Can you hard wire one sonos (like connect) and use the other port to feed another Sonos Amp and do the

When you say "hard wire" do you mean Ethernet? If so, then yes you can. There is a limit to the number of units you can daisy chain (maximum of 7), so 3 will be fine.

if you are building a new home, don't skimp on the ethernet wiring. Put it everywhere to future proof it for you and future owners. Two runs of CAT6 to every location would be best.
I agree, and for reasons beyond just Sonos. As the net penetrates the home, WiFi interference will get to be an even bigger problem than it already is, and running cables to carry signals is the solution to this.
Is your 'connection area/board' going to be out in the open or in a closet? If it's in a closet, I would just go ahead and get a good size switch. They aren't that expensive and I think you'd probably end up with less of a maze of wires. If this is out a bookshelf out in the open, I can see where you wouldn't want to do that though.
Think how many ethernet connection boxes you want and double it.

I try to avoid using the second Sonos ports, If I can't run two Ethernet lines to a location I just add an inexpensive Gigabit switch that supports full speed connections.
