I’ve had a couple of Sonos speakers for 2 years. Have streamed from Spotify etc, but have never been able to play my music library. I can identify the folders etc, but when I try to play a library track, Sonos skips over it.The Sonos app is up to date. I have changed my router (and internet supplier, when I moved house) and completely replaced all devices (2 macbook airs, an HP desktop). None has ever worked, I’ve learned to live with it.BUT… recently, by accident, I managed to play an mp3 track stored on my Android (Samsung Galaxy) phone, from a Whattsapp folder. I’ve added other files to that folder, but doesn’t work. I’ve put files in the phone’s Music folder, as Sonos suggest. No joy.Any thoughts?Thanks
I have always been able to play Mixcloud DJ sets recorded and uploaded to Mixcloud on Sonos. now it says “unable to play” and jumps to the next Mixcloud upload on my Mixcloud uploads, this one also does not play and so it skips to the next one. On and on. I have de-authorised and re-authorised the account link a few times - didn’t work. what a pain!!
So I have to have my PC hard wired to the internet for my work-from-home job, which means no internet via WiFi for the PC. My music library is on my PC and I can’t play it. I get error 1002. Or I get “unable to play, cannot connect to //OFFICE/Music because the server can’t be found.” Same when we use app on phones. -- BUT we CAN play iHeart and other local radio stations, etc. Spotify, etc. from my Sonos PC controller and from smartphones. There’s a lot of great music on my PC that I would like to play but I can’t. I’m old school so I’m not great with a lot of technical terms, LOL. But any assistance would be appreciated. BTW, I have Sonos S1 (Series ID A100) with a bridge (Series ID X999).
Sonos products work intermittently. I had given up on connecting to my imported itunes library then for a period of two weeks it worked, today it does not work again. The connection of my laptop to my home network has always been stable, the stupid software doesn't play the audio
Since updating my iPad to the latest v11.2.3 of the S1 app, the app no longer finds my Sonos system - Sonos bridge and gen 1 play 5s My iPhone running v11.2.2 of the app works fine, so the Sonos system is working fine. Initially the app did not find the system soI uninstalled and reinstalled the app. With the latest app freshly installed on the iPad .. it does not find the existing system … nor, when signing in can I “create a new system” when trying to “pair” it with either the bridge or a speaker directly. The app does not let me progress beyond either of those steps. I have rebooted the bridge also. Any ideas as to how I can get this iPad S1 app working again would be appreciated.
I've run my music library from a USB connection on my BT home hub via a WiFi network without any problems for some years but I've experienced WiFi dead zones in my home and have now installed a Google mesh network. My 2 Sonos One's and sub are now connected by sonosnet. This is achieved by connecting the remote Google mesh device to a One with an ethernet cable. The only problem I now have is that Sonos no longer recognises the drive path to the USB drive in the BT router. The current address is //bthub/xxx First question is, is it even possible to connect with the USB drive via a wired outlet from the Google mesh device or am I wasting my time. If you can, what drive path do you use. My other question is does a similar situation occur if you connect via a Sonos Boost? In that situation the Boost would be connected to the Google mesh device plugged into the BT router.
I have just taken out a Deezer Hi Fi subscription. I have successfully set it up on a desktop app on my MacBook and my iPhone is also set up. But when I try to connect the Sonos app to the account it complains about the password being invalid. It obviously works on the other two device apps, s I know the password is correct. Is this an issue with Sonos or is it at the Deezer end? I can connect 13 devices with the account I have, so it isn’t an issue re the number of devices. Thanks.
Since the switch to Youtube Music (from Google Play Music), has anyone else noticed audio glitches periodically in the music they listen to via Youtube Music in the the Sonos App?Every so often in a song I get a quick static glitch sound. This does not happen with other sources, like Sonos Radio or Bandcamp.
In the case of having multiple systems attached to an account (multiple houses), when transferring ownership of a system to a new owner, is the system that the app is currently connected to the only system that is transferred? I.e., selling house A, but not house B, so only transferring system in house A.And should I just do a factory reset on everything?
Hi, I’ve noticed within Sonos random tracks are greyed out & won’t play...yet they show & play perfectly fine in Apple Music. After very lengthy conversations with Sonos & Apple I’m no further forward it getting the issue resolved. I have reset router & bridge , deleted Apple Music & re-added , deleted a few greyed tracks from Apple Music & re-added (& still shows greyed in Sonos)…..it’s the same on all my apple devices….I’m now feel out of options. Very frustrated! Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve ?
There are some stations that are on radio.net that I can stream on my cell phone, but won’t stream using Sonos. For example, “Dimensione Jazz” (Italy) - if I press the play button on Sonos, won’t stream the station. But I can start the station on my phone and AirDrop it to my Sonos devices. Any idea why?
I have been compiling an extensive list of favourite artists and their albums in my new Deezer app. (I have always used Apple Music in the past but wanted to stream in Flac)I have just noticed that not all of my favourites show up in my Sonos app. For example, I have 18 Dave Matthews Band albums favourited on my Deezer app but only 1 shows up on Sonos. This happens fo most of my artists. My list of favourite albums is large and may reach its Deezer limit, but surely my Deezer content should just be mirrored in Sonos? My app is run on ios. I have the most recent sonos app with my one sl and I can't start any Siriusxm channels from the sonos app. I am able to start it from other apps like amazon alexa. I can can also play the other streaming apps like tunein and spotify from the sonos app. What is the problem?Thank you.
I recently setup a pair of sonos with One & One SL. The google assistant works well for playing music (from Spotify) on both speakers. However, when I try to use GA to play podcasts (from Google’s podcasts) it only plays on One. Anyway to make it play podcasts on both speakers?
I have been using Sonos for many years and have generally used Google and Amazon streaming services. I subscribed to TIDAL about 10 months ago and really liked the quality. I had the option to Play All top tracks from my selected artist.which is how I tend to listen to music8 days ago this function suddenly disappeared. I contacted TIDAL and got a very quick response back that pointed me towards an issue with the Sonos interface.Sonos - why has this function been removed from TIDAL when it is still available with Google and Amazon?
Hi, it seems that I cannot find any of my own Tidal playlists. I do find the official Tidal playlists but when it comes to my own playlists I cannot find them. Even when I rename one of them to some phantasy word to prevent it from being lost in all the official playlists that are returned after the search. I also re-authorized my Tidal account but the problem persists.What could I do to track down the problem further? Cheers,Andreas
HiRecently our Sonos stopped showing songs in the Activity Playlist under iTunes services.I’ve tried to remove and re-add iTunes / Apple Music but still this is a problem.Remaining features of Apple Music seem to work fine. Please adviseBest regardsMariusz
I just noticed that my Sonos system adjusts the volume automatically between loud and quiet songs. I haven’t noticed this before. It is extremely annoying, and especially noticeable when I play an album where the songs run into each other. The system also inserts a little gap between the songs. ALSO extremely annoying. I tried playing the same music files on another player, and there is no difference in the volume and no gap between the songs on that player, so it’s not the files that are ripped that way, it is the Sonos system that plays around with the volume. Like I said, I’ve never noticed it before. What has happened? Where do I turn it off?
I see that other people have been having this problem but haven’t seen any fixes or even reasons why this problem occurs. For a long time I’ve been listening to my Mixcloud uploads on my Sonos 5 Gen 1 without any problems, but now I get the “unable to play song is not encoded properly” and nothing to listen to, unless I switch to a radio station. Are you aware of this problem? There’s nothing wrong with my internet connection and the radio station can play okay. Is this a problem with MixCloud, or is it Sonos? I have the Sonos S1 Controller installed and it was working fine until recently.
