Sonos Connect - factory reset , green flashing light but no ethernet connection

I have a Sonos Connect, factory reset it, and green light is flashing.

However when hardwired to router ethernet lights do not work ie. no connection between amplifier and router.  Tried different cables, different ports , resetting router ,etc but ethernet port will not connect.

Any suggestions please?

This is a CONNECT hardware failure.
