Sonos connect amp dropout

Hi I have lots of Sonos speakers and love them, but I am having problems with my setup in the bedroom. I have a Sonos connect amp connected to the tv audio output via phono cable. I then have 2 paired play 1s that I connect to the amp via the ap. The issue I'm have is that unless I have the setting set to 'compressed' in the advanced setting on the ap (which gives a massive sync delay with the tv image) i get dropouts in the audio constantly. I can see this has been an issue for years and I'm not sure what the solution is, or why Sonos hasn't made an update to rectify this.

Sorry is the Sonos Connect not amp. But I don't think that makes any difference to the query
