I'm connecting a 3rd party communication controller to my Sonos system to use a door chime and paging feature. This device has an RCA analog output that I connected to the line in on one of my connects. When the door bell is pressed the Sonos goes to the line in and plays the chime. Would it be possible to select multiple rooms for the auto play instead of only one. I know you can group rooms together and allow for groups in the auto play but that is not a fixed setting as the customer will change the group setting. I have done a work around for some rooms by using a 1 in 4 out analog audio amp and connected the comm controller to 4 Sonos connects. This helps but I have a few connects that are in a different location that I can't get a wire to. Also it would be nice to have the Sonos connect jump back to previous source with a 10 or 20 delay after the auto play source is off. The way it is now if the doorbell rings the music stops to play
Hi, Having changed my router, I am no longer able to add ANY music services bar Last.fm which I'm not interested in. Changing the router has already resulted in multiple issues which I think I've corrected. I've had to revert back to factory settings and reregister the speaker however I'm still unable to add my music services. I appreciate that this question has been asked a number of times however, I can't see a definitive answer to the question. Also, having reregistered, I'm not sure if I registered to the correct email. How do I check which account the speaker is registered to (my account currently states that it was registered to my original address however, the date has not updated which leads me to believe that the information has not updated or I've misspelt the address). To add insult to injury, the controller will not allow me to send the diagnostic information either! I keep receiving the same error message. Please help. The silence is depressing......SOS! Mo
I have the Marantz NR 1605 and just got a Sonos Connect so I can stream through the surround sound speakers. I have tried using the Analog Out from the Connect into the CD analog slot. I have also connected the Digital Audio cable from the Connect to the Marantz. I have configured the Marantz (I think) so that the the Digital Audio is for the "CD" and also have the Analog 3 for the CD (which is supposed to be the default). Nothing seems to be working.
Howdy So I just got the Sonos Play:5 today to connect my turntable into. The turntable has the required pre-amp to connect to the play:5 and it is working and playing my records just fine, but the volume isn''t even close to that of just playing Spotify through the Play:5. I literally have it turned up to the max volume, and it's loud, but i can't get it up past half way with non-vinyl audio without it blasting me out of the room. Do I need to get an additional amp to go in-between the turntable and the sonos system? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for your reply. Cheers!
My setup consists of an AT&T Uverse modem/router in downstairs bedroom, a Play 5 in next room over and a Sonos Connect upstairs and on the other side of the house. I frequently go long periods of time without having any network or dropout issues. But lately I have been having all kinds of problems. All of a sudden I can't browse my library, or one of my zones disappears, or songs drop out for no real reason and will do so repeatedly. Then all of a sudden it comes back on. Or just goes completely haywire and goes to the next track and plays 10 seconds before dropping out again and displaying the "insufficient buffer" error. I suspect that part of the problem might be the signal from AT&T. I pay for the 18 Mbps plan but am lucky to get 10-12. And this can drop down to the single digits during peak hours. This is the fastest plan available at my location and AT&T is the only game in town at the moment. So switching ISP is not an option. So I have tried various things like wiring in the
I would like to get a mono version of the connect amp. I have several rooms that I would like to put an in ceiling speaker, but don't really see the need for a stereo pair. I could certainly use a Play 1. But wold prefer the tidiness of an in wall / in ceiling speaker with a cable run back to a closet full of Connect Amps, some stereo, some mono as appropriate.

I added a Connect and Flexson turntable to my long-established Sonos system (with Bridge) yesterday and am having problems with audio dropouts. I've read plenty of threads on changing both router and sonos channels, trying compression etc and the problem persists. If a Staff member could be so kind as to take a look at Diagnostic 6733790 to give me a clue about where to look that would be great. Thanks :)
can I connect my play 1 and play 5 in the living room directly on a router (through play5) and on the 1st floor connect another play 1 with sonos bridge connected on a homeplug.(devolo) for a better wifi connection. How does it work? seperate installations?
I have two Sonos 1's properly configured as a stereo pairing, in my "living room" with Trueplay process complete. Questions: 1) If I turn both units off, will they remain completely as configured when turned on again 8 hours later as long as left in exactly the same position? 2) if moved to a different position in the same room do they remain a linked pair as far as stereo is concerned with just the Trueplay needing to be repeated? 3) assuming the answer to 1) is Yes, so that becomes my saved "living room" setting, can I then make a kitchen setting by moving them there and going through the same process including Trueplay and logging that as my "kitchen" setting, so that whichever room I am in and once I have told the iPhone Sonos App where the speakers are, they'll perform as intended as long as I have placed them in exactly the same place? 4) and if not, will they nonetheless play as a stereo unit even if not as a Trueplay unit?
Newbie here. So, I just upgraded (ha!) my wireless network, getting rid of the Comcast modem and router nd installed a TP-Link AC3150. Now my Sonos controller wont see the network, even when connected via Ethernet to the router. All other devices, with the exception of an older kindle, see the network with no problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks! yanceylebeef
Lost power at my house and all of my Sonos speakers came back up except for the playbar. Light is powered on. I've tried disconnecting and reinstalling but can't seem to get it to work. Also on my app all my other speakers show up including the sub it was paired with but not the playbar. Any thoughts?
I have emailed the CEO with my concerns on three issues: spam, 6.4 and the Connect not being bit-perfect. Thanks to Kumar for making me aware of this possibility. Please join me and email the CEO if you feel strongly about recent Sonos issues. The CEO's email address is email@example.com Cheers, Peter.
I followed the setup instructions on the app several times. When the light flashes green I press the button on the back until I hear the chime. The speaker fails to pair with the system. In order to exit the setup app, I have to press "cancel". Sonos email help sent me the same instructions as the app. In other words, they were of no help.
I recently purchased a Sonos Playbar and it works great with my TV. I now want to play my CDs through the TV into the Playbar. I was told that I could connect my CD player output to the Sonos Connect input port and then connect the output of the Sonos Connect device and go to the input of my TV and play my CDs through my TV using the Playbar. However, when I do this I cannot get any sound. I don't know if I actually need an external amplifier or if my setup in the Sonos app is wrong. Does anyone have any advice.
Hello! I recently had my first experience with Sonos while staying at a vacation rental and I am sold :) I have a living room Sony sound bar and sub that work quite well so I'm thinking of buying a play 1 pair for a kitchen and bedroom speaker and then a connect for the Sony. I primarily use an Xbox for all media cconsumption which routes audio and video into the Sony via HDMI, Sony plays audio, then routes video to TV (which is just a glorified monitor now) via HDMI. Questions arise when I have a connect running into the Sony. I'm assuming I'll have a new audio input from Connect into the Sony so ill need to switch between those to get either Xbox video/audio or streaming Sonos to work? Also will the Sonos connect turn on my Sony or will I need to either leave it on 24/7 or turn it on manually when I want to stream music? Anything else I'm missing here? Thanks a ton!
I continue to receive this error message on my iPad, iPhone, & iMac. My Sonos Connect is < a year old. I have contacted support via phone & email multiple times following all instruction given, yet the problem is not corrected. Email support is slow to respond. Searching online, I see that many users have had the same problem, but I have not found any published resolutions. Should I reset my Sonos Connect? That's the only thing I have not tried.
