Will Sonos ever work with Amazon Echo?

Just wondering if there are plans for this in the future, or are customer expected to only stick to one type of platform even if it doesn't do everything you need it too?

Sonos announced that they will support voice control via echo if that is what your talking about. We expect to see by early next year.

If your talking about an echo actually being a speaker that can be grouped with other Sonos speakers .... that will not happen. The echo is not built with the same architecture as sonos to be a sonos player.
You may have missed this press release:

Also, there are a few threads that are discussing this:

There are most definitely more.

TL;DR - Yes, it is coming to private beta at the end of the year with public launch in 2017.
Amazing, thanks everyone for your help! Great news. 🙂

There's been no other info regarding the beta of Sonos and Amazon Echo, other than that it should be sometime before the end of the year. It might start out as a private beta, so just because there's nothing announced or visible doesn't mean it isn't being tested.

I would imagine that the Spotify Connect functionality that is possible in the current public beta is likely part of the equation for Amazon Echo though, so it might move quickly once the current beta is finally released.
