Moving a connect and Play 1 to an new network
Can I just connect the "connect" via ethernet to establish new wifi and keep all my settings... i.e. I don't need to connect the Play 1...?

Yes, if that's the way you had it set up before. It's called a boost setup, where the CONNECT is acting as the BOOST, and sending the signal to the PLAY:1.
I just moved, and did the same thing. Connected my BOOST with the ethernet cable going to the router, and all of my speakers just worked, since that was the previous setup.
