hi there I tried to set up a pair of Play:1's and a single Play:3 in the same room (kitchen), but I didn't manage to do so. Is that even possible? Everytime I tried to add the Play:3 as a new player, it kept ending up in the old room it was in before. And just changing the rooms name of the play:3 to kitchen wouldn't work either.
Hey, We have 5 ZP120 Sonos devices in our office. Plus VoIP(Snom). Whenever Sonos has been on for more than 20 minutes, our VoIP starts to fall out. People cannot hear us, we cannot hear them. There is also noise. Our VoIP base stations has been moved away from the ZP120 devices. No luck. Any suggestions?
I am in Gloucestershire, in the southwest of England. I have 2 x Sonos Ones and a Sonos Three connected wirelessly to a Sonos Bridge which is hardwired into our Draytek Vigor 2820n router which is connected to our ADSL broadband service (Plusnet) which claims to give us 8Mb download and 0.3Mb upload. For the last year the Sonos system regularly drops the connection. By this I mean that we are listening to the radio (via the Sonos) and the transmission just stops, then restarts, then stops again, then restarts. This can happen at almost any time, morning or evening, and there doesn't seem to be any discernible pattern. A couple of days ago I saw a dialogue come up on the controller (a redundant iPhone 3) which said something like 'network service too slow to maintain buffer'. This is the first time that I have seen that dialogue. In previous attempts to understand the problem I have used BroadbandSpeedchecker which regularly reports that our ISP service is around 8Mb down and 0.5M
My home has a good wifi system, to which I've recently added a new NAS drive. I have music stored on the NAS drive, and have successfully set up the system to stream to a Sonos Connect unit that I recently purchased. I'm delighted with the capabilities and qualities of this new streaming system. I would like to set up a second wifi network, with its own NAS drive having a totally different collection of music. It would not be convenient for me to simply add a second NAS drive to the existing house wifi network, because my spouse uses an HP personal computer for her NAS drive and her choice of music, but I'd prefer to use my iMac with its own NAS drive and my own selection of music. Question: I don't see any way in the Sonos controller app on my iPad to select between a choice of two different networks. The iPad app seems to be able to work only with the network with which it was originally set up. So: can a single Sonos Connect select between two different networks? Or do I n
I'm thinking about setting up a Sonos network, and wanted to make sure I have this right. I presently have a Denon AVR-1700 receiver hooked up to a Bose pre-amp through the MD/Tape output, so that I can use the Bose 901 speakers I have. The RCA cables go to and from the pre-Amp via RCA. Other inputs to the receiver include a turntable (via RCA) and the television (via optical). It's my understanding that from the pre-amp I can link the Sonos Connect in via RCA, and then throw the signal back to the receiver via digital out on the Connect. I believe anything on the receiver (television, turntable, etc...) could then be transmitted to Play 1 speakers in other zones. Is this correct? Will there be a delay? Pretty confusing (at least for me), so I appreciate any help. Thanks.
As part of my Sonos setup I currently have a connect and a not-very-good amp and speakers in my living room. I'm considering changing this for 2 play 5s setup as a stereo pair. The room is about 10' x 15' - would this be overkill for what's quite a small space? My other options are buy a new amp/speakers or a single play 5 I think.
My sonos works perfectly in the bedroom, but it won't connect in the living room. I'm trying to play from my laptop library, but get a message: error message unable to play 'name of song' the file name of location .m4a cannot be found In one room it works fine, in the other, nothing.
I had all my sonos components connected trough my last wifi network. I have now changed and can't connect my to play 3. There is only a white light and when i push the two button to connect the light starts blinking red. I successfully connect my player and two play 1. Anyone know what to do? Do i have to reset the speakers?
HI all! :D Thanks so much in advance for your advice! Another Noob question! 1. i'm really excited to be on the verge of buying a playbar/ sub for my home thats being renovated at the moment. With a single component required to be connected to the router, can that single component be the sub or does it have to be the player? 2. Should i wait abit longer for a new edition of the playbar? Many thanks!! Dave
Hi, I own the Playbar and for my living room it is a wonderful device. I also have a TV in my office and space is rather confined. Placing the TV on top of a sound stand/pedestal would solve the space issue. Would Sonos issue a compact Player or stand/pedestal in the future?
I was over on the B & H Photo web site and I was looking at the SONOS Subwoofer. It indicated that the Sub now includes "Integrated SONOSNet 2.0 Extender". I then when to the SONOS website and see no reference to this "New" stuff. I also noticed on the B&H site that they had discontinued Subs. Could someone please explain what changed and why the new is better?
