Yes, it's possible to connect a TV to a Connect using the analog inputs, which are stereo RCA. You could then group the Play: 1 with the connect, and get a stereo (not a 5.1) signal. Note that the analog inputs do incur around a 70ms delay, which may trouble you with lipsync on the TV.
Most people who have posted on these boards find it to be less than satisfying, and many end up purchasing a Playbar or Playbase, which are designed to use with most TVs, and don't have the delay I mentioned, due to getting a digital input across the optical cable that is supplied.
