: I have 2 Play 1s and two Play 5s. The latest software update has left the S1 software unable to see the Play 1s and the S2 software unable to see the Play 5s and me unable to rewind to the state I was in before The S1 software cannot ‘see’ my computer and so I cannot connect with my computer based music library The S1 software can no longer see’ my YouTube Music library I have just about had it with Sonos. I am ready to trash the lot. I need HELP. I have many opinions but . I need HELP from Sonos. A human being. A voice. Someone who is going to fix the mess that they have created. How do I contact these people ?
I had my Sonos years - Play 5 as stereo pair. Gen 1 and now gen 2. This process has not been with out issues. Now again - I have gone weeks with it being completely non-functional from an apple perspective, no changes have been made to my set up. When I try to play a song from Apple Music, it would sometimes start and play the first 10 seconds and then stop and say that it cannot connect to Apple Music or it may say this from the start. Other times I will try to add a song and it just says "cannot add music to queue" I have power cycled the speakers, the modem, the wifi. Nothing seems to make any difference. I have installed the app and re installed - I have checked all settings. The Tunein-radio works, Sonos radio works, my line in to my turntable works - this is specifically an issue between the sonos and apple interface. Everything else in my house works. I can stream 4k video in any room in the house. I can stream apple music from several different appliances in my house. (JBL,
The only info I can find on this issue is two years old. I sincerely hope this problem has been sorted. The problem being, limited track shuffling. I have playlists, particularyly Spotify playlists, consisting of a couple of hundred tracks or more but everytime I play the playlists on shuffle, the same tracks are played. Most tracks I never hear. I’m no software wizard but I would’ve thoght a totally random track-shufflring system would be quite a straight forward procedure. I’m really hoping that there’s something I can do to rectify this problem. Any advice anyone? Many thanks
I have been trying unsuccessfully to get Sonos S2 to index my music library which is located on an external drive on my IMac. I have given Sonos full disk access and added it to allowed firewall connections as recommended on the Sonos site but the app will still not index my library. The same set up was used on the S1 app with no issues?
In trying to play songs with a crossfade so one song blends into the next on Spotify, something which works on Spotify natively and any other speaker system we've played it through, the Crossfade does not play correctly through Sonos. There is no crossfade when playing Spotify on Spotify but with the sound coming out of the Sonos system. What can we do about this! It's not groovy when a song ends abruptly and there's space and then another song starts.
Guys,I have an old German account, almost 10 years now, as I used to live there. Anyway, I now live in the US and I'd like to switch to a US account. Is it possible to switch the Country without deleting my original account and creating a new one here? Many thanks,Giovanni
When searching for radio shows in the 'Podcasts & Shows' option, most of the radio shows are really old, for instance, today is 22nd December, when I search for Robert Elms' show on BBC Radio London (his show is on 6 days a week) , the last show is 1st December! Who's fault is this, Sonos', Tunein, or The BBC? Same goes for the Radcliffe & Maconie show on BBC 6Music. Frustrating.
